~From the Ruins~ (LeafClan warriors rp. Needs members!)

Crowflight stopped when she had reached the river and was surprised to see the other warriors and apprentices had arrived at the same time as her. "I guess it was a tie then! Oh well I guess we should start training then! How about we each take our apprentices and show them how to hunt? And then we can meet back here after wards? I can take you too Foxpaw if you want, since Graycloud isn't here." She turned to Wolffang and Hollyfur, "well if that's ok with you guys."

Hollyfur nodded, glade she didn't have to teach the other apprentice too, she would much rather focus on just training Frostpaw.

"Of course. Come on Marshpaw." He led the apprentice away from the rest of the group. "So we're going to start with a basic crouch. Show me what you've got. Just follow your instincts as if your about to catch a mouse." He meowed, deciding the best way to teach him was to correct what he already knew.

Sunpaw looked up at her mentor. "What are we going to start with?" She meowed, excited to start. Her orange pelt was glowing in the sun, proof of her name.

"Well first, if you deside to do hunting, how will you find your prey?" Crowflight asked her apprentice and Foxpaw, she thought it best to teach them how to actually find the prey before teaching them how to kill it.

Hollyfur, like the other warriors, pulled her apprentice aside and started to teach her how to hunt. "Well when hunting, it is esential to make sure you are quiet, other wise your prey will hear you and run of faster then you can say mousedung. You also have to make sure then the wind is blowing in your direction so the wind wont carry your sent and alert the prey. How can you be sure which way the wind is blowing?" Hollyfur quizzed her apprentice.

[Wanderer.]

"Through scent." Sunpaw meowed automatically, not thinking about it. "Right?" She added.

Marshpaw dropped his entire frame close to the ground, he had seen warriors do it once or twice but something felt wrong about it as he lifted a paw and waved his tail to and fro. he shook his head and looked up at Wolffang, "is this it?" he asked bracing himself for the warrior to begin his critque of him.

Frostpaw padded after Hollyfur, she cast a glance back at her brother but she only got a glimpse of his tail as she and her mentor moved away from the two toms. She paused and looked at Hollyfur realising she was quizing her already, she decided her best option was to say the obivous thing "feel the air move across your fur and watch the leaves and branches of the forest" she said looking up at her mentor and praying she was right. how else could you tell the wind? her mind reasoned with her quaking nerves.

Tangletail, searched for Ashpaw but to no avail. the other warriors and their apprentice's had already left to begin training and practice their hunting. he itched to start with Ashpaw, and by all rights they should have already been out in the clearing so he could begin trainning the young tom through the stances of a warrior. if only I could find the furball he thought, a slow grin spread across his face as he remembered another young apprentice who was always sneaking out of camp and hunting or going on one-cat patrols as he tried to prove himself to the rest of the clan.

"Keep your tail straight for one, you don't want to atract attention from anything, prey or not." Wolffang circled the tom, gently prooding his paws into place with his own paws. "There. It might feel odd for a while, but you'll get used to it soon enough. Now, scent the air. What do you smell?"

Marshpaw made the effort to keep his tail straight and still, though his nerves made it almost impossible. He paused taking a wavering breath and and lifting his muzzle slightly and parted his jaws drinking in the smells of the forest, there was berries from the bush they were by. there was the scent of cats Wolffang, Crowflight, Foxpaw, and Sunpaw; he lingered over her scent it reminded him of sweetgrass and- snap out of it! his subconsious yowled. He quickly moved on drinking in the scents again, tasting each one until he found, "vole!" he annouced proudly as he allowed the warm scent of prey too was over him.

[Wanderer.]

"Okay, now pinpoint your prey. Found it? Okay, now creep forward, keeping your weight on your haunches." Wolffang instructed quietly.

"That's exactly right Sunpaw, so make sure you are dead quiet when you are sniffing for prey, you don't want to alert it by running around like an overgrown badger. Also, how do you make sure that the prey wont smell you?" She asked the two she-cats.

"Right you are Frostpaw, so let's practice our stalking crouches, after spotting a peice of prey, in most circumstances you will have to stalk it intill you are close enough to pounce, so whatch me first and then you try." Hollyfur dropped into the hunter's crouch, her body low.
