Kiara padded out of her den, her belly swollen with Mottles pups. She sat down and serveyed the camp, so much had changed in the last two moons.

Her mate, Mottle had found a young dog looking for a place to stay, and now Karen was the most promising Irontooth...even if she was the only one. She was becoming friends with Xar, the shaman. They were about the same age, so they worked well together. Kiara had decided to move into a small cave, north-west of the waterfall, for her pups to be born into. She headed over there to get a drink of water.

The cool water filled her mouth and she fealt instantly better. She saw her love, Mottle, coming over the hill and she rushed to greet him. He nuzzled her softly and she murmured "how was the hunt?"

"Oh, it was fine,"he said."we downed a deer just off Raven point." They walked for a while, just chatting, it felt nice for Kiara to just chillax for a bit and have her mate to talk to.

Poppy yawned as Flash walked into camp accompanied by a new dog. She blinked at them. "Uh... Lily? Looks like you got a patient."

The white shaman bounded out of the medicine den, her tail brushing the stone walls. "What?" she asked, then stopped short as she spotted the new dog. "Okay, hello. What's your name?"

"Bumper." The young dog looked around. "Nice place this is."

"Well, you can join, I suppose... at least until you're better. But I warn you, if you infect somebody..." Poppy stared at Bumper and he flinched away.

"Well Flash let's head out," Poppy muttered to her Beta.

Bumper followed Lily into the den and started sniffing around at the herbs.

"Don't touch anything unless I give it to you," Lily snapped. The normally patient shaman was wary around newcomers.

Bumper nodded, gazing in surprise at the female. He sat down, waiting. After a moment Lily turned around and shoved a sprig of lavender under his nose.

"Eat. Should bring down your fever."

Bumper nodded and chewed it up, then lay down to sleep.

"I'm going herb-gathering," she told him softly, resting her eyes on his sleeping form...

Flash ran to catch up with Poppy. "Hey! Wait for me," he barked.

"You're such a slowcouch," she teased him, then stopped by a willow. "Flash-"

"Yes...?" Flash met her eyes and something seemed to pass between them without them speaking. Flash sat on his haunches and tipped his head up to touch her nose. "So you feel that way too?"

"Of course I do. Flash..." Poppy hesitated, then smiled. "I love you."

Flash licked her cheek. "I love you too. Now let's hunt!"

Katla snuggled up to her three pups, a warmth in her chest that she couldn't explain. Two strong boys and one girl. Already they had names - Eskil, Iuli and, her favorite, little Gyda. Katla let out a contented sigh as he laid with her pups before the storm entered. Svafar entered the den and puffed up with pride, "How beautiful." Katla remained silent and didn't look up. Svafar stuck his nose closer, sniffing at the three pups, "What a small fae though.. Do you think she'll be strong enough?" Katla's eyes flared with rage and she snapped her head toward Svafar, "Shut up, you mange-pelt!" Svafar reeled back with shock, "All I said was that she's little.." Katla pulled herself to her paws, leaving the pups whining on the ground behind her, "And I said shut up. She's amazing and she's going to grow up to be a threat you could never hope to face." A snarl lit up on her lips as she got closer, "Don't insult her again."

Svafar sighed, "Katla.. Kironir wants us to love each other.." Without another word he left...

Moons passed and Akechi still had his former mentor believing he was still on her side. Amber had made another kill that morning, her anger and hunger for power growing larger with each passing day. However later that night the male left camp to do some thinking. He had found a small hidden area in perfect view of the stars and Northern Lights a few moons back and often used it to get away from everything. There Akechi sat, his eyes looking at the stars above, his thoughts racing. "I know you must be angry with me. For what I have done. For allowing such a cruel dog to keep on living. I come here tonight to ask for your forgiveness, although I know I do not deserve it. However I will make everything right. Tomorrow I, Akechi, will personally end Amber's rain of terror and stop the murders. All I ask is for you to look out for my family." The male sat there, tears falling from his eyes. How could he have been so blind and misguided.

With a heavy sigh Akechi remained in his spot for a few more moments before returning to his nest back at camp. Upon there he glanced over at his mother then over at his siblings, a faint smile on his face. "I'm sorry..." he whispered before closing his eyes and drifting off to sleep.

As morning came, many of the dogs had already begun their days work while Akechi began making his move. Catching up to Amber as she left, the male gave her a slight nudge and forced a smile. "Come on! Let's take a break and go for a walk." he offered, giving a slight wag of his tail. Amber, without hesitation gave a small nod of her head and follows the male out. As the pair leave Charlie, Nina, Thunder, Shiho, and Zeus follow them from a safe distance making sure not to alert them to their presence.

After some tom Akechi finally stops on one of the mountain cliffs, his eyes looking out at the horizon before him. Sighing he slowly turns to face Amber. "Amber. I'v had enough of your lies. I let you manipulate me and believe everything when really your just jealous and greedy!" he growls. Lunging at the female across from him, Akechi sinks his teeth in to her throat.

Below Charlie and the group watch the battle before them unfold with wide eyes. Back on the cliff Amber struggles to break free, using her claws to scrap at her attacker. Unable to hold on any longer, Akechi lets go, Amber taking this as her turn to lunge at Akechi. "How dare you! I took you in when your own family turned away from you and this is how you repay me!?" she snaps, catching one of Aketchi's paws in her mouth. Crushing it with in an instant. Letting out a howl of pain, Akechi turns on Amber once more.

The fight between them goes on for some time, until finally Amber collapses to the ground near the edge. Akechi makes his way over to her, standing over her. "Today you die, but you shall not be welcomed by the Ancestors, but by the demons of the dark forest." Finally after saying what he needed to say Akechi leans down to deliver the final blow, only to have Amber lash out at him one more time. Reaching out for Amber, Akechi sinks his teeth into her throat once more before his hind legs slip off the edge of the cliff. With Akechi pulling and Abber pulling away, a large rip occurs in the female's throat. Her lifeless body falls to the ground while Akechi falls off the cliff.

As he falls Akechi looks to the skies once more, tears falling form his eyes once again. "I'm sorry."

* Eagle leaves Ezio in the care of Parker and Dusty while he and the others go out herb hunting. The shaman knowing Ezio is in good paws with the old Shaman
* Charlie, Nina, and Thunder confront Shiho and Zeus for letting Amber slip away after finally realizing who the killer is.
The group quickly scrambling to catch the murder and stop the murders
* Amber ignores the ancestors and murders Ray
* Akechi, unable to handle it all finally confronts Amber. Akechi asks the ancestors for forgiveness the night before
Akechi kills Amber while far from camp. Charlie, Nina, Thunder, Shiho, and Zeus all witness the fight
After killing his former mentor Akechi slips and falls from a cliff. It's most likely he fell to his death
* Rusty, Sparrow, Ezio, and Claudia morn the loss of their mother Ray
* Charlie's group searches for Akechi's body, but has no luck
The group comes back and informs the alpha and everyone on what happened
* Shiho, Yusuke, Makoto, and Sakura morn the loss of Akechi
* Romeo stays back with Juliet
* Venus and Bailey watch over Thor, Cate, and Kyra

❝ＴＡＫＥＭＹＬＩＦＥ, ＮＯＴＨＥＲ'Ｓ, ❞

"Dad!" Remus groaned as he felt his father give him a few licks on his head, smoothening down his mud-ridden pelage. The doberman pulled away from his father in frustration. "I'm fine! I'm grown-up now, I'm going to be a cadet and I don't need someone to clean my pelt."
dividerAries rolled his eyes. "Who knows, maybe Emperor Diablo thinks you're too unsanitary to become a cadet?" He replied, effectively getting his son to leap up to his paws and shake his pelt quickly.
divider"Well, uh.. Me and Romulus are going by the stream to have a quick swim.. You know, because we're.. um.. we're cadets." His short tail wagged as he thought he made up a convincing cover up for his worries and then he darted off to find his brother and go to the stream.
dividerAries smiled as he watched him bound off. "Get back soon, the ceremony is almost going to begin!"

Aries turned around as he saw Desdemona approach him, miraculously without her trio of pups.
divider"Morning, Regent Aries." She said with a polite dip of her head.
divider"Good morning, Des. Where are the pups?" He inquired.
dividerShe giggled in response before jestering towards the mouth of the nursery cave, where Valerik was being tackled to the ground by the three already large pups. "Valerik is taking care of them." She said fondly. Aries pretended that he didn't see the almost loving tinge in her voice as she mentioned the wolf.
It was quite funny to see the massive russian wolf fooling around with pups, his intimidating size and demeanour seemed irrelevant when he was playing with them, the fact that even a simple wrong swipe of his paws could kill them seemed to dissolve as he carefully played along with their games.
dividerDesdemona's voice broke him from his trance of thought. "How are you feeling? I'm sure this is a big day not only for your pups but you as well."
divider"Certainly. I'm very proud of my boys, and I know their mother would be proud too." He added a little more quietly, "I just wish that she could see them now."
dividerDes gave him a sympathetic look, though said nothing more as she lifted herself to her paws and moved away to her pups, giving his shoulder a gentle press with her head, showing her compassion for the grieving Doberman.

Diablo sat on his den, haunches resting on the warm pelage of the kennel's most impressive catches. It was customary for the highest ranking to have the best den, supplied with a fur-lined den, a small pool of fresh water and a few pieces of prey, plus, many bones littered about. He let out a rumbling chuckle as he remembered his shaman suggesting he give out pelts for all the dens in the wintertime, especially for those occupying the nursery.

"Nonsense." The emperor rumbled lowly, dismissing Daedalus's idea immediately. "You think they deserve that kind of luxury? They would grow far too entitled to that kind of stuff. It is strictly for the highest ranking canines. The ones who actually deserve it."

Daedalus had let out a sigh at his leader's response before padding off.

A voice suddenly broke him from his memories, and Diablo snapped his head around to stare at the figure that waited hesitantly at the mouth of his den.
divider"Emperor, would you mind if I speak to you?" Daedalus asked.
divider"Oh, why not? It isn't like I'm planning my announcement for our cadetship ceremony." He replied sarcastically, eyes narrowing. Despite that, he invited the male in with a jerk of his stubby tail.
divider"Sorry Emperor. But I have noticed something that you must be aware of.." He paused, clearly uneasy. "I suspect that a dog is breaking our law."
dividerDiablo leapt to all four paws instantaneously, fury ripping through him in the form of a terrorizing snarl. "What? He growled incredulously, "How long have you known this for, who is this dog?"
divider"Min.. Minerva.. She's expecting with someone in the pack."
dividerDiablo didn't meet Daedalus's gaze. Instead, a fire burned inside his piercing golden gaze, dark and threatening as he dismissed the long-legged hound. "Tell everyone that the ceremony is to begin shortly.." His lips pulled into a cruel grin. "And their will be a little surprise at the end."

The Vehementi gathered round excitedly at the meeting rock, waiting with apprehension beneath the large boulder. Murmurs raced through the crowds, some spreading rumours that Diablo would not accept them as cadets and others giving their congratulations and pointing out what great things the twins had done. Aries was atop the boulder, his eyes focused on Remus and Romulus.
dividerSoon enough Diablo strode out of his den, pelt rippling in the fading light of the sun while he climbed up to the rock before settling down in front of Aries.

divider"Attention, Vehementi Empire. Today we are here for the __ ceremony. Two whelps of the pack have become old enough to finally contribute to the pack, and will begin their training after this grand occasion. Remus and Romulus, please join your Empe and Regent on the meeting rock."
dividerDiablo watched as they climbed up, excitement glimmering in their eyes. "Remus and Romulus, you two have a great future ahead of you, the gods have told me. I expect nothing less than perfection from you two, and with your mentors Mania and Kronos to guide you, it would be a true pity if you did not succeed the ranks of cadet with flying colours. At this time I grant you a more promising rank than a weak pup, I now announce you to cadets."

The Vehementi Empire let out their barks of approval, chanting out both of their names and giving Mania and Kronos their congratulations. They knew out of the pups that were in the nursery, the two pups of the regent would be undoubtedly the better trained and most favoured by the emperor. The barks died down quickly though as Diablo let out a commanding bark to silence them.
divider"Now, Vehementi.. We have a little surprise." His words were smooth and polished, though his tone was menacingly dark. "It has come to my attention that one of our packmates has decided to mate with another, and they are now expecting pups." He moved down from the rocks, Aries quickly following him. "Minerva.. Why don't you show yourself, traitor!"

Minerva crouched submissively as she backed away from the crowd, trying to ignore their snarls and comments of disgust. She let out a low whine.
dividerDiablo strode forwards to her, ramming his shoulders into her side, making the pregnant she-dog topple over, her full belly now prominent. "Vehementi, you know what we do with traitors.. don't you?" He asked darkly, his eyes never leaving Minerva. "We slaughter them!"
divider"Diablo, wait!" One voice cried out, Odin. "Take my life, not her's." He looked lovingly at his mate, who let out a cry of disagreement. "For I would give my soul rather to see her die."
dividerDiablo shrugged, his soulless black orbs now piercing into the German shepherd. "Very well then.." He paused, looking around the kennel. "Aries, dispose of this filth."

The emperor could see the hesitation in his eyes, watching Aries look at his two horrified sons and sending them a sorrowful look before trodding forwards, nodding his head respectfully to his leader. He watched as Aries lunged to Odin, who did not struggle or move as Aries took the killing blow. Remus and Romulus looked away in horror as Odin crumpled to the ground, his lifeless figure collapsing as Minerva cried out, trying to get to her now dead mate.
divider"Odin! Odin!" She cried, burying her nose in his fur as tears streamed down her face, pain contorted her gentle features. Her voice trembled and shook as she continued repeating his name, begging him to get up. "You were going to be father, we were going to be a family. Don't leave me now, please.." She choked out helplessly, shoulder sagging weakly as she pleaded with the heavens. "Let my love come back to me.. Odin.. come back to me.."

Diablo watched her with disgust as she pressed herself against her now dead mate. "You know Minerva, I am in quite a good mood today, so I'll let you in a on a little offer." He watched as she slowly lifted her head, her Caramel eyes showing nothing but broken sorrow. "You can see Odin again. Oh yes, right in those heaven's were pathetic dogs like you roam after the strong ones like me sink their teeth into your neck."
dividerMinerva looked shocked, her body trembled as she scrambled to get away from Diablo as he stalked forwards, lips curled back, body ready to strike. She darted around as he lunged to get her, his claws digging into her sides before she sprinted away.
dividerDiablo growled with frustration before turning back to the empire. "What are you all gawking at, go kill her before she gets out of the territory!"

the pale gray fae gently picked her way across the frozen ground, her paws slithering across the ice and leaving cracks behind. she had never been this far from the city, and had never been alone before now. but now that her mother was dead, her father had gone,
and her sister had gotten into fighting in the streets, she felt very isolated. the mountains stretched out in front of her and she cast a forlorn expression backwards, toward the frozen city she called home. she knew her fate lay towards the mountain, but her heart called her home to the city. her tall ears angled upward at the cry of an eagle, and she observed as it twirled in the air above her.
how free you are. she thought, running across the icy landscape, chasing after the bird. she came to a forced halt as she crashed into the icicles of a frozen waterfall. looking backwards, she realized she had run right across a large lake. the eagle screeched one last time before disappearing over the top of the waterfall and she frowned, puzzled. she walked behind the falling water and her eyes widened at the sight in front of her. six caves, all branching off and sheltered behind a waterfall- she was sure the eagle had lead her here. she smiled, warmth bubbling in her stomach, despite the chill of the air.
"wolves born the day of the eclipse were birthed here, in a belief that they were special, meant to ascend the throne and become a commander." a voice caused the shepherd's breath to hitch, and she turned on her paws; startled by the stunning sight in front of her. an auburn wolf filled with starlight, her eyes soft and warm, and her breath familiar.
"mother." she cried, reaching out to the approach the dead ancestor. but her mother stepped backwards, shaking her head.
"i'm afraid you cannot touch starlight, my dear daughter. i have come here to tell you that you were born the day of an eclipse, and are bound by your fate to lead a pack of dogs. you will be their commander." her mother murmured, eyes saddened. "get your sister. though she is older and not born of an eclipse, you will need her to help guide you. promise me you will do this."
"i promise, mother." she vowed, yearning to feel her mother's warmth once more. "i'm sorry hunters took your life."
"i run with the stars now. lead well, my dear wanda. you have your whole life ahead. but do remember that my pack has sworn themselves enemies to dogs, and the wolves will kill any dog that steps into their lands. except the day of eclipses, where you will be able to roam free. goodbye, little one." before wanderer could even protest her mother's departure, the wolf faded into the shadows and the only sign that she had been there at all was her scent that remained in the caverns.

Ancestor visit: four days

True to his word, Ares and his band brought the deer back to camp. The kennel was buzzing with excitement while they ate to their heart's content. Enyo ate with her mate while her pups fought over the antlers, Athena and Hades lay side-by-side and bickered about who killed the deer, and the Tenderpaws chatted amongst themselves. The newest tenderpaw was a small, fluffy dog with big brown eyes. Diana told him that she hadn't spoken a word since she found her. All she managed to get was her name: Thalia. Licking his chomps, Ares left the feast and climbed onto the fallen tree, overlooking his pack. They raised their heads from the meal as he howled to assemble them. "Night Callers, let us praise Luna for our feast." There were barks and howls of approval. They died down as Ares spoke again, "However, this day would not be complete without welcoming our newest tenderpaw, Thalia." Thalia's eyes widened up at him and she licked her lips nervously. "Approach the Fallen, young one." Ares said and nimbly made his way down to where she stood.

"Deimos, will you also please step forward?" Deimos's ears pricked and he shared a look with his brother before joining the alpha and Thalia. Ares smirked at the nervousness of the fluffy Irontooth. "Deimos, you were one of the first Ironteeth of the Night Callers and have proved your skills to all. You are now ready to take on a tenderpaw. Do you swear to teach the ways of the Night Code and pass on your skills to this pup?" Deimos nodded his head. "I solemnly swear by the stars." Ares nodded and took a step back from them. Deimos pressed his muzzle to Thalia's while the kennel howled their approval.

After the ceremony, the dogs dispersed into their normal duties. Some went on patrol, others helped move the remains of the deer into the fresh-kill pile (except the antlers, which had been dragged into the nursery by Enyo's brood). Apollo stood by the entrance to camp, his floppy ears pricked and nervous. As a rogue, he had been through many frightening experiences, but he had never been as scared as he was now. He searched the camp until he saw her. She was walking towards him with her usual stoic expression, but to Apollo, she looked beautiful.

"Are you ready to go?" Nike asked as she passed him, her eyes unusually happy. Apollo swallowed and nodded his head. Before they left, he looked over his shoulder and saw Artemis smiling at him. He smiled back before following Nike out of camp. They headed to the North and Apollo stopped them when they reached the small river. The murky water flowed smoothly over the rocks and logs embedded in it.

Apollo took a deep breath and barked, "Nike, wait a sec." Nike did so, her tail swishing in slight annoyance. Great start. Great start. "Wait, ah, sorry-sorry," he took another breath to compose himself and Nike chuckled softly. "Nike, I know that I can be a goofball sometimes and that can kind of get on your nerves, but I really like being around you. I mean, we hunt well together and I can make you laugh-which isn't easy by the way-and I just feel like I can trust you with my life." The words poured out of him as a clutter mess, but Nike knew what he was saying.

The Shepard padded over to him and pressed her muzzle to his. "You may be a goofball," she muttered, "but you're my goofball." Nike pulled away and tilted her head. "I'm guessing this is you asking me to be your mate?"

"Yes! I mean, uh, yes. Um, Nike, would you be my mate?"

"Well, since you asked so eloquently," she teased lightly, "of course I will, Apollo."

Hector led the patrol along the East border, his tail held high in the air. It was the first time he had led a patrol since arriving. There was still a lot to relearn since he had spent so much with twolegs. He had grown up as a loner and was taken in by twolegs. He loved it there, but the constant pampering had gotten on his nerves. Even so, he still wore his collar as a reminder of the kindness he was shown. The patrol was normal until Anteros alerted him to an odd smell near the edge. It wasn't the normal rogue smell that usually popped up around the borders, but more of a mountainous sort of odor. The patrol was quick to investigate, knowing that a stranger dog could spell trouble for the kennel.
