notice;; there are four sets of pairs due to a larger round.

mossspeck had everything. she had two healthy kits, caring
and thoughtful parents, and a strong and loyal brother. she
was loved and protected in thunderclan, and was living like
a queen. her family never faced any struggle. they were all
clanborn, well-fed, and living a life free of worry or sickness.
so it was really no surprise a cat had wanted to kill her.

being the only young she-cat in the family, their relatives
have either passed away or are too old, mossspeck had been
the only one able to directly carry on the bloodline through
kits, unlike toucanwing, who would have to take a mate.
because of this, she received a lot of attention and was always
assumed to be the favorite kit out of the litter. so she did.
the queen had given birth to ravenkit and dovekit, two little
she-cats that shocked the clan. just like expected, they
were treated like royalty and nothing bad would ever happen
to them. or at least, they never expected anything bad.

flattening the wet moss with her two front paws, mossspeck
let out a content sigh as she looked out from the cliff peak.
the calm breeze that ruffled her fur disturbed her, as she now
felt two eyes burning into her back. as if to warn whatever it
was, she flexed her claws, glinting them in the sunlight.

"are you scared?" a voice from the forest behind her spoke, and
a cat padded out from the bushes, making mossspeck jump.
the gray and white she-cat nodded, quickly sheathing her claws
once more. "i'm sorry. i only wanted to bring you this." the cat
continued forward with a warm smile on their muzzle. mossspeck
let out a quiet chuckle as a white feather floated to the ground
next to where she sat. she thanked them quickly before offering
a seat next to her. just as mossspeck opened her jaw to speak,
the cat shoved her forwards, grabbing the soaked moss. pressing
down on it, they dripped the water on her paws, tripping her up.

another shove forced mossspeck onto the very edge, where she
was grasping for leverage with her claws. her back legs dangled
in the air, and she watched as the cat held the feather above her.
betrayal was raging in her eyes as the cat dropped it on her nose,
forcing her to sneeze and release her grasp, sending her falling to
her death. the cat stood, looking straight forward with wide eyes,
and cringed when they heard a painful snap, indicating she had
reached the bottom. "oh my, starclan.. what have i just done.."

people push you down but they're not worth it -- mossspeck will
be welcomed as an honored queen within the ranks of starclan.
the body is beaten and broken -- my prayers are with thunderclan!

Rosepaw woke up with a snap.
Something felt off today, something always does. But.. It's probably fine, I mean- when was my gut right about something..? Was it ever?
