☞HAWKFROST nodded curtly at the older warrior's input, more than happy to use his size against the badger's anchoring. With any luck, the pair would have an easy go at toppling the black and white creature, leaving it vulnerable for the other three. The large tom shook the fresh snow from his pelt, his claws sliding out and crunching softly against the packed powder underpaw. "Ready? One, two, three!" he snarled, hurling himself towards the badger, knowing that Jaysong would be at his side. The warrior kicked up a flurry of snow behind him as his powerful hind legs propelled him forward into the clearing. With a deep growl, the ginger beast dropped his shoulder, launching himself full force at the mangepelt. Hawkfrost threw all of his weight into the strike, knowing that the patrol would only be successful in they could unbalance the vicious creature.

☞CROWPAW returned his mentor's smile with one just as big, a sense of pride and admiration welling in his chest at her encouraging words. Following Swiftstar's lead, the young cat lowered his fairly large body as close as he could to the forest floor, falling eerily silent, only the soft scraping of snow against his fur or the gentle crunch of his paw steps audible. Though he'd boasted about catching rabbits, he knew any prey was good prey at this stage, and wasn't willing to let any potential food slip through his grasp because he'd set goals far too high for himself. Parting his jaws, the apprentice drew in a deep breath, allowing the scents of the forest to bathe his tongue as his murky green eyes shifted amongst the trees. Pausing in his movements, the dark tabby pricked his ears, searching for scuffling and heartbeats. He stood as still as a statue for what seemed like ages before a soft squeak caught his attention. Large head snapping to his right, narrowed eyes sought out the source, landing on the small brown body of a mouse. Without a second glance at his leader, the big tom slipped forward along the forest floor until his was practically on top of the poor creature. One fast swipe of his heavy paw ended its life.

☞ASPENCLOUD watched as his two warriors slipped off towards the side of the hollow. Satisfied with their positioning, he gestured for the two she-cats to follow his lead. The deputy lowered his body, creeping stealthily through the snow towards the tree line, utilizing the trunks to keep them hidden. "Silverpaw, you'll stay by me, and only go on my command." he murmured over his shoulder to the young apprentice. "Chestnutfur, I'll have you move two trees down in order to come in at an angle." he instructed softly. From there, the sleek black cat led his temporary apprentice as close as was needed in order to attack the badger as soon as it was unbalanced. "Remember your training. You are prepared for this. Go for the unprotected spots." he reminded Silverpaw gently, wanting to ease any nerves she may be experiencing.

☞BIRCHPAW knew that birds were an especially hard creature to hunt as they were naturally nervous. The possession of wings didn't bode well in her favor either, so the pretty she-cat knew she'd have to play her cards just right in order to provide food for one of her clanmates. The apprentice could feel Silvermist's eyes on her, but she quickly forced the feeling down as she knew the need for prey outweighed her self-consciousness. All she had ever wanted was to make her mentor proud of her, and now she was given an opportunity. There, just at the base of a berry bush, sat the blue bird. Pecking away at what scraps remained of the once full leaves, the jay seemed to be utterly absorbed in its work. She would have to act quickly if she were to catch the bird by surprise. Not taking another second to ponder her options and allow the prey a chance to flee, the apprentice struck. In a flurry of claws and wings, Birchpaw managed to drag the bird back to earth mid take off, quickly putting it to rest.

The tom snorted at Bramblewhisker as he scurried inside to see Treekit. "Treekit!" he meowed happily. He felt delighted to see his kit again, "It has been moons!" he said wrapping his tail around her.

Silvermist beamed at her apprentice. "Great job!" She said, admiring the plumpish bird Birchpaw held between her jaws. After two successful catches, Silvermist guessed all the other prey would've run off, if there was any left! She debated whether to pratice some battle moves or head home but came to the conclusion that Birchpaw didn't need anymore fight training. Her paws pulled her upwards and she gestured towards camp before picking up her mouse and padding away.

Sandpaw wandered over the other side of the clearing and headed into the medicine den. "Bramblewhisker?" Sandpaw called, smiling as she met him. "Do you need me to do anything? Collect herbs?" She asked kindly.
Sandpaw's smile turned into a frown when the medicine cat ignored her. When Bramblewhisker rushed out of the den, she couldn't help but feel offended. The she-cat stepped out of the den in time to see Bramblewhisker confronting an unfamiliar cat. An intruder! Sandpaw, eyes blazing, ears flat, marched over to them. She didn't catch the conversation and was astounded when the medicine cat let the stranger past. "What?!" She interrupted, disrespectfully, confused as to why the newcomer was being welcomed.

Swiftstar caught movement out of the corner of her eyes. She turned her head slightly to see what it was. It seemed as though her apprentice had already managed to locate prey. Pride sparkled in her eyes as she watched the tom. Focusing back on to her own hunting, she glanced around. A small furry body laid near a large tree. The she-cat padded over to it cautiously. A vole was laying there, lifeless. Her eyes crawled up the tree. A bird must have dropped the prey out of their nest. She was wary of taking the vole. What if something was wrong with it. Deciding to take the risk, she picked up the vole and carried it over to a spot where the snow was lightest. Digging a hole she dropped the vole inside and covered it up. Hopefully, whatever had killed the vole wouldn't make an attempt to find it.

Jaysong unsheathed his sharp claws, digging them into the snow as he prepared to attack. His whole body was tensed up, ready to dart forward at any given moment. Once Hawkfrost had counted to three, the tom pelted towards the badger, careful to keep up with the tom's pace. They would need to push into the creature at the same time for this to work. At the perfect opportunity, he hurled himself at the badger's shoulder. The tom used all of the strength that he had in the push, wanting to ensure they were able to successfully knock over the badger.

Graymist found a spot in the dirt where little snow covered the ground. She dug a small hole and dropped her catch inside of it. As she covered the prey, the excited meow of Wolfpaw caught her attention. The gray tabby turned around, padding over to her apprentice. "What is it, Wolfpaw?" The young apprentice had sparked her curiosity. Parting her jaws, she took in the taste of nearby prey. In the back of her mind, she wondered how the others were doing.

Silverpaw followed after Aspencloud, making sure to stay close to him. At his instructions, she nodded her head. The apprentice had no objection to staying near the deputy. As they padded closer to the location of the badger, her heart began to race. This was really about to happen. "Remember my training. Right." She repeated in a quiet voice as she nodded her head. The silver tabby watched with wide eyes as Hawkfrost and Jaysong appeared out of nowhere and hurled themselves into the badger. Her head turned towards Aspencloud, waiting for his command to go.
