─────── WHAT ARE LOTUS WATER DRAGONS? ───────

lotus water dragons, or lwds for short, are an amphibious
species typically found living in swamps or marshy areas.
their webbed feet allow them to manoeuvre efficiently
in water, but they are quite ungainly on land, with a
distinctive waddling gait.
the dragons typically live in small groups, of friendship
rather than family - related lwds rarely live together.
once their clutches of 3-4 rubbery eggs have been laid,
the hatchlings are no longer the responsibility of their
parents and are usually raised by the community as a
whole.
living on a very varied diet of anything from flowers and
vegetation to small shellfish cracked open with their
strong beaklike jaws, lwds have adapted to live through
many different situations!
a swamp inhabited by lwds is easily recognisable, as the
air will be filled with the echoing screams that the
creatures communicate with. they can be heard from up
to a mile away!

──────────── HOW DO I GET ONE? ────────────

lotus water dragons will soon be available for adoption!
when they are, look above this post for dragons with the
'adopt me!' label, and complete the artist's set competition
to have a chance to win! make-your-own lwds will one day
be available, when the species is more established, but
for now only artists can make dragons!

────────────── SPECIES RULES ──────────────
lotus water dragons are a closed species. you may not
make your own.
•
lwds cannot be traded for any kind of currency, or for
art, cs pets or non-lwd characters.
•
lwds can be any gender and have any sexual orientation.
pairs of any gender can breed, and discrimination will not
be tolerated.
•
you may use lwds offsite, but please credit the artist of
the design and the creator of the species, and link back
to the species if possible.
•
currently, one user may have no more than ten lwds,
whether they are main adopts or from a nursery batch.

────────────── LOTUS PETALS ──────────────
lotus petals are the currency of sorts used for this species.
artists may award them to competition entries they feel
deserve extra credit, or users who have contributed to
the community or species may receive some. staff also
gain lotus petals according to their activity.
they can be redeemed for custom lotus dragons or
used in future events!
