The black tom trod through the woods, away from the Rock of Many Stars. He'd just received his name - Nightstar. His chest fur fluffed up with pride and he confidently strode through the woods in search of a place to call camp. He stopped after a moments walk when he noticed something poking out through the light snow. He picked it up and found.. a raven feather. With a broad smile the tom nodded, "Ravenclan." Nightstar's amber gaze sparkled joyfully and his pace picked up. Camp shouldn't be far... no way.

“It’s a beautiful day, isn’t it?” The sound of Branchstar’s voice caught Swallowcloud off guard.
“I suppose it is.” He replied calmly, gazing off into the snowy distance. He watched as small snowflakes floated past his face and settled on the ground.
“Do you mind if I intrude..?” A deep voice rumbled behind the two cats. Branchstar turned around and unsheathed her claws.
“What are you doing here?!” The stranger looked at her curiously.
“Are you really that quick to unsheathe your claws? It doesn’t make a very good first impression.” The white cat commented. Branchstar squinted at the stranger, then at Swallowcloud. They seemed very similar, personality-wise.
“Look, I’ve had enough of your smug attitude with this guy,” she glanced at Swallowcloud, “So please don’t be another pain for me to deal with.”
“‘Another pain to deal with’? Why, this isn’t a very ladylike introduction at all!” The fluffy white cat grinned a bit. Branchstar hesitated before arguing,
“Well, I’m going to be the leader of a giant clan someday! Who cares if I’m not ladylike!” Swallowcloud watched the scene play out. He realised that this was extremely similar to when he first met Branchstar.
“Um, I’d like to ask — who are you?” Swallowcloud questioned, raising one eyebrow. Branchstar added,
“Yeah! You say it’s bad to have a poor first impression, but all you’ve done so far is sneak up on us, imitate this already annoying medicine cat, and just be a general nuisance!”
“I see,” the stranger murmured, then said, “Well, I’m Two-Eyes, but my friends call me Two.” Branchstar gave out a small gasp.
“A rogue,” she whispered, half to herself. “Why are you here?” She looked at Two straight in the eye.
“I was told to come here.” Two replied, nonchalantly. Branchstar looked at Swallowcloud, and he nodded.

This must’ve been ShaftClan’s new deputy.

Branchstar told Two that she needed to talk to Swallowcloud privately. Two nodded and ShaftClan’s leader and medicine cat disappeared into the tunnel. Branchstar paced back and forth. “Why is he acting like you? It’s kind of creepy.”
“Maybe that’s just his personality, and it’s just a coincidence that alike.”
“Perhaps,” Branchstar paused, “But, something seems... off.”
“I know what you mean,” Swallowcloud looked at Branchstar with uncertainty. “Should we let him in?” Branchstar gulped. That was the question she didn’t want to answer.
“Well, StarClan sent him, right? Surely whatever they have in plan is good,” She looked at her paws. “Hopefully whatever they have in plan is good. You’re the medicine cat — you should know what to do in this situation!” Branchstar felt herself getting on edge.
“But I’m not a leader. Leaders make the final decision.” Branchstar realised why he had been given the suffix ‘cloud’ now. He always seemed so level-headed in these sorts of situations. She sighed.
“If it’s the will of StarClan, then I suppose I have to let him in,” she looked up at Swallowcloud. “But what about his warrior name? He can’t go by ‘Two’ all his life!”
“Hm. Well, something Leafbare related would make sense for his prefix. Snow? Frost-“
“Frost. I feel like that fits him.”
“And suffix?” Branchstar thought a bit.
“Hm. Well he was able to find us out in all that snow — that must mean he has a good tracking ability. Frostnose? No, too ‘cutesy’. ... Frostwhisker?”
“Sounds cool.”
“Frostwhisker it is then.” The two cats nodded together, and stepped out of Branchstar’s den.

“Frostwhisker?” Two repeated to himself. “Sounds catchy. I like it,” He flashed a cunning smile. “So.. I’m ShaftClan’s new deputy?”
“Mhm.” Branchstar replied. It seems they had both gotten past their first argument. But Branchstar still couldn’t shake off how uncanny Frostwhisker acted to Swallowcloud. And it was almost like he had imitated her in a way — she forgave him, so he forgave back. She knew she would have to keep a close eye on him.

Birchstar really hadn't been expecting anything important to come out of his patrol, the most he'd thought of was the possibility of a predator to chase away. He certainly... hadn't been expecting this. A molly stood before him just outside the border, one he couldn't recognize. She didn't look at him with any sense of familiarity either, so he could only guess that whoever this loner was, she likely hadn't been from Wolfclan. Likely.

The molly had inquired about where she was, apparently having been newly located to the horseplace occupying the western border. "You say you hail from Sunclan..?" She asked to clarify, recalling what the other barn cats around had stated about the matter. She spoke in a calm and feminine voice, betraying little of her emotions. A nod concretely confirmed it for her, and in response she let out a mild hum.

"We... don't have much, although perhaps, if you dislike it at their horseplace, you might be interested in joining us?" Asked Birchstar, tilting his head to the side a bit. The molly gave another hum, seeming to mull it over without a set decision. "Maybe you would accept..." He looked around for a moment, before spotting a light rustle among the twigs scattered about.

The tom leapt into action, finding a mouse to have been the source of said rustling. Birchstar pounced unexpectedly, with the naive creature not seeming to be the brightest of it's bunch. He picked up the piece of fresh-kill, padding back over to the molly before dropping it at her feet. "-a mouse?"

Birchstar, past that point, had no luck in finding any prey. Yet still, he hadn't regretted his decision, as he found his way back into camp. Honestly by this point he'd completely forgotten about Dawnpetal's comment on Wolfclan's medicine cat apprentice who'd completed her training, instead focusing on finding Sunclan's own medicine cat for another reason.

"Dawnpetal?" He asked as he began his way into the main den area, a soft call in response prompting him to pop into the medicine den at the entrance. "I wanted to ask you something." He sat out of the way of the den entry, watching as the older molly moved to face him.

Honestly, Dawnpetal was expecting this to be about something else. Something which caused her to grow slightly worried, as she lightly swept her tail behind her. "What is it?" She was prepared for it, as he went to speak again. Thus, when he asked her something completely unrelated, her eyes showed a temporary surprise.

"I wouldn't usually ask this of you, as it isn't your job, but..." Began Sunclan's leader, grasping at the correct way to word the rest of his speech. "I fear if I send myself out too much I may get sick. Would you do me a favor of hunting, just this once?" Birchstar asked, noting her expression change. "I know Bearstar had his medicine cats hunt whenever they weren't tending to the clan to be "more useful", and I don't intend to be like him, but we really are in a bit of a spot."

In response to this, Dawnpetal simply gave a light laugh, as if dismissing his concerns over it. "I completely understand, Birchstar. It really isn't that big of a problem." She stood to walk out of the den, brushing up against the younger tom in a comforting manner. And before he really had a chance to respond with much other than a show of gratitude, the molly had left.
