Can’t remember if I posted these or not, but oh well you can never have too much Kestrel right? Lol

Got told today that I need to start walking more, so my moms finally going to start letting me take my girl out on walks! Can’t wait to start spending some nice one on one time with Kes again, and getting some training in! I feel like I haven’t really seen her except short pets and cuddles in the 2 weeks since my surgery so I am beyond excited to get the clear for walks! Gotta get her back to behaving before we go pick up Octavia in a few weeks!

Staying with her ‘grandparents’ is fun for her, but they don’t enforce rules like I do. Both of them have been spoiled rotten the past few weeks and need a reality check on behaving again lol. Can’t fault my parents too much, they are super cute and I get not wanting to get on them lol

my dog is so spoiled, lol. i tell him to sit and "look cute" for treats and all he has to do is look at me with his big droopy hound dog eyes and he gets his treat.

Uh, well, I'm just going to leave Jasper out of this because that would be unfair as he's required to know a lot of advanced tasks for my sake.

I'll just choose........Sam.
Sam's most advanced trick is probably doing a spin-bow? I kind of just taught her it. Well, she already knew spin and bow, so I just put them together and voila! you have a spin-bow. :lol:

@awakening souls.
@Sparkfire

Thank you all for your advice!
We live right near a college so we might have a college student come by some days and let the dog out into the yard for five minutes and pick up any poop. The dog we're thinking about getting is available and we're going to meet him this weekend.

Molly, my lab died on monday. She was 13, and died asleep. That said, I have an aussie who needs a playmate, and we are not getting another dog (oh but I will beg for one). That said, any ideas to entertain Cricket? She really has no toys and we are afraid she tears the house to pieces out of boredom while we are gone, since she has never been an "only child".

My deepest condolences on your loss.

First in regards to Cricket I would strongly recommend you start alone training immediately to get her used to being alone. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGxhcb-itO4

Before you leave here give her a lot of exercise to tire her out, as the adage goes...A tired dog is a good dog.

Why doesn't she have toys? Puzzle toys like stuffed Kongs, wobblers and chewies (provided you can safely leave her alone with them) are a great way to entertain her when you leave.

You could also consider doggie daycare if she misses having a canine playmate. You could also hire a dog walker to visit during the day.

Also if needed you could always confine her to a dog safe area (or a crate) to keep her from destroying things out of boredom/stress.

Also here's a video on separation anxiety so you know what to look out for in case she does show signs of SA. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GqPQKLh883s
