Kate got up and walked over to Lilly brushing roughly past Andrew. "Hey Lilly. Taking in the atmosphere?", she laughed a little. "Probly thinking about our first Quidditch match and how you're going to lose." Kate whiped around drawing her wand. "You!? What are you talking about?! James allways get's the snich before you."

Lily lifted her head, letting it fall backward so she stared at the ceiling. She closed her eyes and sighed for a moment before coming back to reality. Somehow, James had come back into the conversation. No matter what anyone was talking about around her, it seemed to relolve around the stupidest things ever, like Quidditch and James. Sure she enjoyed a good game, but all the talk just got annoying after a while. "I could care less if your house wins, or mine." Lily said, turning to face the girl.

Andrew snorted and walked away behind his fellow Slytherins. Kate glared watching him for a moment. Then she turned back to Lilly and gave an appologetic smile, “Sorry about that. Anyway I’m Kate Bergeston, a fourth year too. Want to head back to the dormitories?”

The sixth year Slytherin walked through the halls and down to the dungeons. Then he walked through the common room and flopped quiet relaxed on the couch. He pulled out his wand and twirled it as if examining it for any possible flaws.

James walked toward the common room, brushing past Lily as he did."Hey Evans." He said with his signature smirk. He walked on, heading towards the dorm.

"Potter" Lily replied, rolling her eyes at his stupid face. She turned back to Kate, "Sure, lets go." She said, a little more softly now. As they worked their way towards the common room, trailing James the whole way, Lily couldnt help but want to throw something at his overly inflated head. She glared at it, really wishing she still had that paper ball in her hand. She shook off the idea and turned to Kate. "So, how was your summer?" She asked, trying to forget the obnoxious toerag strutting in front of them.

Kate just shrugged, "Same as useuall. Studied up on a couple of spells and completed an essay for Defense Against the Dark Arts. Other then that nothing too eventfull." Kate glanced at the other students breifly and then back to Lilly. "What about your's?", she asked.

"Pretty much the same. Mostly hung out at the park near my house. Nothing interesting, though, I did find a rabbit. It now lives at my house. I wanted to bring it to school, but, its just a normal rabbit, not very smart, and with all the cats and owl around, Mr.Cottontail would probably be devoured by next week." Lily told Kate, finally reaching the Fat Lady's portrait. "Um, did you get the password?" She asked. "I was a little busy, and didnt come up with the head of house, as you can see." Lily smiled at the Fat Lady, who was eying her impatiently.

Kate smiled and looked back at the Fat Lady. "Capit Dracones.", she said eyeing the portrait. The portrait swung open and Kate smiled and walked through.

"Ill have to remember that." Lily mumbled, stepping through the entrance after Kate. She walked over toward the fireplace, sitting in one of the large, squashy armchairs. This one was her favorite, it got the best reading light from the fire, the most heat, and it was the most comfortable. "So, now what?" She asked, looking up at Kate, licking a bit of sauce that was left on her finger off.
