[Yeah... for some reason, mine keep dying. *Shrugs*]
"I'm afraid so, Miss," said Liam, nodding towards the door. "She just dropped, dead as a dormouse. Poison maybe, although I ain't see enough of that kind of thing to be sure."

Sinbad backed up against a bread stall and stole some food. He knew that the moment that knife came down on the loaf, he better have started running. And fortunately, he did. He was using acrobatics to escape. It was working slightly.

"Patric's been gone a long time."
"Too long, if you ask me."
"Maybe he forgot to write home- I'll bet that's it."
"Don't be a fool- he'd never forget. It's those awful pirates. I'll bet they kidnapped him and they're holding him hostage."
"In exchange for what? We haven't got anything worth ransoming for."
The whispered exchange took place in the dead of night, far across the ocean from Port Royale. The children should have been asleep long ago, but their eldest brother seemed to have vanished off the face of the earth.
"Do you suppose he'll ever come home?"
"I doubt it."
A young girl, the littlest, barely more than a babe, began to cry quietly. The oldest there wrapped her in a warm blanket and held her close, whispering to her.
"It's alright, shush now. He'll be home soon. I promise."

Sinbad kept dodging those in Port Royale, going right through a roof by accident. He wasn't use to roofs being some what flimsy. He coughed as dust spread around him.

((Aaw, poor little kiddies, I wonder how they'll find out about what happened))
Ingo went into the shop. She needed to see this for herself, though she wished she didn't have to see it at all. Why could none stay alive and well for long? Why did everything have to end in death? Ingo knew full well why but sometimes she just wanted people to not die so suddenly, she wanted evryone to only ever die of old age. It was a fair enought thing to think, but Ingo had murdered at least five people today and being too caring was not the best mind-set for a pirate. Ingo's gaze fell on the lifeless body that lay limp on the floor. Ingo sniffed, trying to keep the tears away. It was poison, for sure, the type they sold at the black market, the one that looked as inncoent as rum, a single drop, everyone knew, could kill even the burliest of men in an instant.

Sonja heard a crash from somewhere and looked around, then saw a puff of dust rise up from a house nearby. "Stay. Here." She instructed those around her. She tugged at the hem of her tunic to make sure it covered the bullet wound and the bandages, then strapped her sabre cross-belt across her back. The young woman trotted to the house and peered inside, then saw a young man lying on the floor beneath a hole in the roof. She presented the point of one sword at his throat and asked imperiously, "Is there a reason you've just crashed through the roof of my house?" It wasn't her house, but he didn't know that. She just wanted him to feel bad for the owners, the people who would have to pay for repairs.
Liam glanced back into the house, figuring that Sonja could deal with whatever was going on by herself. He saw the other girl, the tall one, standing in the middle of the floor. "Is it poison?" he asked, coming up behind her. "Like I said, I can never tell." Then he saw the saddened look on her face, and asked, "Was she your sister? You don't resemble one another."

Sinbad put his hands up in surrender. One had bread in it, the other a rainbow bracelet. He looked at the girl. "I'm sorry. I was running from..." Well, he kind of thought it was obvious. He was a thief and a sailor.

"The marshal and his crew?" asked Sonja, finishing his sentence. "Yeah, I figured. Get up." She slid her sword back into the sheath and waved her hand around at the roof. "Who's going to pay for this?" she asked the air, but the question was directed at the young man. "Certainly not me- I haven't the money. That's why the roof was so unsteady- it was designed to protect against wind and rain, not thieves."

Sinbad looked at her. "I'll fix it." He handed her the bread. "Give that to someone who needs it." Sinbad headed out with pieces of the roof and started fixing it.

"My captain, one of the few people who had ever accepted me," Ingo said, she swallowed her tears and didn't let them fall, she couldn't do that, not today, not after everything that had happened. Ingo mentally shook herself, and pushed the sadness to the back of her mind, not wnating to dwell on negative emotions. "It was poison, for sure, I've seen it in action before," Ingo said, remebering the days the other street people had been poisoned for stealing. No-one knew what the murky powder was called, everyone just called it 'The Fate' and left it as that. An old man sold it in the black market at the barn back where Ingo used to live, officials were often seen buying it there.
