I still can't wrap my finger around the new concept. I don't understand how setting monsters with levels or whatever it is = another monster. Isn't it like fusion or sacrificing a monster for a new one?

Which new concept? Links are kinda tricky but Synchro and Xyz summoning is pretty straightforward.

Ah, Synchro and Xyz are pretty easy.

For Synchro you need a Tuner monster (It will say Tuner in the card texts like on this Junk Synchron) and then monsters whose levels add up exactly to your Synchro's level.

For example, let's say you want to Synchro summon Tatsunoko and you have Deep Sea Diva on the field.
Let's look at what you need to summon Tatsunoko; it says you need 1 Tuner monster and 1 non-Tuner monster. Your Deep Sea Diva is a Tuner at level 2. So you need a non-Tuner at level 1 (since Tatsunoko is level 3. 1+2=3!)
You can summon Neptabyss the Atlantean Prince, a level 1 non-Tuner.
You have 1 non-Tuner at level 1, and a Tuner at level 2. That fulfills the requirement to summon Tatsunoko.

Xyz I need to find instructions on since that one it's way easier to show than explain. Links I don't use in my duels too much except for my Mermails if I feel daring.

I understand it now!! I was confused bout' tuner monsters, but I get it! Thanks for the clear explanation! For xyz, I know that they don't have levels. Is it that you sacrifice two monsters with the same level to summon and xyz monster? I've seen a lil bit of arc v so I kind of have a sense of what's going on...? Maybe..?

Subbed GX is awesome! I haven't watched all of it, but I've seen at least season 4 of course since 4Kids decided to drop it before it was dubbed.

Judai's character change from happy go lucky kid to being way more serious and responsible in season 4 was more heartbreaking for me than I thought it would be. Although you really see him starting to mature in season 3, which was a pretty depressing season if you ask me.
