I don't know if Nick would give it back actually - you did send the trade back unaltered, and it wasn't a really outrageous thing like twenty Augusts for a 2nd Gen in which case it obviously wasn't an intentional trade. I suspect this is more a case of 'learn from your mistakes' and make sure never to send back a trade that you aren't willing to have accepted.

Oh well. I'm not keen on horses. And also, I don't have many rare pets (Julys or Augusts) after I gave my evil shima, winged wood (I got 2, traded away 2 ) and 08s for my little clear-eyed Galaxy.

I just recieved about 4 different trades for the first horse. It wasn't in my trades group. The first 3 were cancelled after awhile but each had an enormous sum of pets some which I wanted and some I had. The 4th request had nothing. I don't think they said I could pick what I wanted from theirs either just that they really wanted the horse. -.-

Some newbie sent a trade for my PPS dice pony. I sent it back with a message, saying it was rarer than the pet they offered (a common second gen)...

AND THEY ACCEPTED!!!
And I don't think they will give it back, since it was in the group "ULTRA RARE"...
I hate newbies now, they cheat you! (sometimes, not all of them)

You're supposed to CANCEL it, and then send the message with that…you should've removed it.
What you should do is send back the 2nd-gen, then PM them explaining your mistake. Then make them promise that they owe you an uncommon pet sometime later in the future when they have more pets up for trade.
Really, I've done that when I have multiples of some new person's dream pet, I send it to them and then make them promise to let me have a free pet of the same value sometime later.

Ok, I've got about 4 trades from this person now, and I they weren't fair, so I cancelled them. Now they send me a new trade:
Their side: Common 2nd gen
My side: PPS Buckskin pony
Message: DON'T CANCEL THIS TRADE! if you have this little pony in the trading catagory then why can't you trade!!!!!!!!!! and don't ignore me!!

I cancelled and said that the trade wasn't fair, that is why I cancelled it the other 4 times.
