Imzadi: I never heard of "no mugging"! It sounds helpful, thank you. I'll have to give it a try tomorrow before continuing sit.

His fussing is really quite adorable, he sounds like a little squeaky toy. I have to fight to ignore him when he does it.

Here's a video on "No Mugging" for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRT6r6d79OU

Chloe sounds like a squeaky toy when she barks. When she wants something she gives the most pitiful whine I've ever heard.

I can't get over the way her pupils shrink haha

I was handing her the newspaper sheets to tear up and I think she head something, I didn't hear anything though.

"Its yer choice" is a fun game to play to help with mugging, most dogs pick it up pretty quick too.

Edit: ooh there are new dog stamps for our CS stamp collections!

Imzadi83 , they have the chinese crested staff pet on the stamp representing the toy group!

Some more pics from last weekend! Kes had so much fun! We are going out again Sunday with Mal, Miya, Kota and two new aussies Abby and Lucy!

Tomorrow I’m going over to her breeders house to meet Kestrel’s half siblings that are like 5 weeks old and take some photos! Hoping to get a family photo of Kes if she will sit near her dad long enough lol. Also getting to go out to a farm and take pics of some livestock and some more aussies which I’m excited about!

Chewie boy is getting a new collar soon, found a nice spiked leather collar for a good price so decided my boy needed something new since Kes and O got new bandanas yesterday. (Sale, and they didn’t have any his size lol)

If the dog has:
- Lack of shelter
- Lack of food/water
- Lack of sanitation
- Abandoned (heavily restricted from human socialisation/illegal in all 50 states)
- The animal is tied or caged
- Chained.[/quote]

Are these signs of abuse?

I dont really consider a couple of these to be black and white. Chaining and tethering can be pretty grey area and if done responsibly certainly arent abuse. Not having visible food/shelter/water also is pretty grey area. I mean a nasty 5x5 pen with a clearly emaciated dog and you know its there aaalllll the time is pretty different than a well fed dog put on a chain to excersize for a couple hours with no dog house or visible food, lol.

haven't posted on here in a very long while!

taught my pupper kato, to play the piano on command. it's pretty cute. i'm a little worried that the keyboard might get scratched up though. anyways, im gonna be dog sitting for a few days starting monday! the dog is an older husky named max. pretty chill and actually puts up with my boston terrier. my dad wasn't for it though, but i bullied him into saying yes [whoops]. the dog will have to stay downstairs though. im gonna sleep in the basement suite so he won't get lonely, but im worried how he will cope while i'm at school, with being in an environment that he's not used to. i would leave kato down with him, but they've never been alone together so i wouldn't feel comfortable in doing so. max is very tolerant and patient but if kato pestered him too much something could happen. I was wondering if any of you guys could help with that?

on a side note, i was finally able to find some dog food with some better ingredients. it's canned, by president's choice. i picked up a few different ones to try out cause kato can have a picky stomach (he'll eat anything, but likely throw up). link to one of the canned foods . if anyone would give me a second opinion on it, that would be great!

hi! im doing one of those breed recommendation things. im not looking for a dog currently but in a couple years and want to start researching as i plan on being a breeder in the future. i just want different information on breeds and what you think would work best for me!

dog experience i have had: i have worked with mastiffs, dobermans and labradors. i have had little experience with other breeds as these are the breeds we have learned. of those breeds i want a dog that would be closer to a doberman in terms of intelligence and energy. i am hoping to grow my experience in the future!

energy level: i am quite lazy as i have no reason to be more energetic. when i get my license i plan on going on hikes and things. im hoping i will have money to be able to do a lot of things in the future!

what im looking for: a sports dog, pretty much. a loyal companion that can also excell in many sports. flyball, agility, french ring, schutzund, dock diving, bike joring, ski joring and probably more! along with going on hikes and adventures. i want a high energy and easy to train dog with lots of drive. one that is NOT aggressive towards other dogs or prone to aggression. i also want to possibly show the dog. i want a dog that i can use to start a breeding program (like a reputable breeder, not BYB)

breeds ive looked into: german shepherd, belgian malinois and belgian tervuren.

other notes: dont look at lil ol’ current me! i am hoping to go to a dog trainer’s school to learn different things. i also will have more money to be able to do things (hopefully)! i plan on being a reputable breeder for a breed that i can provide police and military with. i also want to own my own dog training facility. (-:

Honestly I would not start a breeding program with a breed you are new to, there's too much you should learn and do before considering breeding. And I can't imagine a reputable breeding knowing it's your first dog of that breed giving you a dog with the intention to breed it. Unless you wanted to work closely with them and co-own a potential stud perhaps.

If you're going to work closely with a breeder you should find with you want to work with, whom is available and willing to work with you may influence your choice of breed as well. At the very least talking and interacting with actual show breeders will give you a lot more information about potential breeds then we can. Are there any events in your area for the potential sports you're interested in?

Often police and military have their own breeding programs and don't welcome outside dogs, but you would have to check with the specific organization you want to work with. Honestly if that's the case I'd recommend looking into those programs to work with instead of having your own operation.

Since you've worked with Labradors before and also looked into German Shepherds I'd recommend volunteering to train a guide/service dog. You can also host breeding dog, even a mother with puppies. Based on what you plan to do in the future I'd suggest doing all three at least once. That will give you a ton of experience, not to mention a great resume to show to any future breeders who will be considering giving you a dog with the intention to be breed.

Oml this is ridiculous but it happened.

So Levi has unofficially become my little brothers dog. He's uncontrollable and I know that will become a problem when he gets older (A 50-60 lb black lab BC mix) He's spoiled rotten and he thinks he can get whatever he wants just because that's how my brother treats him. I think it was my mom's decision because she wanted to teach him responsibility.

I don'y know how Levi will be a manageable dog, I'm starting to think of asking my dad about a foster for him or giving him to a friend.
I have quit. Goodbye.
