Herm.
Posted.Gondiveino was pacing in his castle. Something must be done about that brave fool, Lichenfur. He reflected on the fact that someone that brave and stupid could mess up all his plans. That foolish wolf had messed up his brilliant plans before, when he was a mere pup. Lichenfur had eaten the magic crystal that was the power source for Gondiveino’s plan to unleash demons on the sun pack and the moon pack. The magic crystal had given the pup a beautiful voice and a poetic mind, and the heart of a hero.
Something must be done.
Lichenfur was sleeping with his shaggy gray head on his specked green paws. His solid silvery gold eyes where moving restlessly beneath their furry covers. He was dreaming of the day he ate the rock that gave him his green marks and his slivery gold eyes. The tall old wolf glared at him and said, “Something must be done.” In such a menacing tone it jolted him awake.
“Oh stars and sky,” said Lichenfur. “I had forgotten about that villainous cur, Gondiveino. He did vow revenge that day. One wonders what that scourge of wolves is up to, for me to remember his evil face and vile voice.” Lichenfur slowly stood up and stretched. “Methinks I will find out.” Lichenfur was glad of this quest he assigned himself and promptly started to head out to the abandoned castle that had always been Gondiveino’s base.
Gondiveino peered into his crystal ball. In the clear depths he saw the strong young wolf start in his direction. “Fire and fury!” Growled the evil mage. “Bumken! Clagrge! Stop the foolish youth!” Bumken and Clagrge looked at each other. “Um,” Said Bumken. “Who?” asked Clagrge. The wolf mage glared at his grotesque creations. “Lichenfur, you fools!” He howled. “Stop him from reaching the castle!” Bumken and Clagrge stumbled over themselves trying to reach the exit that lead to the forest. “This one!” Bumken said as he pointed to a portal. Clagrge shook his head. “That leads to the flame pit! It’s this one!” he pointed to another portal. Gondiveino sighed with exasperation. “You are both wrong. It’s the door. The plain wooden door!” He snapped. Bumken and Clagrge fell through the rotted unused door. “We’ll kill him good boss!” Bumken yelled. “Yes boss real good!” interjected Clagrge. “Just go!” was all Gondiveino said.
Lichenfur hummed a little tune. “The road goes ever on and on, down from the door where it began…” He sang. He had just entered the woods when a loud crack sounded. Lichenfur crouched, ready to fight, when from behind a tree came a golden horse, with a funny head. There seemed to be a long white horn on it. Lichenfur stood up as the unicorn begin to speak. “I am so relived that you’re not one of those bumbling disfigured fools.” The majestic beast said. “I am to.” Lichenfur said with a smile. “I’m Lichenfur, and who might you be?” He asked politely. “Finally!” Said the unicorn “Some manners! I am Goldenpearl, daughter of Goldensun. I’m a princess.” She said as she looked regally down on the wolf. “Heir to the throne.” Lichenfur bowed politely. “Your highness,” He said, but the princess waved him off. “Well, I will be,” Goldenpearl said, “when I prove I am able to rule. I’m supposed to stop a wolf mage, by the name of Gondiveino.” Lichenfur gasped. “I am trying to do the same!” He said, but before Goldenpearl could answer, two malformed beings leapt at them. “I’ll protect you!” Lichenfur said as he leapt in front of Goldenpearl and snarled.
Bumken sneered. “Look Clagrge the little wolfie is snarling at us. “ Clagrge nodded “Uh, yeah Bumken.” He said. “You fools!” Gondiveino said, his voice had a crystalline ring to it “He can kill you now! I knew I should have cut out your tongues!”
Goldenpearl whinnied “Say their names! Lichenfur, say their names!” Lichenfur nodded. “Not yet…” he said. The ghouls where hitting each other. “Now! Bumken, Clagrge, die! “ His eyes flashed, and the ghouls fell dead. Goldenpearl trotted over to the bodies and touched her horn to the corpses. They disintegrated, leaving a minty smell. “I suggest we fight Gondiveino together. We make a good team.” Goldenpearl said. Lichenfur nodded. “Well then, what are we waiting for?” The two adventurers set off.
Gondiveino glowered. Lichenfur had killed off his last minions. It wasn’t as if Gondiveino liked those fools, but they had been essential to his plans. No matter what Lichenfur wasn’t going to leave this castle alive. Gondiveino glared and began to make his preparations for his guests.
Lichenfur and Goldenpearl had arrived at the castle. “What do we do?” Goldenpearl said looking at the gates. “We knock.” Said Lichenfur, and did just that. The massive doors swung open and the intrepid two steeped inside. Looking around the empty and dusty room Goldenpearl said “Nice place.” “Nice-ice place-ace” Said the walls. Lichenfur smiled “Echo!” he yelled “Buzz off Lichenfur” Said the walls. Blinking in shock he looked at Goldenpearl. She shrugged and said “Mage’s castle remember?” Lichenfur nodded. “Oh yes.” The two preceded though the castle.
Gondiveino was waiting for them when they arrived in the tallest tower in the castle. Lichenfur growled as he saw his old nemesis. Gondiveino sneered. “Only one of us is ever going to leave this room Lichenfur!” he said. “And it’s not going to be you!” Lichenfur growled. “It’s not going to be you either! Let’s end this!” Goldenpearl reared up and said. “It’s to the death. You may use magic, sick mage.” Gondiveino turned his lip up in revulsion. “So be it.”
((Following battle scene edited out because of graphic contant. Blood and gore, and stuff like that))
Gondiveino and Lichenfur where in bad shape. Neither one was going to make it, and the evil mage knew it. With his last breath, Lichenfur called out “Go Goldenpearl! Run!” As Goldenpearl ran away from the castle, the mage drew in his power and explode, wiping the ancient castle from the earth.
Lichenfur was victorious, but the cost was his live. He died in the castle with Gondiveino, so the unicorns and wolves could live in peace.
And this has no power playing in it! The are all original charterers!
