Welcome to the Tribe of the Flowing Mist, located in the mist-covered slopes of Mt. Gam-ak, in the northern reaches of the South Korean province of Gyeonggyi-do, where the biggest threats are the military activities of Twolegs nearby at their training centers nearby, the Twolegs who come visit the bridges they have constructed in newleaf and leaf-fall, and the dangers posed by foxes, boars, and owls. Here, in the relatively-pristine environment, the cats of the Tribe of the Flowing Mist have roamed these slopes for centuries, proudly tracing their lineage to the first Teller of the Whispering Wind, or Baram-sulsa [bah-rahm sul - sah] (u is similar to oo, but shorter oo sound) ("Wind Controller" or "Wind Shaman", depending on context; going for the second meaning, really), who the Tribe cats claim was a wild leopard cat. If their claims are true or not cannot be said due to the flow of time; however, these cats are fierce and loyal to their own, and are known to attack the stray boars that wander about the mountains sometimes.

The Tribe of the Flowing Mist's territory consists of the wooded slopes of Mt. Gam-ak, stretching from one end of a valley to the next, providing the cats with much-needed cover, food for the prey they hunt, and refreshing water from the streams that curve through the lush mountain. The main camp is located in a sheltered "clearing", where the only vegetation consists of the tall trees that provide cover above. They say that Twolegs set off something powerful there moons and moons ago, and the upturned earth refused to yield any life, save for the tall guardians of the forest. Here, the cats make shelter out of the various holes in the ground, dug out by the Tribe cats themselves. The Baram-sulsa, however, makes his or her dwelling in the open space of the trees, never making a permanent den, as he or she needs to be constantly alert to interpret the whispers of the winds in the area. The prey of the Tribe consists of mice, shrews, voles, rabbits, owls (2+ cats required), and deer (5+ cats required).

A brown feline shape wove through the heavily-forested slopes of Mt. Gam-ak, its spotted pelt blending well with the shade that the tall trees provided. The feline reached where it was headed, and paused. The rustling of the leaves overhead briefly brought the feline's shape into focus. It was an average-sized Felis catus, a spotted brown tabby at that. His pale green gaze swept across the seemingly-barren clearing for a few moments before he declared, "Josangnim! Jeoaegae i bujokeul myeolmangeuro buteo guhal-su itgae hae-jusheoseo gamsadeuripnida! Jaegae hangaji sowon-i itdamyeon, i bujokeul jaedaero sijak hal-su itgae heorakhae-jusaeyo. I bujokeui cheobeonjjae guseongwoneul heorakhae jusaeyo." Once his plea was scattered to the winds, the tom mewed softly, "Preferably a Daejang Sanyang-ggun." This cat's name was Pyobeom, and he had just been chosen to lead the reformed Tribe of the Flowing Mist by his ancestors, the Tribe of Everlasting Spring, and he had just concluded his first official duty as Baram-sulsa, to request for a new member of his brand-new tribe.

This task done, Pyobeom let out a deep, satisfied sigh and lay down to listen to the whispers of the wind around him, telling him about things to come. It was his job, after all, as the Teller of the Whispering Winds, to interpret what the winds whispered to him. The tom listened carefully, and caught the winds whispering, "Bitnaneun songgotnireul pihageora. Eonjaenga shinseonghan sonnim-i natana neohuireul wuiheomaeseo guhal-geot-ida." The spotted tabby tom's ears shot straight up as he picked up the urgent tones of his ancestors. Pyobeom meowed, "Thank you ancestors, for warning me! I will not let myself forget it, for you have given us our first prophecy! We shall be on the lookout for both the Sacred Guest and the shining fangs!" The baram-sulsa then thought for a moment, to decide what he would do next, and thought it was best to patrol the territory his ancestors had laid out for him in his dream earlier.

Maple trotted back into the camp clearing. His paws were heavy and sore from the uneventful morning patrol. However, as soon as he saw Wren grooming her fur, the bounce returned to his walk. She hated being alone and she was so relieved that Owl has allowed her to join the Tribe. “Of course I will!” Maple purred “Let’s go!”

Echo stretched as she slunk into camp, little bobbed tail waggling behind her. Her newest tribe-mate, Fog met her outside with a warm grin, "Good morning, Echo-listener." Echo purred lightly, "It's okay, you can just call me Echo, no need for titles." The two spent the majority of the afternoon hunting before Fog turned to Echo, "Did you want to join me on a patrol as well?" Echo pulled in a deep breath and sighed, muttering, "Watashi wa sosen to hanashi o suru hitsuyō ga arimasu..."* under her breath. Fog's ears twitched, "What was that?" Echo shook her fur out, oh nothing, I just can't go with you.. I have a meeting with the stars."[/b] Fog nodded lightly, "Ah. Well, I'll patrol and you go see the ancestors then!"

Number of Cats: Two

Feather watched the dark molly pacing in front of her, green eyes narrowed into suspicious slits. ''You're crazy.'' She murmured, curling her raggedy tail around muddy paws. Ignoring the dangerous gleam in Night's eyes, Feather began to get up and stretched lazily, a cool smile etched onto her pretty face. Even cornered, Feather appeared cool and collected, something that Night found rather unnerving; this was a rouge used to being in danger, born and raised among cats who were constantly snapping at each other's throats. ''Absolutely nuts.'' The only problem, Night realized, was that this molly was incredibly rude and seemed certain that Night was the victim of some great fall. ''Shut up and listen to me, Feather.'' The dark molly cut her rant off. ''I'm Night of no stars and-'' Feather cut her off in return. ''And you're the traitor of the tribe of tall shadows.'' The ragged molly smirked. ''I know who you are.''

Another voice chimed in, taking only Night by surprise. ''Everyone knows.'' murmured a skinny brown and white tom, leaf-green eyes dull with hunger and smoke. ''It's no secret.'' The tom didn't smile, but he did dip his head politely. ''I don't know why you're bothering but word travels astonishingly fast, you know.''

''There's no hiding from your crime, Night.'' Feather looked colder, more dangerous and more suited to the streets than ever in that moment. ''Squirrel was my friend, and you drank her blood.'' Behind the black cat, there was an audible gasp from the stranger; evdidently, he was knew to the bloodiness of the city. ''But that happens all the time.'' Night reasoned. ''And I did nothing, I just woke up and...'' ''She was dead, right next to you.'' Feather scowled. ''Twig, seize her.'' Her command was cold and Twig didn't want to argue, tired and beaten from fatigue and loss. ''Come on.'' He grunted, pushing Night into a puddle. ''Go on.''

Feather smirked and took her place upon a pile of discarded crate, and pictured an alley full of cats; bright-eyed, sharp-clawed and ears alert. A tribe for her mate to be proud of!
