Cloverpaw sat with her paws crossed beneath her as she stared blankly at the mouse she pulled from the fresh-kill pile. She wasn't really keen on eating alone, but everyone else seemed so busy. She knew she should eat, especially in celebration of the new deputy, but she couldn't muster it. She sighed, as she could feel the knots in her stomach forming, and took a small bite of the prey anyway. She chewed slowly, the taste of the creature dull to her taste buds.

"hi branchpaw!!" Thundertail galloped toward where branchpaw was sitting. "It's time for your first training session!" Branchpaw leaped up. "I can't wait!" Branchpaw's fur bristled in excitement. " First, we'll be doing some hunting practice, and then I'll teach you some fighting moves!" Branchpaw purred, "Well, lets go then!" the mentor and apprentice raced off into one of the hunting tunnels.
