@maninkari beautiful bully though. an irresponsible owner,
but if you could take a picture of it i presume it wasn't all
aggressive. sadly uk doesn't allow us to have pits and such.
    real shame.
they actually do a 'measurement' with tape and if it's like
that of a staffie, they put it down regardless of its
    temperament.

JJ is the dog in the pictures not the bully maninkari saw. I also know there are some guidelines for those that do have them? I’m unsure as I don’t live there.

Oh lord guys I’ve gone insane.

I found pictures of my past dogs on my old Droid phone (explains the horrible quality)

Swisher, he was a Boxer/APBT (or so we were told)

Mind Isay I was so young I had no say so in Swisher.
Meaning my parents hated anything bully breed related.
They still do. So they gave him away to someone my dad worked with.
And eventually found out by the guy that’s someone “stole” Swisher.
So I have no idea where he is or if he’s even still alive.

- -

Ah yes, mister Brutus, I believe he was either a poorly bred lab OR a lab/chow mix.

Again I had no say so. I was young. My parents couldn’t afford his vet bills.
We were very very poor. And Brutus had at least 3+ seizures a day.
My patents dropped him off at the shelter when I was in school.
And from there he found a new home & seizures occurred still..
The shelter made a post about him one day... sadly he passed in his sleep at his new home..
I was devastated... He was a good dog..

You can legally own a PitBull in the UK as long as you follow the rules for owning one.
https://www.gov.uk/control-dog-public/banned-dogs

If you can prove the dog isn't a danger to the public and are willing to get the dog chipped, S/N, muzzled in public and training classes you can legally keep it and get it exempted by the government.

I know plenty of people who have American Bullies! c: There's someone further up my street who has a lovely classic bully, and there's been a show already this year and I think there's another coming up. American bullies aren't pitbulls, and aren't on the banned list under UK legislation.
And as Angelus Gaston said, they're legal as long as you follow certain requirements.
If bullies weren't so full of irresponsible breeders, I'd look into getting a nice standard, classic or XL bully.

Exactly. Calling bully breed mixes 'pitbull' actually kills hundreds of them each year. But the same people saying 'oh pitties never hurt anything' and 'Stop BSL!' are the same ones feuling it. Only pitbull there is is the American Pitbull Terrier.

AmBullies are nice though! Too bad the breed is full of BYBs, disgustingly bred dogs and extremely minimal (really none) health testing.

i would never consider owning a pit bull or 'pit bull type'.
they get measured and if of the measurements they will
put the dog down. if i owned said dog and it ran away,
jumped a fence or just was temporarily out of my care
and loose on the streets, it could be killed.
they measure dogs so if they have the structure of a
banned breed or a lot of similarities, they are more than
    likely going to be killed.
if i were to buy one, that would be putting the breeder or
seller in trouble with the law.
    " • sell a banned dog
    • abandon a banned dog
    • give away a banned dog
    • breed from a banned dog "
with these rules in mind, i wouldn't be able to have a banned
bitch that got pregnant as that would be breeding, wouldn't
be able to sell the puppies and i would never abandon one
    anyway.

if it didn't even run, then it could still be taken away even if
    it wasn't:
    " • it isn’t acting dangerously
    • there hasn’t been a complaint "

even if the dog looks remotely like a banned breed, it can be
taken away and destroyed. it states "whether it is (or could be)"
potentially dangerous. there are many things that can state
slight aggression (protection-wise) and if the dog does even
one of these things (which house dogs do) it could be destroyed.

    also:
You can give up ownership of your dog but you can’t be forced to.
If you do, your dog could be destroyed without you even going to
    court.

a lot of dogs in the uk are put down for being staffies or staffie mixes.
this is due to the resemblance in structure or colour of the dog. they
are only measured - no genetic testings are done.

also, i wouldn't get one even if i did want one. i feel as though it is
cruel to keep your dog on a leash whenever you leave - especially if
you hike and want to teach your dog to heal or whatever. leashes are
fine and i keep my dogs on them but i would want to let them off it
if i ever went to a dog-friendly beach and let them fully socialise or
    run around.
some parts of the ied however i think all dog owners should do.

Chess's vet visit was a few days ago. The vet found giant scabs in between her toes that were removed and treated and now she's on antibiotics.

To my brother's very outwardly expressed dismay, we will not be adopting sweet little Moya. He went into a sort of depression for a whole day when dad finalized things and said no.

We've moved into the new house and everyone loves it. I just finished putting Justin's kennel back together and everyone is running around the backyard playing keep away.
I have quit. Goodbye.
Profile pic is art of my GSD/Elkound mix, Justin. Credit to Kasezki on Deviantart.

^ Are you able to get another picture? Just so that I can see all the little details that might distinguish her from another breed. :)
