Large dog breeds always being used for whichever purpose. Whether a pet for a human character, or a roleplay character, I only see huskies, collies, malamutes, dobermans, rottweilers, akitas, etc. I think my brain might just explode if I see one more every-dog-has-to-be-big in a stray dog roleplay.
Someone needs to make a teacup yorkie character.

This. In most of the stray dog RPs I'm in, I seem to be the only one with a 'different' dog breed - an English Springer Spaniel. Most of the ones I participate in seem to be flooded by these gigantic, evil-looking Dobermans that are actually big, playful softies that want somebody to love. Uh, seriously? ._.'

I have a new survival roleplay in mind where a whole grade + teachers are stranded on an abandoned island after their Outdoor Education trip is compromised with a large storm. It was actually a dream of mine last night :U
But when I go to plan out how the roleplay might go I am dissatisfied with the outcome.

I've tried this before. Sadly most large dogs don't cower in fear from crazy, yippy little puppies in RPs like they do in real life.
People never seem to realize that half the time dogs don't care how large they are, if something comes flying over at them and barking it's head off, they're going to be terrified. They're not going to think of how tough and awesome they are, and talk down to it.

So I don't have many small dog characters, they always get ripped in half (no joke =C) or just treated like a baby.
The smallest one I have is a coydog, but he's a snarky little arrogant brat and pretty tough, so no one really bothers him.

I want to make a new roleplay, but I already have a bunch of half-dead ones, and my forms there are only half-completed. :c
Also, even though I think the plot is relatively interesting, I don't think anyone would join unless it was with wolves, since those are, like, the only successful roleplays around. -_-
I always consider the likeliness that people will join (and stay), and sadly, I can only see people wanting to do wolves.

I don't know why I decided to post this since I've already made up my mind, but I just sort of felt like getting it off my chest, I guess.

Yeah, what no one understands about toy dogs is that they are actually the crazy ones that are likely to bite something to pieces. Big breeds are usually gentle giants... I would rather role play something small and snippy, like mentioned above, then something big and snippy. It isn't fair to be bonecrushingly witty and bonecrushing all at once xD... I role play the big dogs when things need a little more derp in the mix.

It's always so discouraging to look at all the role plays and after reading each one they become more and more similar. Eventually you just end up role playing the same story with different people. Especially wolf or dog role plays.

1. I've though about joining a stray dog Roleplay with a beagle or papallion, but most of those roleplays aren't very good quality...

2. I would join if you make it. I would die a million times. But I could see why you don't wanna make it... The bully would eat the nerds in a day.

Okay, I have a really great idea, here it is ! <3 {Well, I think that it's pretty good. Just don't hate on it and I'll be happy xD} Oh yeah, I forgot. One of the lines sounds like POTC, {Pirates of the Caribbean, best movie ever! <3} but I swear that it's my own idea.


The Debt

The rain lashes the girls back, lying down on the beach, despite the torrents of rain. Lightning cracks, but she stays outside. Her face would be wet by itself as she weeps over the life that she lost. "It's time," a voice says. The girl freezes, and the entire world seems to fall silent. "It's time, girl." "For what?" Her voice comes out, shattered and hollow. "You have a debt to pay." {That's the line I was referring to xD} "So it's really you. . ." she murmured. "If I recall correctly, I have no history of the sort, not of what you're looking for." "If I recall correctly," the man snarls, "Your sisters soul is now parted in two halves, one of the earth, and one of the afterlife. And you, if indeed my sources are correct, could have changed that. You have a debt to pay, and no man can escape it forever." There was an eerie silence as tears seeped from the girls face. Would she have really risked her own life to save her sister's? Yes, but fear had taken over. She had jumped off the street when the bus came and could only feebly call out to her, voice drenched in the pain of what she knew was going to happen. "It's time to pay your debt, girl." Her entire body felt the weakest it ever had, and the girls body emanated a blackish light. A broken scream entered her sisters reality, and that was the end of that girls life. . . well, the life she had been living.

Two nights after, she was plagued with wretched nightmares so awful that they would be impossible to describe in words. When she woke that morning, every human being she saw was surrounded in a halo of color; some purple, some red, some blue, some green. Thoughts swarmed her, some clearly not her own. Her head pounded with all the different thoughts swimming around, and she could hardly think straight. She could see souls of the broken, those who never made it to heaven, roaming the grounds of earth. Worst of all, she could see her sister. She could talk to her, but she would never answer.

So what is the debt? The debt is when someone could've saved a life, but didn't because of fear in the face of danger. The man that she saw was Sehktor, keeper of lost souls. When people die and they could've been saves, he places a plauge on them as a debt to the person that died. The debt is meant to give three factors of emotion: Pain, Grieving, and Guilt.They see people with auras, which predict how close they are to death. This punishment shows that if that person had just seen the aura then, they would've been able to save the person that died. This is supposed to burden that person with guilt. They hear the thoughts of others, which is supposed to represent how they could've felt the victims fear in the moment of death. This is burden someone with pain. And when the vicitm of the debt sees lost souls, they are burdened with grieving because they know that there were so many people that you could've saved, including the victim of the death you "caused". Only one out of a thousand people have been cursed with The Debt, but lately, the rate has gone up. Why? Because the curse has been passed on through a romantic relationship. In other words, if you kiss someone with The Debt, then you'd instantly be infected with it as well.

Rant: I made this Maximum Ride RP, a continuation of one where the owner left, and it never even got an actual RP post. Should I try to bring it back?

There's this one RP I really want to join, except... it's not open yet. D: And I don't know if I'll be able to handle it... it's on a topic I know, like, nothing about.

I once tried to join an RP as a Novia Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. My form was declined because I "tried to join as a nonexistant breed." Seriously. People are so ignorant.
That was a looong time ago though.
Except for my 3 huskies, I mainly use lesser-known dog breeds.

Next time anything like that happens, tell them to Google it. Answer to every counter like that. However, I tend to choose larger dogs myself, but I pick slightly different breeds than the normal pitbull or German shepherd. I roleplay as either a Harlequin Great Dane, or as a Mastiff.
