Mania lowered her head, sifting through the charred remains of the forest. It was bewildering, seeing the once flourishing forest now barren. It was just a desolate expanse of land, covered in the ashes of the destruction that had ravaged the woodland.
indentKronos sidled up near to his companion, and the two shared a sad silence as they looked on at their home. It was all gone.
indentNear to the pair, the members kennel were scattered around, sniffing at the ground and trying to make sense of everything. Eyes would occasionally slide over to Diablo, who sat alone, his back to the empire. The pack was still not over his rash behaviour at the fire, where he had brutally murdered the helpful soul August after she took charge of the situation.
indentAlthough they were a pack known for murder, they would do it with a cause to protect the pack. Diablo's actions.. They were unnecessary and cruel.
indent"What do we do now?" Mania finally asked to Kronos, her light lime gaze flicking over his.
indentKronos didn't reply immediately, staring out onto their home. "Rebuild, I suppose. It's the only thing we can do."

Diablo led the way through the city, which was now reaching the farmost corners of the borders. It had been decided, that the kennel would set out to find new territories, as it would be unacceptable to stay in the land that had been so mercilessly destroyed by the blazing fire.
indentThe sun was dipped behind the towering buildings, though it did not mean that the bustling city would come to a halt. Cars would still race past the kennel as they drove down the streets, and as they continued forth it became even busier.
indentDevaki and Kebechet, the youngest of the group, where beginning to slow down, barely managing to drag their growing paws across the pavement. Zariana scooped up Devaki by the nape of his neck, while Spectre grabbed Kebechet and the two parents walked alongside eachother, shoulder fur brushing against one another.
indentThe caucasian shepherd twins, Khoine and Boreus, had been slowing down too. Boreus was now hauled on the back of Valerik, nestled completely between the massive wolf's shoulder blades. Khoine had determinedly walked after Remus made a snide remark about how only weaklings get piggybacks.
indentDesdemona let her gaze slide left of her, grazing along the side of Valerik's body while carefully watching in case he saw her. His fur was almost a burnt sienna colour, tones of light cream mingled along, as well as the dark sable hairs freckled along. His fur was thick, coarse, yet all the same plush. Beneath that, toned muscles rippled beneath his skin, his wide chest and broad shoulders adding to his wolf features. He looked deadly, but, as she glanced to see his eyes, she saw kindness.
indentHe could slaughter just about anyone, even proving difficult in a match against Diablo. His jaws, clamping down onto the flesh of another, could simply crush bone. Valerik could do it, oh yes, but would he? No. Not to the ones he loved.
indentWas she one of the ones he loved? A blush rose to her cheeks, and she suddenly looked away from him, blinking quickly as she tried to let the heat that flood to her boil down.
indent"Des?" The familiar voice asked, the heavy accent a clear indicator that it was Valerik.
indentDesdemona turned around quickly.. Too quickly. Des cringed inwardly, but didn't say anything aloud. "Yes?"
indent"How are you holding up?"
indentThe caucusian shepherd shrugged, dismissively giving her coat a brief shake. "Nothing I can't handle."
indent"Nothing we can't handle." He responded, moving closer to her.
indentDes felt her mouth suddenly dry up, and she came to an abrupt halt. She looked at him wide-eyed. "We?" She squeaked out finally.
indentValerik placed his paw on herself gently, his deep brown eyes absorbing her attention, leaving her falling in his alluring ocean of chocolate. "We. I've spent too much time playing the game of life alone, but now I want to be with you, and the pups."
indentDesdemona blinked, shocked. Moments of tight silence came and went before she sudden pressed against him, burying her muzzle in his shoulder fur. She quickly jerked her head away though, careful to make sure no dog saw them before walking alongside him, letting their fur brush against eachother.
