Just what are you, lil darling?
It still looks like a very diluted blue-browed tanager to me as far as the shapes and placements of the markings go.
But it seems an odd choice to me to replace the black with teal. I thought if that's what it is the markings would grow darker on the adult^^
She's very pretty regardless, though!

hmmh, i think it's just a stylization choice to lighten the black into a dark teal! i can't imagine what else she could be other than a blue-browed tanager, after all.... and i agree - the colors and pattern on this chicken are so lovely, gosh <3


@Jayfrost and Swiftalu you're killing me ??? i'm just. so in love with these foxes, by golly ♥ just look at those colors (the blue eyes are perfect, Heck), the aesthetically pleasing gradient, and peach accents..... i'm very curious to hear about who worked on what in this litter :^O

That one, the orange-eyed split pup, and the one with the black tail are all still pups. There are still 6 days left in the month, plenty of time for them to all grow. ^^

Maybe it's the female version? They have much lighter coloration, but that still wouldn't explain why the mask isn't black...

Sigh.
While 1 or two splits every now and then is a nice surprise, and adds a bit of challenge to the game
I really hate months like this, where there are so blasted many. The trading on this site has really taken a down-ward spiral lately, and in large part that is due to so many splits happening so often.
People are unwilling to trade newborns/1st stage pets ever any more. Because they are so convinced that every thing is going to split, and then we get months like this where everything does - next month you can count on newborns being darn near next to impossible to trade for.

And while it is nice and dandy to give the ol' 'well you can wait a month or two and the demand/desire will die down' blah, spiel all you want ... You know what? I like to watch my pets grow too. It takes a good deal of the excitement out waiting a few months just to get a pet.

I get the point of them, and they are needed every once and a while, but every blasted litter is too much.
I am tired of it.

While I'm not the artist and can't give you a definite answer, I can say that some real animal designs look weird or wrong on CS pets. Partly because of the linearts, partly because of the colours.
Maybe it didn't look good enough or strange with black? But that's something only Jayfrost can tell I suppose.

Nevertheless, I do enjoy this beautiful chicken. So far my favourite. <3

I'm so excited we got this cutie with such a nice colour. And its is easier recognisable than a spotted penguin :D (which exist too and they look quite adorable!) Absolutely my favourite of this month until now.

I thought that one was based off of a leucistic chinstrap? Like this one. It did come from the split of the chinstrap foal.
