a) laugh, b) cry, c) scream at the book, and/or d) throw the book at the wall because you hate how it ended.
» you read so late into the night that you lose track of time, and end up staying up till like three AM.
» you've read a book cover to cover in one sitting.
» you've fallen in love with a fictional character.

is this one good? It's about the Holocaust, right? I've been thinking about reading it, but haven't gotten around to it yet. My waiting list of books-to-be-read is pretty long as it is XD
SenseiHatoriSohma wrote:GRRRR... that was hard now i need a good book to go read... *cries* no ideas. What books do you guys recommend to read?
Just read a really stupid one cuz my friends thought they were amazing. One word HORRIBLE!

huh. What book was that? In my mind it fits the bill of Maximum Ride... (as smiley said above).
Okay *turns into magical librarian of awesomeness* have you read the Hunger Games? It's fantastic, it really is. And just because Stephanie Meyer liked it doesn't mean it's one of those sappy Twilight novels. FAR from it. and have you read The Book Thief? That is an AMAZING novel... it's about a girl in germany in the holocaust, narrated by death. It's beautiful, heartwrenching, and the writing style is so compelling... *tears up remembering book*. Oh, and When You Reach Me has GOT to be one of my favorite books of all time. It's a cross between mild sci-fi and realistic fiction. And no, despite it's title that makes it sound like one, it isn't a romance novel. :D

Oh, by the way, in this army I officially declare myself Supreme Dictator For Life. I shall chose two Mini-Dictators after a while of watching you guys post. XD

smileyranger wrote:Jabberwocky, I'm really liking it! Thankfully It's good! (unlike that horrid maximum ride)
Wow, how do you maintain all of these threads? I can barely handle my little forum and RP!
:3 I'll try to keep up with this thread!

yay! Hopefully I shall make a Hunger Games fanatic out of you yet.. mwahahaha 8-)

So, what title do we call the supreme dictator jabberwock?
Hey, last night, mom made me quit reading The Hunger Games. It was funny because I was playing my mandolin, reading, and trying to type with the tuning pegs on it....*nerd watch*. :P.
Oh, did I mention I was playing tetris too? XD

Oh gosh.. the book thief would be one of those "depressed for days" books, definitely. But it was so good... *starts tearing up again*

Oh, I just remembered another one of my favorite books! the tale of desperaux! *runs off to edit book list*

My brother keeps trying to get me to read Watership Down, but I haven't done it yet.. perhaps I shall soon. :P

;3; Tamed needs a new book to read. Like. Now. Have you red Chains by Laurie Halse Anderson? I loved it, but it's so sad though. D'x
Have you guys read Fable Haven?

I love Chains! :D I just read it a couple months ago.. it was really really sad :( po' po' Curzon... there's a sequel to it now; it's called Forge. I haven't read it yet, though.

*turns into magical librarian of awesomeness*
I see that you have Smiles to Go on your favorite book list; that was written by Jerry Spinneli, the awesomest writer of all time. If he wrote it, I'll read it. :D Have you read Stargirl? That is a fantastic book by him. I cried at the end... *feels like an overly-emotional pansy*

You know, I think I started the first Fablehaven book a few years ago, but I only read the first two or three pages because I had gotten five or six other books from the library and didn't have time to finish it.. is it good?

I haven't read Chains, but I have read Wintergirls, which is by the same author, and I REALLY loved that book.

Yes, it's very good. It's written by a Holocaust surviver, so it's definitely not a light book... It does tend to leave you depressed for a few days. BUT it's really good. It's a really powerful book. =D

Watership down is good too, but don't let the fact that it's about bunnies make you think that it's light and cheery. xD There's some creepy stuff in there.
