She looked out the window. She sipped her coffee

Jax looked as one of his friends appeared in the doors window. Jax sighed and walked over. He opened the door. He was talking quietly with the man outside.

She silently got up and listened to them. She was silent and was careful

"No. I am not going to let you stay here when you are running from the cops." Jax said. "Come on man. It is not like I have never let you stay with me. They went through my house." The guy said. Jax looked at him. "My girlfriend is a cop and I am not going to get her in trouble because of you staying here." Jax said back. The guy looked at him. "Then don't tell her." The guy said. Jax gave him a look. "She is here? Really dude? Tonight of all nights when you know that I was thinking about doing this? At least store the money. I will give you a cut for it." The guy said.

She glared at Jax. It hurt her that he might take it. She listened carefully.

Jax sighed. He clearly was not happy about this but the man kept insisting so he gave in. "Fine. But I want nothing to do with it. Put it in my car. It better be gone by 10 AM tomorrow." He said. He grabbed the keys off the counter and tossed him at the guy and waited for the man to come back with the key.

"Ahem." She coughed looking at him. "Just... how could you? " She looked, like angry, hurt and upset. "Well I get it now. I was just being used."

Jax heard her cough and knew he was in big trouble instantly. He turned around and looked at her. "No... babe... it is not like that at all... I just..." He said to her. "I am trying so hard to do better for you." He said and walked over. "Please... Don't leave. I love you so much and I will never drag you into this. You know that." He said to her.

"I can see pretty clearly. You've never loved me. After all the stuff I got you. What I got you back. I got you your own mother's necklace back. " She said looking at him. "I'll return the stuff of yours I had, as soon as I can. But I'm leaving. And we're done." She glared at him.

"N-no it is not that..." He said to her. "Please babe... I-I know I messed up and I will do whatever I can to fix it. To fix us. You just have to tell me what to do. He is not just any guy. I would have been able to not do it if it was anyone else. He just knows too much about my history for me to not do what he wants..." He said. "I do love you. I love you so much that I hate seeing you hurt and especally when it was me who did it. What can I do?" He asked her. This was the first time he had messed up since he had promised her and he was beating himself up about it. How could he be so weak? The man came back. "Here is your..." He started to say and Jax glared at him. "New plan get your money and get lost. I can't keep protecting you." He said. The man looked at Jax. "Then I will call the police." The man said and took out his phone and started calling. This is exactly what Jax had been trying to avoid but it was over. He would go to jail and lose the only person he loved. He said nothing to the man as the guy started talking and asked for the police chief. Jax looked at Mavis. "You should go before you get in trouble for being here." He said to her. He clearly still cared so much about her. He sat down and put his face on his knees and cried. This was a lot for him but he knew he deserved everything that was happening.
