"Goodness, hello spring." Cadeyrn mumbled, and he was able to hear Sparrow's struggling wheeze beside him. "Sooner or later most of our sicknesses will be gone. Thank the stars!" Cadeyrn boomed joyously, swiftly followed by a cough. Yet his ears were filled with groans of despair, continuous coughs and long wheezes. Cadeyrn cast a glance over at Sparrow, frowning. "Are you all right?" He asked softly. Sparrow whined, his eyes clouded and his vision blurred. "Soon it will be my time to leave. I'm afraid my sickness has gotten to a point where I can't battle it any longer." Sparrow murmured in a raspy voice. Cadeyrn suddenly went frantic. "It's not even that horrid yet! It's not completely fatal!" Cadeyrn barked desperately, sounding forty months younger than his current age. "Oh, where's Amour and Lune?" Cadeyrn asked in a panicked tone. "Herb collecting." Sparrow grumbled. "Falcon already died, I don't want you to as well, bud." Cadeyrn whimpered quietly. But a reply was never heard.
"You what?" Minnow demanded. "I've assigned you to Sieger to train." Bullet replied simply, keeping his gaze on Minnow. "After losing my brother, you're making me train a lousy pup?" Minnow snarled viciously, yet Bullet stayed calm. "Yes. We thought it would be a good distraction from your loss, actually. Apologizes if this causes an inconvenience for you, but it has already been made official." Bullet answered in a sophisticated voice. "Who says it's 'official'? What kind of Alpha are you? I know so many dogs who would have made much better Alphas than... you." Minnow growled, adjusting himself into an aggressive stance. A flash of what seemed to be sorrow glinted in Bullet's eyes, but he seemed to stay put. "Thank you." Bullet barked. And he was off.
Achilles bit into a squirrel he was sharing with Nettle. "There's barely any small dogs here, not including pups obviously." Nettle commented, glancing around camp. Achilles chewed a small bite of squirrel, nodding. "You're not even that small yourself. It's mainly just me." Achilles pointed out, and going back to eating his squirrel. Nettle pushed the squirrel closer towards Achilles. "You can have the rest of the squirrel. I'm not hungry. And you got a point." Nettle barked in agreement, watching Achilles gulp down the prey. "I heard there once was another dog from our old pack that once lived here." Achilles finally barked after finishing his meal. "It was Caden." Nettle's eyes glinting with surprise. "Who told you that?" The terrier questioned. "I think it was Raj. He told me that Caden had saved his life while they were hunting deer, but Caden ended up dying." He explained, fiddling around with one of the squirrel's thin bones. "Oh." Was all Nettle could say.
"I hope Bullet's all right now. I was talking to Gabriel the other day and she was going on about how in the previous months Bullet was acting pretty doubtful of himself." Amorette commented to Beverly, Calypso, Merolyn, Laurelle and Reena. The six female canines had offered to go on patrol when the current patrol dogs came back, but they had decided to spend their time gossiping. It was first Beverly and Reena, but the other four had joined in. "I was talking to Lily, and Boom had told her that Bullet was wanting someone else to take his Alpha place, or something like that." Calypso offered. The other five stared wide eyed at the young Irontooth. "Impossible." Reena declared. "He's already getting over it now. Once the sickness is gone, his doubts will too." She claimed, and a few nodded in agreement. "Thunder would make a decent Alpha if Bullet were to give up his place." Merolyn mumbled. "You only say that because you like him, don't you?" Beverly teased. Merolyn laughed nervously, suddenly realizing she had barked her thoughts aloud. "Oh look, patrol is back. Our turn now." Merolyn sudden yowled. "You've avoided the question once, but can you avoid it twice?" Beverly asked with a chuckle. Probably not. Merolyn thought.
