He moved his head to the side, adjusting in his chair uncomfortably. He was too confused for his liking, and the sudden mood swings, he realized, were beginning to wear him down.
He watched eagerly when she began to laugh again, relief pouring down on him.
His shoulders let down, his wings pressing closer to his frame.
"It's wonderful being in the sky, especially at night, when nothing can get to you. Nothing can reach you." He seemed to be getting lost in the thought, "But im not giving away everything, I'll let you see for yourself when I take you flying."
Murdock leaned back, spreading his wings slightly so he didn't crush them.
She seemed to understand what a horror attraction was now.
Now they were on the same page... He hoped.
"Yeah I know, I would. You just looked scared for a moment there. I didn't know if..." His mouth was left ajar, and then he felt stuck.
Like his words could no longer flow.
"Hey."
He jumped slightly, looking up to her.
Constantly, he was adjusting his collar. Even if it wasn't messed up, his fingers still pretended as if it was.
What would he say that didn't sound ridiculous?
That he thought he was a bad person?
That he was scared to hurt her?
That now she meant more to him than ever?
He stopped.
Why did she matter so much now, when nobody before her did?
He pressed his hand to his forehead trying to clear his mind.
"You're beautiful and its making me nervous." His eyes glanced up quickly before racing back to safety. He tilted his head down, hand still covering his eyes from her view.
"Now where's my penny? I'm poor I need it." He spoke quickly, his body frozen in place.

"I think you're beautiful in every form. I've never seen anything like your hybrid form before." She said, the hair behind her ear falling loose. "You've seen my wings, and I've seen you for who you are. Even if you're not attractive, which I swear you are, you're still a man with the biggest heart."
She inched closer to him.
"And your scars... They don't make you ugly. They're battle scars that show what you've survived, we all have them. Some in our hearts too."
She rested her head softly on his shoulder,
Her tattered wing wrapping around her.
He was right after all, she never needed that jacket.
