Just had the conscious realization that "quality of life improvements" can actually be called "design improvements" or "human-computer interaction improvements".
It really friggin' sucks that things need names to be legitimate, but since this is the world I live in, I gotta roll with it.
So having an actual official(ish) name for stuff that seemed unofficial... I am OVER THE MOON about this. (Plus I love that I get to rub it into people's faces that the reason they never heard of this being legitimate is NOT that I alone am having selfish hallucinations. Surprise, peeps! I'm not the only one to think it's serious! Enough people think it's serious to the point where it's got a name!)
Like hey, human-computer interaction IS A THING, they have an entire program dedicated to that at Carnegie Mellon University (has one of THE top computer science programs in the world), and even at my not-as-good-as-CMU university we have a popular course about it and many CS professors here who really believe this.
Good design is also a thing. Sometimes I really don't like the general populace but one thing that they don't deserve to be blamed for is being "bad" at making poorly-designed technology work. See "The Design of Everyday Things" by Don Norman.

Spread the word to end the word, because discrimination based on perceived or actual IQ/"intelligence" is no better than discrimination based on race, gender, etc.
Context, consistency, and clear antecedents are golden.
I neither read nor speak between the lines. But I will analyze your language.Often on phone
