Reede
I don't switch up, I just laugh,
Put my kicks up on their desk, unaffected by their threats.

Reede arrived at the large coliseum with the falling of the sun, and three sets of reins in his two hands. His brown hair was swept up from the wind and his clothes were dust stained from the three days travel he’d just done. His beasts were obviously as exhausted as he was.

The large brown horse that walked to his right had it’s head held low, the two great horns that rose from between it’s ears nearly scarping the dirt up. His hooves were barely alive, only small sparks coming from them, whereas they usually emitted small, continual streams of flame and his long, furred tail was making a line in the dirt behind him.

The dragon, which was also the largest of the three and seemed to be having the least trouble, was still in no condition to race. His wings hung limply at his sides and though his head was held proudly, his eyes were glazed with a look of sleep. The mighty beast looked as if it were sleepwalking and the once bright lines across it’s back that looked like magma was about to burst from within the dragon’s skin, were dull though they looked to be breathing still. It’s great black feet were being drug across the dirt as if he hadn’t the energy to walk and he’d cast a glance to the sky every so often, but even he knew he didn’t have the strength to lift off.

The finally beast, a creature that looked much like a horse, only with claws and webbing between it’s toes was by far the worst of the trio. Its aqua color skin was dry and cracked and it’s breath was moving as it had to by some kind of machine. The great fins that rose from its shoulder blades and the sides of its hips were shriveled looking and they hung down to this poor creature’s feet. The fins that rose from the forehead weren’t nearly as shriveled though they were still limp and seemed small for such a large horse. The tail of this odd, yet magnificent beast ended in a large fin that drug across the ground rather then standing up straight like it should’ve. The beast’s head was in the middle of being proudly held and sadly drug as she made an effort to keep at least some kind of morsel of her pride.

Reede looked at his companions and a sad frown alighted his lips, “Hang on you three, we’re almost there..” The leather straps around his hips grew irritable as he continued his walk toward the large stable just on the horizon. Their pace hurried as they all registered that their journey was coming to a close. “Troj, Volk, Mauk. It’s time to show all those other we’re here to win...”

When the four arrived, they went straight to the stables and Reede put Troj and Volk into two stables, each suited for their species and gave each some food, which contained different ingredients for each, and dugs large holes to fill with water for each. “Keep that breath of yours to yourself, Troj. We don’t want you destroying the stable. Remember. Don’t set the wood to flame.” He ran a hand down each of their faces then turned to Mauk who was in a terrible condition as of now. She’d never been this long without a dip into some kind of water. Reede gave a worried sigh then rushed her to the river that ran through the coliseum grounds. There were wooden holding pens within the river for the competitors water creatures and Reede quickly ushered Mauk into one and smiled as the beast leapt into the water. Reede moved to the edge of the water and looked down at her, amazed at how fast her fins healed themselves. The cracks that were once deep embedded into her skin were now being pushed away and her fins were standing like they were supposed to. Mauk swam to the surface and laid her head down on Reede’s knee and made an odd braying sound then dipped back down into the water. Reede was touched by the rare motion from Mauk but returned the gesture with a small pat to her forehead.

Once Mauk was settled in though, Reede had to get himself settled. He found where he was supposed to be, after locking all his beasts up and saying goodnight then washed himself and his leather clothing in the best way he could. Reede stumbled through most of this routine, his eyes nearly closed through seventy five percent of it.

Reede finally found his way over to his mat on the floor and let his weight drop. His shoulder hit the floor rather roughly and there was a loud thud as it made contact. Reede’s face flinched but within the next few quick moments he was past out.

.-.-.-.-.-

Reede woke with the sun, still tired but not nearly as exhausted as the night before. Today was the day of the first race. It wasn’t exactly a race though, because this was a hunt. Right off the bat the people that held these races held a hunt so the competitors could get to know their opponents. It was a nice set up, seeing as new people arrived every year.

The man hopped out of his small tent like room, his tan hair throwing strand after strand into his hazel eyes. He made his way toward the stables. He had to get Troj ready. Reede had to admit that he was rather nervous about this first hunt, since Troj was rather new to this whole business. It was the first year that Reede had brought him, but he felt like the horse was ready for this. Though hunting was his worst aspect, he could still handle himself.

When Reede reached the stable, he looked in to find Troj still asleep and Reede bit down on his lip. Should he take the horse that often faltered or had angry outbursts? His eyes turned to Volk who was wide awake, sitting in the corner of his stall and staring at Reede, his gold eyes sparkling with want yet patience. Reede sighed as he whistled, waking Troj and stepped into the stall. The horse pranced around him, wide awake in mere seconds and ready to start his training.

It was odd, seeing Reede so mellow and… miserable. He lifted a hand and grasped one of Troj’s horns, “Not today buddy. You get to race, I’m gonna take Volk on this one.” The horse stopped all movement and stared at Reede, intelligence in his eyes that other beasts just never seemed to obtain. His mood was instantly different as he turned and paced toward the back of his stall and lay down.

Volk of course, was at the front of his stall, still staring intently at Reede. With one last pathetic sight, Reede left Troj’s stall and grabbed Volk, throwing his saddle and other equipment on. Right as he had finished, a voice called throughout the grounds, “It’s time to start the races! The first even to take place with be a grand hunt! The competitors will be Soun, Reede, Kieran, Cyri, Crest and Nateria!” Reede listened closely as the voice spoke; they were about to announce the pairs… the hunts always had pairs. His fists clenched tightly around the rein that was in one hand as it went on, “The pairs for this hunt will be as follows. Soun with be placed with Kieran… Reede will be placed with Cyri… and Nateria will be placed with Crest! The competitors need to come to the coliseum at this time to find their partners! Someone will be waiting for you there to explain the goal of this challenge.”

The voiced stopped and Reede placed a hand over his heart. It was pounding and he glanced over his shoulder to see several people gathering their beasts of all sorts to get ready for this hunt... Was one of them Cyri? Reede gulped as he shrugged it off and hopped into the saddle that was on Volk’s back, “Remember, no flying today Volk.” In response the dragon let a tiny flame escape his jaws. He trusted Volk with this… Now it was time to see if his trust was in the right place.

Reede made his way to the coliseum on Volk, who walked with an oddly smooth gait. Once inside, surprised to find himself the first one there, he took a small card that had his name written in scratchy letters and put the string over Volk’s neck. Reede hopped off the dragon and stood behind him as he awaited the others. His hands were sweaty and he wiped them on the leather encasing his chest as he waited for this Cyri person. What if her beast was the downfall of them…? Reede was rather glad that he left Troj at the stable for a quick moment. He stopped thinking about the horse as he looked around for the others, “Come’on out Cyri. Time to meet the winner of these races.”

((Talk about a long post. O_O Sorry. I put all the names into a randomizer and made the pairs based off of that. Hope everyone's alright with this, I wanted to open with something that would MAKE us interact. :3))

    [[ *squee!!* Yay, we're starting! :D ]]

She walked at a slow pace, the trio of beasts close behind. Her fire-orange hair blew behind her as the wind cooled down their faces and bodies. It had been a long journey, and they were all beat. "Hang in there, guys," Cyri spoke, after a very long period of silence, "just a little more, we can do it." She pivoted around and began to walk backwards, giving her friends a reassuring smile. Venus, Cyri's trusty Simurgh, gave a weak cry, but still with a bell that touched Cyri; Laika, Cyri's beloved water beast, a Leviathan, swam in the winding river next to them; Vulkun, Cyri's ferocious demon-wolf/dog hybrid, a Warg, made no sound, only continuing to drag its feet and made a deep eye contact with Cyri. He had been doing this often for a while now, but Cyri couldn't figure it out.

Just as the large coliseum broke in the horizon, the river that Laika had been swimming in ended. "Sorry girl," Cyri said. "Looks like you'll have to go on land for a while." The serpent let out a tiny noise of its mouth (which couldn't be classified as a whimper, nor a call, nor a roar of any sort), then nodded; and with that, she went underwater, then quickly lept out of the water, landing with a large "thud!" on the ground. The water slapped against the river banks, some even leaking onto the land. "Showoff," Cyri teased, giving Laika a wink. Laika seemed to chuckle.

"But hey guys, lookie there!" Cyri exclaimed, pointing to the huge building in the distance. Everyone seemed to perk up a bit, and their paces seemed to quicken. The coliseum meant food, water, and rest. As the quartet neared the coliseum, Cyri asked, "Wanna get water fresh from the river that surrounds it? It'll probably take a little longer to get it inside, since we'll have to fill up somethin' with the water." But before she could finish, the three monsters were already headed there. When they arrived at its banks, Vulkun began to growl, his fur on his neck standing up straight; there was another person in the distance. "Vulkun, quit it." The warg continued to growl. "Vulkun, enough!" She said, trying to push him away. He wouldn't budge. Cyri began to walk away with the Laika and Venus. "Japaq, japaq!" she hissed, followed by a whistle. Hesitantly, Vulkun followed.

After taking large gulps of the water, Cyri lead her friends into their stables. "Vulk, here's your pen, Laika yours, and Venus, yours." She smiled at the three, gave them each their special food provided, and fetched some fresh water for them each. After that, she got some food and drink herself, and nestled into her own sleeping area where she quickly fell asleep.

    ***

Cyri was up bright and early like always, eating some breakfast she had brought with her, - some toast - she heard the loudspeaker announce her name, along with her partner's. "Wow, so soon? Now let's see.. the event is a hunt. So that means that it's Vulkun's time to shine." With a satisfied smile, she went to fetch him. "Hey, Vulkun, rise and shine! You're up first!"
Vulkun raised his head sleepily, groaning at first, but then getting a sparkle in his eyes. He had been waiting to show everyone that he could do this! He stood up quickly, stretching and shaking out his pelt. He gave a playful-like bark.
"Woah, woah!" Cyri laughed. "I haven't seen you like this since you were just a little pup!" Giving him some food, along with the other two who were still asleep, she saddled up the warg, and rode him out to the stadium.

"Okay, so the announcer said Reede." Twisting her body around, she saw more than one competitor. "Um.. okay then. Is there a Reede around here?" Cyri yelled through her cupped hands, hoping it would make her louder.

[-Kieran McClain-]
Oh my! | *Feels just like I don't try *
Looks so good i might die | All i know is everybody loves me!

+ It was well into the night that Kieran McClain and his trio of beasts found their way to the arena's gates. Why it had taken them this long was certainly something Mr. McClain would never tell. He had gotten lost, not that he would ever admit it.

"Ya like it better this way, eh lass?" He affectionately glanced over to the closest of the beasts, her body dripping with water even though a normal horse would have long since dried itself. The Kelpie pawed at the ground and gave a whinny whicker, ears staying backwards at the sound of her master's voice. If Kieran noticed he hardly gave any indication, tugging at the three sets of reins as they walked through the gates.

The beasts gave hardly a struggle as they were soon tucked away in their respective stables. The Puca, Ciardha, least of all. He gratefully retreated into his stable's darkest corner, seeming to be showing his master that he was thoroughly done with traveling and wanted the rest of the night to recuperate.
Mavoureen timidly took her place in the river-side holding area, worriedly glancing after Kieran as he left her there. He worried over her the most, though even he was not sure why all of the time. She would be fine there for the night though, at least he hoped as much.

"An' nah for you, ya big 'ole lizard." Kieran smiled wryly at Liadan, knowing the oilliphéist would find someone way of causing trouble before the night was out. As they came back upon the holding area for those things that could stand being away from water, Liadan butt her head against Kieran's back, pushing him inside the stable instead of herself. " 'Ey!" Kieran laughed, tugging sharply on her reins, "None o' tha' now."

With his beasts in place, Kieran quickly retreated to his own quarters, grateful to sleep after their journey. Maybe being late would not be such a terrible thing, at least this way there was no time for idle chatter with the competition. They'd just have to wake up to find their biggest threat suddenly there.

+ “It’s time to start the races! The first even to take place with be a grand hunt!" The words reverberated in Kieran's ears, pulling him from his deep sleep. With a yelp, he scrambled to his feet, hastening to get himself ready in the littlest amount of time as possible. How had he managed to do this?! Hearing his name being called once again, Kieran raced for the stables. The fact being that obviously horses - or most equines in general - could not hunt left him with the obvious option, Liadan.
"Well arent ya just tha luckiest lass today." He smirked, wishing the first race did not have to be with her. Kieran loved every last one of them, that much was more than true, some though, he could not help loving less.

"Look 'ere, eh?" Kieran explained to the dragon as he began to doll her up in tack. She was not making it any easier, acting like an over excited puppy as her entire body wagged with her tail. "Ah dun 'ave the time ta feed ya, but when we're all finished, then ah'll feed ya."

Liadan did not seem at all to care, practically dragging the still tired Kieran towards the arena. Whoever his partner was would just have to find Kieran on his own. The man was not at all keen on having to work with anyone other than his own, especially not when it was Liadan he was riding and the first race.

Not wanting to appear out of place, Kieran was quick to find himself some trouble to stir up. "Nah," He answered the woman who had been shouting for someone by the name of Reede. "But ah'd 'appily team up with ya if'n ya cant fin' him." He smiled flirtatiously as he leaned against Liadan's broad leg in what he thought a very fetching fashion.

        [Wheeeeeee long post is long.]

Shadows all around you as you surface from the dark
Emerging from the gentle grip of night's unfolding arms
Darkness, darkness everywhere, do you feel all alone?
The subtle grace of gravity, the heavy weight of stone

-----------------
you are the moon

You don't see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear
It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a chandelier
All the light that you possess is skewed by lakes and seas
The shattered surface, so imperfect, is all that you believe

♆ ↜ Soun ↝ ♆
╯ ╰

♅ : . : ♅ : . : ♅ : . : ♅

The continual, rhythmic thuds of Jiji's hooves pounding into the ground along with the comforting creaking of his leather tack had lulled Soun into an almost meditative state. The ride had been long and hard, her tribe living on the outskirts of the land, nearly an entire weeks journey away. Though her tribe had come to watch the races, she still had to ride alone. If she could not even make it by herself, she was not good enough to participate in the games at all.

With every canter or Jiji's hooves, he gave a shallow, strained pant, wads of frothed saliva dropping from his gaping maw. He was exhausted, Soun knew, but he would recover quickly over the night. He was a herd animal, he was used to harrowing treks over terrain. Soun gave a strained noise in the back of her throat as she felt Jiji move from underneath her, the huge pack beast being tugged off to the side by another force. Her thighs clamped down quickly as Soun avoided being tossed off, her hands grappling for the saddle.

Face flushed red in anger as she reached behind her to grab a thickly bound rope that shot upwards into the sky, the end of which was securely tied to a ring on the back of the saddle. Giving it a tug her eyes shot towards the heavens to view the second beast in her pack. Her angry words died in her throat as she watched Havana tilt off to the side a little more. 'He is waning.' Came her tempered thoughts, her mood dipping with the edges of Havana's wings.

It didn't surprise her, though, as her eyes caught onto the main reason her beast was so tired. Clutched and partially tied to her flying beast's feet was an incredibly large glass orb, the top freely open, however. And there, resting in the bottom, was her third beast for the races. 'At least he had an easy ride.' She mused, slightly put-out as she remember how Nan-Tuk had simply slept his way through the entire journey.

Her attention whipped back to the space in front o her, however, as she felt Jiji step up in pace. Giving a soft chuckle and a relief filled smile, Soun gazed upon the stable. Reaching behind her, she gave a rough tug on the rope attached to Havana.

"Havana! Down!" She cried, giving her beast the command it had been waiting to hear. Soun saw immediate results as Havana swooped down to the ground, the glass bowl being unceremoniously dropped to the ground when it was only a few scant feet away from it. The bowl crashed into the dirt, skidding along the ground as its contents where shaken violently, causing Soun to grimace at Havana's lack of grace or care. The glass orb left a trailing rivet behind it before it finally tipped over, sending a rush of water from its insides along with Nan-Tuk.

Havana did not care, though, simply landing beside the now hissing and snarling Nan-Tuk, his beak dropped to to lap at the quickly disappearing water. Sophie gave Jiji's reins a quick tug, pulling him to a stop. Leaning down, she gave his sweaty shoulder a hearty pat before she let herself slide off of his saddle. She was instantly rewarded with a delighted groan.

"I'm not that fat." She huffed to her pack beast, pulling the reins over his head. She turned her attention back to the stables, however, as she heard the approach of more people.

"Ah! Don't touch that one!" Sophie warned as a stable hand made to grasp at Havana's lead rope. "Take this one." She said, offering up Jiji's reins to the boy. "Leave the other two." She finished with a side glance at Nan-Tuk. Normally she wouldn't have minded someone taking care of him, but by the snapping and growling, she didn't think Nan-Tuk was happy about his rough landing and rude awakening. She didn't want to take any chances.

Striding forwards, she couldn't help but grimace as her raw thighs rubbed together. 'I should not have sworn shorts, but it is far too hot for pants.' Sophie moaned to herself as she cast a look down at her leather shorts. With a huff she grabbed Havana's lead rope, giving a grunt as she had to physically yank his head away from the now moist dirt he had been scratching up in a search for water.

"There's some in the stables." She moaned to him, not in the mood to deal with this. With a few more yanks, she managed to get Havana into his new stable area, though she new it was only that easy because he was so exhausted. Going back out to the front, she found a slightly more calm, but just as grouchy Nan-Tuk waiting for her. Giving his left head a pat, she gave a soothing sigh as she felt the right snake behind her back, enveloping her into an odd hug. She simply leaned against the beast, his cold, wet fur doing wonders for her sweaty and overheated body.

"Come on now, I need to get some sleep in." She finished with a yawn, tugging Nan-Tuk towards his pond for the duration of the race. She slipped seamlessly into the water, immediately slipping down towards the bottom to get back to sleep. With a content sigh, Soun found her own bed just as easily and quickly fell asleep, still clad in her dirty, sweaty clothing.

♅ : . : ♅ : . : ♅ : . : ♅

Soun had been up early the next morning, rising with the sun was her tribes way. Her bones had creaked and her muscles had screamed, but a relaxing bath had but most of her pains to sleep. She had quickly checked on her beasts after that, having found all of them still asleep apart had made her relax a little more. the rest of the morning had been spent going over her usual routine and preparing and double checking all of her beasts tack.

"I guess it's time to mount up." Soun murmured to herself, Jiji's saddle sat across her lap as she rubbed a thick fatty like grease into the surface, softening the leather and keeping it in tip-top condition. She was tucked away in a quiet corner, out of the hustle and bustle of the main section of the stable, she was less likely to be disturbed here. She watched some of the other competitors flit back and forth as they got ready, prompting Soun to stand up and wander into Jiji's stable.

Finding him as docile and as stoic as ever did wonders for Soun's nerves. Though Soun was a champion of her own tribes games and races, she had never competed in anything like this before. She had heard stories of the races, some fantastic, some frightening. To see Jiji simply chomping on some hay was relaxing, as she tossed on his tartan saddle blanket before strapping him into his own tack.

As she lead Jiji out of his stable, she walked right past Havana's. With a quick glance in she gave a sigh of relief as she found the intimidating bird still asleep. 'Lets hope he stays like that for awhile.' She thought as she broke out of the stable, quickly mounting Jiji. She moved him easily through his warm-up, loosening up his legs and muscle so he wouldn't injure himself. He showed no signs of a rough ride like many beasts would after a week long journey over harrowing terrain.

Once she felt Jiji was amped enough, she made her way to where she needed to be, picking up all of the things she needed. But as the announcer read out the pairings, Sophie could not help but grimace. Kieran was a predominantly male name, though there was at least one girl in her tribe with that name. 'I pray to the Great Mother that it is a female.' Sophie hoped, the last thing she needed was an incompetent male who didn't know which end of the spear could cut you.

Her attention was caught, however, as she heard an oddly accented voice pipe up. Glancing over to the male in question, Soun felt the bottom of her stomach fall out as her upper lip curled back in a slightly disgusted snarl. 'That is no way to treat a woman.' She growled to herself as she looked upon her partner, the first thing she had spotted had been his 'name tag.'

"You." Was how she addressed him as she pulled Jiji up in front of him, her own mount towering over the man, though Soun paid no attention to Kieran's stead. "I am your partner for the hunt." She finished quickly, in no mood to converse with him too much. Not that she would even know how. Sophie was unaware if males held the same conversations as females, she doubted she would have anything in common with him at all anyway.

The large arenas and courses lay in the near distance from Nateria and her three beasts. After several days of trekking, they were finally within sight of their destination. “Well, Octavius, are you ready for all of this?” She reached down to pat the sleipnir, her beast that she had ridden most of the way. He was the best fit for riding long distances, he could keep a steady pace for a long way, and was comfortable. Hurricane was alright to ride, but Nat didn’t need to stress him out with any more burden then he already had. Of all of them, Hurricane had the most delicate mind. And Spectrum, well, she would become testy if Nat rode her for more than a few hours, as well as it would be more exhausting for her.

Soon the quartet neared the arenas, and it was still only mid- afternoon. The first place that Nat headed for was the water stalls. Putting Hurricane away first was her priority, for if he saw how many other beasts were here he might become nervous.

“Good boy, Hurricane.” She patted him as she took off his headgear so he could enter the water. Hurricane slipped into the water with a small splash, dipped below the surface for a few minutes before resurfacing near Nat. One of his heads reached out to nudge her gently, causing her to take a step back with a laugh. “You’re happy, are you?” She patted his head gently before scratching the soft scales on his head near his neck. “Now, I’m taking Octavius and Spectrum to the stable, but I’ll be back, alright, mighty beast?” She told him. With a last pat she turned to leave after closing the gate behind her.

Nat untied her other two beasts from the waiting post where she had left them and walked towards the stable. Even though they had been travelling for days, Octavius somehow still found the energy to prance around like a yearling, head held high and nostrils flaring.

“Calm down, horse!” Nat told him, pulling on the reins a bit to try and get him to focus on her. She might as well have been some kind of bug, because he didn’t even flick his ears in her direction. Instead, he let out a high-pitched, shrill whinny announcing his presence. “Octavius!” Nat said sharply, still trying to get him to focus. “Everyone will know who you are tomorrow if we win, but wasting your energy now won’t help!” She scolded. Slowly he lowered his head and slowed to a normal walk, as if he understood what she was saying.

After Nat settled her beasts into their stalls, fed them and did a final cleaning of her tack, she went back to visit Hurricane once more and feed him, too. By that time it was nearly dark, and she only had enough time to get herself some dinner before going to bed.

*~*~*

Bright and early the next morning Nat was in the stables feeding Spectrum and Octavius. Spectrum was her usual self, not caring much about the activity going on around her, but it was obvious that Octavius was eager to start the races.

“I’m sorry, fella, but this isn’t your turn today.” She scratched his forehead. “You don’t hunt, Hurricane does. So you just wait for your turn, boy.” She told her sleipnir. She loved all her beasts, but because Octavius had been hers since he was a foal he had a special spot in her heart.

Nat headed over to Hurricane who had just finished his breakfast. The night before she had left out his food for a stable hand to feed him. Unlike some beasts, Nat had trained hers to be calm enough for other people to handle with relative safety. After hearing the announcement a little while before, Nat knew who her hunting partner was, and that she needed Hurricane ready now. His tack only took a few minutes to put on, the head piece only going on one of his heads. Hurricane's heads worked in a way that one was a sort of 'leader' and the rest sort of just did what they were told. He never argued with himself, and all the heads had the same personality. Any information that the heads picked up was sent to the main head for processing, and Hurricane acted from there.

"You're a strong beast, and you can win this." Nat told him confidently while she finished preparing. Together, the two headed for the arena where they would find their partner. "We're ready." Nat was relaxed. Surprisingly enough, Hurricane wasn't as nervous as he usually was, he was fairly relaxed.

Now, where's this Crest? Nat wondered as she searched through the other people and beasts. Most people had flying or grounded beasts, but because of Hurricane's build he was fine out of water too. He could breath air, and had claws that were great on land as well.

[[OOC: Thank you those of you who were so tolerant of my muse ;A; I hope this is correct, I was a bit confused as to how the water transports were coming in.
-runs off to post on the RV roleplay-]]

Daniel "Crest" Royale
Ferine, Kirin, Ground | Keltrie, Griffin, Flight | Pini, Leviathan, Water

The fair skinned male clutched the reins of Ferine, his Kirin and ground transport, as they neared the area in which tie would be competing. One hand gently brushed through the female beast's thick bring orange mane, stroking down the hair as they tried to untangle the strands. Crest's head was peeking out from behind Ferine's horn, as he watched the arena come in to sight. Wind ran across his body, as he glanced down towards Pini, who was quietly slithering next to him through the water leading to the stalls.
Then he turned his attention towards Keltrie, watching the Griffin gracefully glide through the air with outstretched wings. The man smiled at his three beasts, and then squeezed his heels in to Ferine's side. She started to pick up speed, moving her legs viciously.

As the four neared the stables. of which there were three different types, Crest started to debate which of his creatures to put in first. Finally choosing Ferine, the man slowly struggled off the Kirin, as she fidgeted nervously, glancing around the stables. Crest was quick to grasp the reins, and haul his ground racer in to the stables she was to stay at, "Be good Ferine, I don't need you causing trouble for this group." The master quickly commanded his creature, starring in to her eyes for a moment. But he was quickly off to go place Pini and Keltrie.

Crest glanced over to his Leviathan, whistling to the sea serpent, who turned his head and quickly paddled over his trainer. Pini lowered his head, letting the man gently rub his hand over the scales which were wet and smooth, but he felt no thick liquid, slime, on them. "Come Pini, we need to get you to the water stables before you die in this heat." Crest was exaggerating of course - Pini would be fine in the heat for a while longer, and most definitely would not die (Though sickness might have played in after many hours of stress).

The serpent flicked his tongue out once, brushing Crest's face lightly with it, and then turned to follow his master towards the aquatic stables.

After a melancholy parting with the Leviathan, Crest was out again calling to his dearest griffin, who came down landing behind his master with slitted eyes watching him. The man grinned at his beast, slipping the harness cautiously over the large creature's head, after all Keltrie's beak was quite sharp, and would have easily cut through human flesh if he snapped. Crest clicked his tongue, pulling Keltrie over to the flight stables, where he left the fella watching him until he was out of view.

Crest finally retired to his own bed, eager for tomorrows first event.

Crest rose just in time to round up Keltrie, though as he passed Ferine's stable he watched his female stare at his solemnly. He did his best to ignore the beast, not wanting to upset her further by going over only to leave without her.

The man quickly entered Keltrie's stable, glancing around to find his mighty Griffin curled up in the corner still asleep from yesterday's journey. I have my doubts, but Keltrie will be the least worn out of them. . . Crest reassured himself, snapping his fingers to wake Keltrie. "Come on Kelt, I need you awake for today." explained the trainer, pulling Crest's thick bridle and harness over his body. Avoiding the large lion claws, Crest straightened, rubbing his hands on his pants in an attempt to rid them of the straw.

he was off shortly, but was interrupted as the voice sounded, listing the partners. "So we're with a Nateria? You better behave Keltrie, I don't want you pulling any of your tricks today with me. When we have a partner, we'll let them decide what to do." Crest told his Griffin, gently stroking the thick feathers of Kelt's neck.

Their best chance was to find their partners at the arena, so the duo pushed on zooming towards the vast area.

Reede
I don't switch up, I just laugh,
Put my kicks up on their desk, unaffected by their threats.

Reede was leaning against Volk for only a few short moments when it seemed like a flood of people suddenly arrived and flooded the stadium. "Alrighty, Volk, time to find thi-" His name was called out but a female voice and he laughed a little, patting one of the many spikes on Volk's head, "Seems as if this has been made easier then I expected." Reede grabbed Volk's reins and walked toward the sound of the voice and when he found who he thought had made the sound he extended a hand, "Cyri. I'm Reede." He looked up at Volk, who was staring intently at the Warg Cyri had brought with her.

For once in his life, he thought he was seeing a cautious Volk. The dragon had his wings splayed slightly and his head was pulled up high. Even his tail was lifted off the ground rather then dragging behind him. Reede looked at Vulkun and laughed, "Come'on, Volk, don't be such a poor sport. This is your partner for this hunt. Deal with it." The dragon let out a deep hiss in response to Reede, though he kept his eyes glued to the Warg. Reede laughed again and scratched at his hair, "Sorry, Volk usually isn't like this. Seems your Warg has set him off. Never seen him like this."

Just then a man walked into the stadium, nicely dressed in cloths rather then leathers and appearing rather.. clean. His hair was a pale blond and his eyes were a sparkling blue. As Reede looked at him closer, he also noted that his skin was rather pale. These small details led Reede to believe the man was albino, a rather rare sight on the planet of Myzda. While Reede was examining this man, he began to speak in a loud, strong voice, "Alright, I need attention from all of you." His voice reminded Reede of the voice that was ringing throughout the stadium grounds, announcing the groups and who they'd be partied with.

"Now is the time that I will explain how this will work and what parties will be after which prey." All eyes were now on this man, including the beasts, because most them had intelligence enough to understand him themselves, "As you all know, this is a hunt, meaning you will be killing a creature with your mounts alone. Those of you with flying creatures, they mustn't lift off and those, or rather just you," He motioned toward Nateria with her hydra, "with your aquatic creature, I expect none of those odd gifts that such creatures posses. Oh and since your hydra has several heads, I expect only one to be used. When you've decided, I ask that you inform me." Reede nodded along with what the man was saying, it all seemed rather fair to him, but he heard a few people grumbling.

"As I was saying," The man made a dramatic wave of his hands then clasped them together in front of his waist, "In these hunts you will be killing creatures, like I've said, but each pair of two has a specific species to kill. One group shall have a Roc," He then gestured to his side where several men were leading a large Roc out, who seemed infuriated due to struggling he showed and the many ropes that were tied around his face and wings, "No need to worry though, for those who get this beast, for his wings have been clipped and he is unable to fly. Though he still poses a good threat. Going on. Another shall have a Chimera", Another gesture led to all eyes looking toward the pale blue lion being drug into the stadium. Horns basically encased it's head and his front longs had long, sharp dragon claws while the back were thick goat hooves. The tail of this beast wondered on it's own, it's fiery eyes staring the competitors down. Both the lion half and the snake half were muzzled and they had been chained up around the body. It was a large Chimera, and rather then fire that would've come from the dragon half of such a creature, ice seemed to flow from it's jaws. Both muzzles had ice dripping from the holes and crannies. "There shall also be a Crocotta," The dog came out just like the others, struggling and bound by ropes. Men were at the ends of each rope, some with more then others, but all looking terrified, "You will all need to consider your options, teams will be picked and the first team will pick the beast they wish to kill first.. Once all have decided, you will mount up and then these three will be let loose to wreck havoc on you all. The first to kill their target will get the highest points available for reward." He paused and Reede looked around nervously, "The order the teams will pick will be.. First Crest and Nateria, then Saun and Kieran and finally Reede and Cyri."

Reede looked over at Cyri and laughed nervously, "Looks like we get the worst of the three.. Though they'll all be equally as challenging. Even that Unicorn looks tough. It's bound to give up a fight.." Reede bit on his lower lip as he debated and waited for the first team to step up and give their decision.

((Whew.. And omg, sorry, I totally forgot to have Reede acknowledge Kieran when he found Cyri. q.q Also, I put the teams into a randomizer to figure out what team chose what first. If anyone can think of something better then a Unicorn to have killed here, just say something. It seems rather easy compared to a Roc and Crocotta. xD
To get this over with quickly I'd Gwen and Toppy should either Pm/OOC decide then RP that out nice and quickly rather then going through four or five posts to make up a decision, then Clowesia and Bear once they see that decision and me and Kitteh just have to deal with leftovers. xD But whatever floats your guys's boat, I'd be okay with. :3))
