Sans was not prepared to be picked up and carried like a doll. Well, okay, it had happened before due to his height. But, Papyrus had never picked him up unless it was to throw him or something.
And when he picked him up this time, he braced for impact, but it never came. He wasn’t going to be thrown. He was still blushing and he buried his face in his hands adorably.

For the first time in...Sans couldn’t remember when, he laughed. Not the nervous chuckle he would succumb to every time Papyrus came near him, but a real laugh. He smiled widely as he was placed on his brother’s shoulder.

He had been zoning out, thinking about what his sister would do when he came home late. Coming back to reality, he jumped up, realizing they had already walked off. He chased after them, holding his hat in place. Nearly passing them in his rush,he grabbed Papyrus' shirt to stop himself. "Y-yeah, hi, I'm here," He said breathlessly. He hoped he wasn't intruding on anything important or heartfelt or whatever, that'd be awkward.

Sans stopped laughing when Papyrus suddenly got serious. He was right, it didn’t change the past. It didn’t change that Sans was constantly treated like a dog. Or, that he’d been forced to do Papyrus’ dirty work. Sans tried to block those thoughts from his mind. He sighed.
“It doesn’t change the past, you’re right…” he began,”But, you’re getting better, and I guess that’s all that matters. So, apology accepted.”
