"What are you playing?" she asked. She walked to her car and opened the door for him, but she hesitated and looked at his shoes.
"Do you mind if you could take off your shoes, this car is new and cost a fortune," she said.

"I was playing Blues is Six," said Darius, slinging the saxophone case over one shoulder as he walked over to the car. When she told him what she wanted him to do he said, "My shoes? Why-" he looked down, to see that they were covered in sand. "Okay, I guess." He sat down in the passenger seat and smacked the sand off of his sneakers, then held them on his lap. "Do you suppose it's alright if I leave Lil here by herself?" he asked. "I don't want anything to happen to her."

Anne looked confused for a moment then noticed the car
"The car will be fine," she said. She hit the accelerator and the car zoomed off, very fast She looked at his clothes and sighed
"Your not going into the room dressed like that," she said and stopped at a suit makers shop.

"Oh, yes I am," said Darius, not getting out of the car. "I am not playing saxophone at a party dressed like James Bond."

Anne put her hands on her hips and said crossly
"Either you come and get a suit or your not stepping foot in that room,". She opened the door of the car for him.

Darius frowned at her, but he wasn't about to throw away his one big chance. "Fine," he said, "But on my terms. I'm not wearing a tux. And I want a cool jazzy fedora."

Anne sighed as she entered the shop. A small french man hurried forward
"Madame Anne, it is nice to see you again, please take a seat," said the man, and he pulled forwrad a large chair.
"I`m looking for a suit for him," said Anne sitting down.

"Yup," said Darius, walking in after her with his arms crossed. "Apparently I'm getting a suit today." He glanced around the walls, looking at the fancy jackets and pants and ascots. Then his eyes landed on a trim black suit, one with a gray undershirt. It looked like something Louie Armstrong would wear- and that made it perfect. [He was a famous jazz musician way back when ^^]
