Welcome to a story about a little Tattletail who was just like you. Just like all of you.
Once, I met a small Tattletail. About your size, but bigger, and yet smaller all at the same time. Their fur was blue and their fur was green, it was pink and it was orange and it was every colour all at the same time because this Tattletail wasn't any normal Tattletail. Now, this Tattletail is somewhere off in the world at the moment, I don't know where, but, I will tell you their story. This Tattletail was made after one of the machines got slightly broken and assembled their circuit box wrong. Their fur lit up in different colours and yet the same colour and their eyes were the most beautiful things you've ever seen. Their eyes, their eyes, I could go into so much detail, and yet I can't because I don't know how to even begin to describe them. They were every colour and no colour, they were bright and beautiful and yet they were soulless. This Tattletail was everything and nothing at the same time. When they were made, the factory owner decided that they were so beautiful that whilst they were not a correct Tattletail, containing discontinued traits and yet no traits all at once, their broken circuit board meant that they could not be released.. As a fully functioning Tattletail anyway. Instead, they were named and sold for a higher price as a collector's item. The amount of houses they've been through is represented by the amount of names they've had but they must've had many, many more. A select few that i've been told by another mama's tape recorded by one of the previous owners of this special Tattletail are;
Ruby, Amethyst, Crystal, Blitz, X, Awe, Luck, Brilliance, Lucy, Sprint, Trip and Frazzle. According to the other Mama the way you see this Tattletail represents you, but because we are simply Tattletail we cannot see ourselves in one of our own. Now, this is the "problem" with this poor Tattletail. They went through so many owners because no one wanted to accept themselves. The poor Tattletail would say phrases like "sad", or "fake", and because these people heard themselves in those phrases they felt outed and so, the next hour, morning, night, day, week or month you'd be sure to see this poor Tattletail back on the market. One owner would buy them then sell them again for a slightly lower price, and this would happen at every house this Tattletail visited. They would be taken in warmly and admired.. Until they opened their mouth. Their owner would turn away from them and then sell them once more, but remember, this Tattletail wasn't allowed to be a Tattletail. They were a collectors item.
Until one day, their life continued like this. On that one day this Tattletail was purchased by a younger child.
An innocent child who had not yet been corrupted by the rest of the world and when the Tattletail said "fake" she didn't throw them out. She asked if they needed to talk about it, she comforted them and she told them with joy in her voice..
"You don't have to pretend around me."
And then, this Tattletail said "happy" they said they had finally found their home. And they didn't show any more emotion in their pattern. They became themself.
You will all find your best house someday, no matter how many you go through, just like Lucy.
