The girl you just called fat...she's overdosing on diet pills. The girl you just called ugly... she spends hours putting makeup on hoping people will like her. The boy you just tripped... he is abused enough at home. See that man with the ugly scars... he fought for his country. That guy you just made fun of for crying... his mother is dying. Put this as your status if your against bullying.

{Serena}
Emerging slowly from the balcony where she'd been spending the night, the slender Blue Lacy stretched out each leg carefully, before continuing down the street. None of the rest of her Pack was awake yet, it was still dark, and a low mist hung over the city. Frost gilded the sparse trees that lined the cold concrete of the sidewalk, blanketed by a thin layer of ice. Serena could hear her claws clicking against it as she padded down the street; the noise echoed eerily in the heavy silence, but she paid it no heed.
She and her Pack had laid claim to several grocery stores in the area, and she intended to take full advantage of that claim. Slipping into a small convenience store, hidden by the glamour of the restaurant next door, she continued down the aisles until she reached the canned goods section. Almost everything else in the store had been devoured already by the hungry dogs, even the rock-hard stuff in the cold boxes at the back; only the cans were untouched, seeing as nobody could open them.
Staring at the small, round piece of metal, Serena tried smashing it against the floor, but every time it simply bounced back up, looking as if though nothing had happened to it. After many unsuccessful attempts at getting it to yield, Serena gave up, tossing in angrily into a corner and heading over to a different aisle. Here, the shelves were quite bare, except for the ones at the top, which nobody could reach. A good, solid shoulder sent the shelf crashing into the aisle behind it, and Serena picked her way through the metal carefully, tearing open the bag of bread greedily and feasting to her heart's content.
Finally, the last few crumbs were licked up, and she padded outside again, full and comfortable. Spotting a small mutt, a loner, scrabbling to get into a dumpster, she watched him disdainfully for a few moments before continuing on, knowing full well that the dog would find nothing in there. She and her pack had emptied it of all eatables weeks ago.

Username: Soriams
Character Name: Redundant Memories
Character Nickname: Ram
Age: 3 1/2
Gender: Male
Breed: Greyhound
Rank: Second
Appearance: Typical black tuxedo greyhound, tall lean and thin. Weighs about 85 lbs.
Personality: Ram is a laid back kind of dog. He is strong and self assured and finds little reason to prove himself. Thus he will probably never be the alpha of a pack due to lack of initiative. He has a great appreciation of power and those who wield it well, as well as a contempt for those who flaunt it and have nothing to back it up. Ram is quick to put such dogs in their place. He is also extremely competitive from his former life, and can't stand the thought of someone trying to best him at anything.
History: Ram was a racing greyhound. At 3 years old, he was in his prime. Fully trained and at the peak of health he was a promising racer. He was left with about 20 other dogs in the turnout pen of their kennels when the humans died and never came back. Working together they managed to push down the fence and escape the certain death of being trapped without food. Having been trained by the humans to essentially chase down and kill prey, the hounds did quite well for themselves in the wild at first. Hunting small game on their own and working together to take down larger animals. However, even with humans gone, it proved to be impossible for a group of 20 dogs to find enough prey to feed all of them.Therefore, the pack split up into about six groups and went their separate ways. The group that Ram was in decided that the best course of action would be to head towards the city where hopefully there would be more food and human leftovers. The little pack found this to be a truly monumental task and members were lost one by one, until the only dog remaining to make it to the city was Ram.
Mate: None. There was a dog that Ram used to adore in the kennels, Aurora, but he was forced to leave her trapped behind the bars of her cage when he escaped.
Crush: None.
Pups: None
Other: (If it is alright, I would like for Ram to be part of Serena's pack. Your choice if he is already there or meets her and joins.)

(Accepted, I'll add you in a minute. And I'll probably end up changing his rank to "Second" if you don't mind, since that's the equivalent of Beta here. And also, sorry for the massive first post, I just needed to get the setting and mood down.)

Ram stirs from his sleep and gets up, stretching his long muscles in an expressive bowing motion. He yawns, and closes his mouth with a little click of he teeth, then looks around at the other sleeping members of his pack. Almost immediately he notices that Serena is missing. She must have gotten up early again. He thinks, She always has to be the first one up. You'd think she was afraid she would miss something if she wasn't. Ram shakes out his black fur and peers outside, hoping to see Serena.

The sun has not yet reached above the horizon, but the sky is brightening quickly and it will soon be morning. The mist is beginning to lift, but still hangs in the low places, stained gold with the nearing sun. Ram blinks and takes a few steps out on to the sidewalk and promptly skids on the ice. Cursing under his breath, he soon finds his balance with a little bit of extremely ungraceful flailing and sets his feet firmly underneath him. Stupid humans and their love of hard surfaces. He thinks, making certain his stance is stable. Ram then puts his nose to the ground, picking up Serena's scent and starts to head carefully after her.

He is about half way to the convenience store when he sees Serena come out and head back towards the pack. He lifts his head and wags his tail quickly back and forth, greeting his leader, as he slowly continues towards her.

{Serena}
Giving Ram a simple flick of her tail, Serena continued down the sidewalk, averting her eyes from the blinding glint of the frosted ground. She knew he'd understand that she wanted alone time; Ram was a pretty good judge of character, as well as a solid, sensible dog who understood the difference between wielding power and flaunting it. Why else would she choose him to be her Second? Serena acknowledged the fact that she had several excellent leaders in her Pack, all of whom were good choices, but Ram was the only one that didn't seem greedy for power. But she did know that he lacked motivation in life, seeing no need to try to prove himself to those around him. Shaking her head, she ducked into a tiny alleyway, sidestepping a fluffy, orange cat, before continuing on her walk. Ram, despite being an excellent Second, would probably never be able to lead. That's what her job was, and she knew that she'd find the right successor someday.

Ram sighs when Serena walks past him. Guess she isn't in the mood for a friendly morning chat. He thinks to himself, smirking at his own sarcasm. Serena was never in the mood for a 'friendly chat' no matter what time of day it was. He snorts out a bit of a snarky laugh and blinks as the sun finally crests the horizon setting the glistening sidewalks ablaze in burning orange light. His eyes quickly adjust and turns to head back to the rest of the pack. It is then that the orange tabby, disturbed by Serena's presence mistakenly decides to leave the alley.

Ram friezes in his tracks, head up and ears perked at the sudden appearance of the cat. He stands there, every muscle tense as he and the little animal lock eyes. Hello.. Breakfast! He thinks, as the cat lets out a loud hiss and bolts. Wrong move. He thinks happily as he stand there, tense, waiting for the animal to get a satisfactory enough head start to make the chase interesting. A few seconds later, Ram releases the tension in his body and explodes forward. He reaches his top speed in less than three strides and his fast moving paws eat up the distance between him and the cat. The tabby tries to bolt into the next ally, but Ram's claws find purchase on the now thawing sidewalks and he makes the turn easily. By this time, the distance has narrowed from a about fifteen yards to only a couple of paces, he pushes forward and closes the gap. His jaws close on the animal with a satisfying snap and the cat goes limp.

Happy with himself, Ram trots out of the alley with his kill and heads back to the pack to sit and eat.

Ducking under the balcony of another apartment, Serena curled herself up into a tight ball. She knew she had to get back to her pack sometime, but she relished the few moments she had to herself every morning. Letting her thoughts wander, she remembered how the air had felt... more crisp, sharp and icy than it did yesterday, and shuddered. Winter was definitely coming, and by the looks of it, it was coming on fast.
