Howls of agony had woke the Vehementi Empire at dawn. It seemed that only the barest glimmers of sun had trickled through the trees as the pack rose quickly, ready to spring into action at the sound of the vanguards barks, who held the dawn shift of guarding the pack camps.
xxxxxBut there was not a single bark, the howling of pain filling the void silence that often filled the dawn. Most of Vehementi had swiftly got up regardless, looking around to find the owner of the screeching. They had quickly found that it was from the brood cave. Diablo had padded out of his den, standing on top of the smooth ledge that the cave provided. Beneath the ledge the stream trickled softly down into the small pool that the dogs often drank at, though the calming sound of water flowing couldn't be heard over the howls.

Daedalus had appeared out of the nursery, running agilely over to Diablo and whispering something in his ear before running back.
Diablo let out a commanding bark before summoning the pack to a quick meeting. "Vehementi Empire, as some of you may have already realized, our brood Desdemona is now in labour. But that is not what I wish to address. Remington." He barked, his gaze piercing into the male. "You have spent long enough as the rank of weak omega, and I do not wish to keep a deadweight within my pack. You know what I do with them."
The pack didn't utter a word at that, all understanding the consequences of weakness. Death.
Diablo continued, leaping down the ledge and onto the bank of the pool of water. He strode towards the kangal, a dark glare in his eyes. "To show your loyalty and strength, you will execute our prisoner." He ordered.

Remington nodded dutifully. "Vehementi Empire is were I belong now. I will do whatever I must to show my loyalty." He responded coolly, though as he watched the terrier being shoved closer to him he felt sick. Was he really going to kill this innocent dog? Couldn't there be others ways to get rid of him? The kangal hesitated as the terrier sat in front of him, trembling.

"It's either going to be one dog dead today or two, omega. Your choice." He hissed impatiently.

Remington lunged, snarling as he took the killing blow from the innocent terrier. Hopper lay limp on the ground, and Remington lowered his head slowly, almost silent as he whispered his regrets to the dead terrier. "I'm sorry, and may you walk the stars with your former pack. But I did what I must, and there is no time to wallow in grief over my decisions."
xxxxxHe barely heard Diablo as he announced him a brigadier, only replaying the moment where he took the prisoners life. I did what I had to.. He thought, his expression hardening. I am not the weak rogue I was once, I shouldn't feel this remorse. I am apart of the Vehementi Empire now and these regretful feelings are only for the weak.

Mighty Rogues. They're known for their tough exterior and brutal training. No weaklings can get through their territory or be welcomed. The kennel is all large dogs that take strength over wisdom. They will never step down to a fight and even in boredom, they may start one too. Never underestimate their strength, they'll bite you when you're not expecting it.
Their territory is a rocky moor where food is a little harder to find if one doesn't know where to look. In the summer and spring, they leave their winter den and always sleep around the territory under the stars. However, when the cold season comes around, they retreat to their cave.

"Thicket! Thicket! Get out of there!" Blizzard ran towards her brother who was sniffing around the Shamans den. She grabbed his tail in between her jaws earning a small whimper from Thicket as she dragged him backwards. She swatted him playfully across the muzzle. "Don't bother Hunter, I'm sure he's busy or something."
The bracken rustled and Hunter stepped out of his den. "Why hello there pups. I hope you weren't going to go make a mess out of my den." Thicket began to wag his tail and hop around Hunter letting out some shrill bark. Hunter looked at Blizzard confused. "What's wrong with him?"
"I don't know." She sat down. "I guess he likes you or something. He isn't good with words either, which is strange I thought he was deaf."
"He doesn't know, words because he's never heard them before." Hunter replied watching Thicket bounce around him.
Blizzard watched her brother before she heard a shout from the center of the camp. "All Blood Moon dogs please gather!"

Angie crawled out of the nursery Shadow at her tail along with her three pups, it was time for their acceptance ceremony. She watched as her pups ran towards the rock in the center of camp. She felt Shadow brush next to her. "Don't be scared,
they'll be fine."
Angie looked at her. "I know. But your pup's ceremony went so....." She trailed off as Blade made his speech.
At the end of the ceremony no pup was exiled, and everything seemed fine.

Ancestor visit: six days

The sun had only just begun to rise over the trees when Diana saw Ares approaching camp, leading his band of warriors behind him. Relief flooded over her when she saw he was unharmed besides a small scratch on his cheek that wouldn't require any herbs to heal. She stood up from where she had been sitting with Delphi and went to greet him. "Alpha, I-" She started but stopped when he simply walked by her to the Fallen One. He leaped onto it, his dark fur glowing in the early sunlight. "Night Callers," He addressed the kennel, who stood in an arc around the fallen tree, muzzled turned towards their leader. "The enemy that threatened us has fallen, their leader killed." Diana's eyes widened and she glanced around her, now noticing Eros. The light brown dog sat near the camp entrance, staring at the ground. Blood stained his muzzle and chest. Cronus sat beside him and made eye contact with the shaman before shaking his head. Diana nodded and turned back to Ares, who was still speaking. "But while our enemy falls, our kennel rises. I would like to welcome the three who decided to join our ranks." Slowly, three dogs emerged from the crowd. They looked incredibly nervous, especially a young tenderpaw that had his tail tucked between his legs.

"Approach the Fallen." Ares commanded as he jumped down from the tree. The dogs sat in a row before the alpha with their heads bowed. Ares padded over to the first dog, a border collie whose face was littered with scars. Her head rose to meet the alpha's, a cold but not disrespectful glint in her brown eyes. "Artemis of the rogue pack, you have been welcomed to join this kennel. Do you promise to defend the Night Callers and uphold the Night Code, even at the cost of your life?" The female dipped her head and a quiet "yes" was heard. Ares then laid his head on hers and closed his eyes. "Howls of approval have been heard this night from the stars, and you are now no longer Artemis of the rogue dogs, you are now Artemis of the Night Callers." Diana tipped her head back and howled with the others to welcome the newest Night Caller.

When the howls had ceased, Ares moved to the next dog- a shepard named Apollo, and repeated the ceremony. Then the tenderpaw, a small golden dog named Jason. When the howls had ceased for him, Ares lifted his head. "Before young Jason can become a true tenderpaw, he will need a mentor." He barked, "Will Bello please step forward?" The obviously stunned beta padded to them, standing directly in front of Jason. Ares gave his friend a quick flick of his tail before moving on. "Bello, you have proved to me that you are a dog capable of using both his head and his heart, and are now ready to take on a tenderpaw. Do you swear to teach the ways of the Night Code and pass on your skills to this pup?"
Bello nodded. "I solemnly swear by the stars." Ares nodded and stepped back while Bello pressed his muzzle to Jason's, sealing the bond between them.

The chorus of howls echoed through the trees to the stars above.

Eros closed his eyes as the cool water of the river rushed over him, cleaning the grime from his fur and carrying it away. However, the water couldn't carry away what had stained his mind. He knew that he had killed Cato more for revenge then the protection of the group. He knew it. He remembered Ares telling them that they were not to escalate the fight unless the group forced them, but Eros had gone in with another agenda. Behind him, a twig cracked and he opened his eyes and signed. "I killed him, Papa." He muttered, not bothering to look over his shoulder.

"I figured you would." Cronus sighed as he sat on the bank of the river, eying his son worridly. "If it's any comfort, I would've done the same thing...even if he was my youngest son."

"All I could see was him and what he did to mom, and him casting you out." Eros turned to his father, hearing his voice begin to shake. "I saw him and when he saw me...he smiled. Asked me if you had died yet since he couldn't finish the job. He called me weak and you a coward. I couldn't let him walk away, Papa!" Eros couldn't hold back and he bounded out of the river. Cronus stumbled backwards as his son buried his face in his chest like he used to when he was a pup. He could feel his shaking breaths and he laid his head onto Eros's neck. They sat there in silence, trying to forget.

Nike loved being able to patrol the east border again. It was less muddy and more clear than the rest of the borders which was more her speed. What she didn't like was having the company of the siblings. Ares has asked her to show them their borders and where the best places to hunt were. He trusted her, but he also knew that she would rather listen more than teach. Artemis padded ahead of her (which did tick her off), her bushy black tail flicking in the wind. Apollo hung back by her with a goofy grin on his muzzle. His eyes kept dropping to her scars. Finally, Nike has enough and halted. "Are you enjoying the view?" She growled at him, not really in the mood for males who had no boundaries.

Apollo jumped back, surprised by the outburst. "What? N-No, I mean, yes, I mean-" He stuttered blindly. He took a deep breath and looked at Nike with sincere brown eyes. "I didn't mean to stare, but your scars. They kind of remind me of the rogue pack, y'know." Artemis stopped and looked back at them with a cold stare. Her own scars were twice as bad as Nike's, but that was beside the point. More confidently, Apollo continued, "I was trying to figure out a way to ask you about them. I mean, scars tell stories and I think it would be cool to know where they came from.

"Keep your nose in your own business, Apollo." Artemis suddenly said, trotting over to them. Apollo cowered under his sister's eyes and whined softly. "At least wait another moon before engaging in gossip."

Nike took a deep breath and shook her head. "Fine, I was in a rogue pack, same as you. That's all." She snapped and pushed past Artemis with a wave of anger. She took the lead again, but it wasn't until she got back to camp that her heart stopped racing.

The ebony shepherd Odin sat in camp quarters, dragging a paw in the ground absentmindedly. His patrol group sat a few feet away from him, chatting casually as they rested up before another round of territory checks and hunting. His striking set of deep brown eyes swept through the cluster of canines, examining each one in a swift manner before settling peacefully upon the gorgeous fae, Minerva.

His love and mate, the shepherd was a wonderful and compassionate friend to him from the start. Despite being an omega, Minerva was a kind soul and Odin was proud of her for finally stepping up to the rank she deserved. Working beside eachother was a dream, and Odin felt content with the life they shared.
So caught up in his blissful memories, he hadn't noticed that Minerva had excused herself from the group to go over to chat with him.

"Come with me," She whispered softly in his ear as she passed him, walking away into the deep brush.
Odin followed suit, quickly catching up with his mate and walking side-by-side. "What is it, dear?" He questioned, charcoal ears pinning forwards.

She then turned her body, positioning it so he could gaze at her full belly. "I'm pregnant, Odin." She replied. Although her expression seemed happy, her voice was filled with worry. Odin ran to press up against her, breathing in her sweet scent and smiling.

"I'm going to be a father!" He said merrily, though a rush of terrible thoughts silenced his joy. The colour drained from him. "If Emperor finds out.." He couldn't continue.

They both knew what would happen. They both dreaded it. They would be killed.

"Your pups are due soon." Spectre reminded softly to the mastiff mix laying down next to him. "Daedalus said that you should rest before going into labour."

Zariana looked at him, amused. "Well, well, well mr. medicine dog." She chuckled, "I think I've got it."
"Are you sure?" He asked tentatively.
Zariana rolled her eyes, though she did not seem to hold the old hatred that she had for her assigned mate. "I was a shaman myself, you know."
Spectre looked surprised. "You never told me that!"
Zariana simply nodded before resting her head on Spectre's muscly shoulders, closing her eyes as she fell into sleep. Spectre merely smiled, content. The feuding that had spilled from them had settled down after some persistency from Spectre—plus some help from Zariana's good friend Valerik— and they were now closer together than before.

Valerik, who had just padded in to say hello to Desdemona, popped his head in the left tunnel of the cave nursery to see Zariana. He glanced over at Spectre. "Take good care of her, admiral. She is a gem." His thick russian accent was still proving to be difficult to listen to by many pack members, but Spectre managed to get a better understanding than a few others. He nodded to the wolf before watching the huge creature stalk off to see the pups in the other side of the cave.

Territory:
The territory mostly resides in a forest that has lots of uneven ground and overgrowing branches, because of this, the dogs of The Forgotten are built specially with strong limbs and sleek and agile bodies, blessed with the ability to climb trees and be silent, this dogs can come and go without anyone noticing, almost like they were assassins.

Their den resides in a small cave that is strategically hidden amongst the vegetations and trees, and the dogs can be found usually sunbathing in a small ravine.

"And so we will bite back twice as hard."

Reputation & Nature:
Because of their seldom appearances, they were nicknamed "Shadow dogs", for they do not choose to appear in front of intruders but rather stalk them from above in the overhanging branches, if need be, they will then show themselves.
The dogs in the kennel are known to be hostile towards outsiders, trust does not come by easily to them and it requires lots of patience in order to gain theirs, however, though, they can be friendly and welcoming if they sense no threat in a particular creature.

The alpha of the kennel is the most important member of the family, he is headstrong and resilient, and just like the others, chooses to remain in the shadows without being known. Dogs in the kennel has deep respect for the alpha and are willing to risk anything for him.

"We'll take back the respect we deserved."

Season: Spring

The winter snows are starting to melt and there are patches of grass are starting to be seen. Prey is starting to come out of hibernation and become more abundant. The nights are still bitter cold and the mornings are filled with frost, but at noon the air is warm.

Seeing that Iliad was upset and pacing outside of the nursing den, Hugo walked up to her and asked "What's wrong Iliad? You look upset."
Iliad stopped pacing and said "I'm worried about Cinna. She came to the kennel very sick and she just recovered and is having her puppies now. I hope that she will do alright and that her puppies are healthy."
"You should go in there and see for yourself. You're small enough and wouldn't get in the way."
"No. I can't do that. The den is already crowded as it is and a pup-mother needs space to breathe when she is birthing. I'm not allowed in either because I'm so inexperienced."
"Aww. Ok, well do you want to play to get your mind off of it."
"I need to stay here in case they need me to fetch herbs."
"Come ooon." Hugo bounded up to Iliad and bit her paw. "Let's wrestle."
"Ow, no Hugo." Hugo pawed at Iliad and made her fall over. Laughing she said "Hey, I said stop."
"You're going to have to make me!"
"Alright, get over here you!" The two tenderpaws chased each other around camp.
[Atlantis gets gouged by the elk and is in critical condition. She will need X2 Cobwebs and Marigold to stabilize her along with 3 moons of rest.]
[Moolah is kicked in the head and will need Celedine.]
[The hunting party takes down the elk.]
[The second hunting party catches X1 pheasant.]
[The patrol finds the scent of a group of rouges.]
[Cinna gives birth to one runt. X1 Coltsfoot was used on her to help the birthing. She is tired from giving birth and the puppy will need extra milk to grow strong.]

When Hakon returned from his patrol with the shepherd alongside him, Authun could tell they weren't getting along. Instantly, Authun's mind whirled - he'd teach Hakon to mind his own business when it came to females.. he'd never want to cross a fae's path again. The Anatolian, whom he learned was named Svafar, was a lot like Hakon only he seemed to have better manners. Laughing mentally, Authun waited for the perfect moment to throw his surprise at his little pack.

Torstein laid on the ground, Katla, Svafar and Hakon gathered around him, "Why are you all without a Falvilda?" Svafar muttered, confusion etched into his features. "Obviously, our wonderful Kir hasn't chosen one, you genius." Svafar growled in Hakon's direction at the comment as the Cane Corso continued, "It's absolutely ridiculous that he hasn't! We all deserve that spot, none more then I, but that's beside the point! A successful pack needs a Falvilda!"

The dogs around Hakon hadn't spoken, in fact they had their heads bowed and looked right past Hakon. "Is that so, Jaa-Hakon?" Authun's voice snarled behind the male, "I'll let you question me this once. I came to tell you all I had an announcement." Hakon bowed his head as he turned to face the looming form of Authun. "Do you wish to wait for Vad-Ulf, Kir?" Torstein asked softly. The Kir shook his head, "Vad-Ulf isn't needed for this announcement. I've come to tell you that from now on Hal-Svafar and Katla-Tor are mates in the eyes of Kironir." Authun's eyes glittered as Hakon's short fur bristled. He dared the male with his eyes to question him, dared him to say a single word. Hakon had learned his lesson though and kept his mouth shut, watching as the beautiful Katla and Svafar touched noses and then quietly left camp for their first venture as mates.
