I had the amazing opportunity to work with Lacey’s groomer for a week, and I loved it! She even groomed Lacey, let me take photographs and help out. As you can tell, Lacey loves her grooming, she even falls asleep when she’s being cut. We’re definitely lucky in that way, I’ve met some owners that can’t brush their dogs because they’re afraid of getting bit. Very thankful to our breeder who got them used to the brushes when they were very young, especially with a breed that requires daily grooming.

Somehow I managed to survive the night guys! After Kestrel’s murder face yesterday I wasn’t sure I would 😂

They are passed out now, we went on a 2 hr rainy hike this morning. They loved playing in the mud and water, It poured when we headed back to the cars though so no need for baths luckily lol. After that we went to Bass Pro Shop where O rode in the cart and Kes walked beside me. I’ve gotta get better at telling people not to touch O, or atleast her ears 😐 drives me nuts when people go right for her ears, like can’t you see those things are busy learning to stand?

After that we went to lunch, then headed to Petsmart where I carried O around and then weighed her. 14 lbs! They got some new treats and a new stuffable toy since they price matched it from $17 to $6 lol

Finally we came home and took some pics before they went into their kennels and passed out, glad to leave them knocked out before I go to my family’s house tonight! Makes me feel better leaving them lol

How do you recommend introducing a cat to a dog that has been around cats but is sketchy? She's not aggressive. I think she is curious. The first cat she was around, she was super young pup and chased him into a back room. She wasn't biting or anything, just shoving her face into his. That was the entire first reaction. A few months ago was her second reaction at the age of 1 year 3 months. She "mouthed" the cats rail but didn't bite or anything. She was on edge the when around them and whines the whole time. She acted like she wanted to play. But when the cats were in the back rooms, she was perfectly normal. She does the mouthing thing to my other dog as well, especially during play or when she wants to herd the dog. I'm just not sure where to go with this. I've always wanted a cat or two as well as dogs. I know of many people who have both and works just fine I also know of people where it didnt work but they trained the dog to accept it and it was perfectly fine. If it helps any, she is a lab husky gsd mix.

Here's an article on dog to cat introductions to help you out. http://www.littlebigcat.com/behavior/cat-to-dog-introductions/. Remember to take the time to brush up on both dog and cat body language so you know when either has had enough and can end the session before someone lashes out. Do not leave them alone unsupervised during this process, and be aware some dog/cat combinations may never be able to be left together unsupervised. Also exercising your dog before meet and greets will help her be calmer around them. Make sure your cat is able to get away, provide cat trees, shelves, etc. so the cat can always easily get out of reach of a the dog. And no matter how well they get alone inside do not assume they will do the same outside, outside is a whole different thing.

A huge American Bully was loose today and came up to me and JJ. Of course, the one time I don't want it to come over it approaches, I guess to see JJ. JJ being JJ was down to fight and as soon as that dog stiffened in front of her she went nuts, so I was holding her back and keeping this other dog away at the same time. Luckily some kid came to get him, so JJ didn't get herself beat up today lol. I think we would have been fine anyway, as long as I didn't let her get to him. He was pretty friendly to me.

^ Glad everything worked out. I hate irresponsible dog owners.
