Ryse flinched when Kora fell backward onto the floor and went to help her up, but noticed that if Kora wanted to get up, she would, so she let her lay on the ground. Upon hearing Kora make her promise, Ryse visibly relaxed and her eyes slowly faded back to orange and red. "Okay, thanks." She paused to think for a moment and blocked out some flashbacks. She'd likely be having them for a while now. "And yeah...it was pretty hard."
Ryse heard Kora's comment on the flower, but didn't know what to say, so she didn't say anything about it. "When do you think lunch will be over? I need something to distract my mind." She said with a hand subconsciously over one of her eyes.

Kora sat back up and shrugged,”I have absolutely no idea.”
She looked at her schedule. And squealed like a little kid in a candy store.
“Next is art!”she told Ryse,”That should distract your mind. It usually shuts my anxiety up, so that’s always good.”
She then set her mind to think of what she was going to draw. She could draw mythical creatures, people, misters she’d met. She thought it could be fun to draw Undyne or Alphys. She low key shipped the fish lady and Dino. She could even draw Ryse again and improve her earlier drawing of her fiery friend. Art was her favorite subject besides science. She loved how cool it was that she could create masterpieces at her fingertips if she wanted to without using her magic and causing a rucuss. Then, hearing Ryse saying it was hard to tell her, she looked down at the floor. “Well,” she said awkwardly,”At least you don’t have to bottle that information up inside of you. Right? Do you feel better now?”

Ryse's eyes got a little brighter at the mention of art. She'd always hated art at her old high-school because she'd been in that class with her primary bullies, but now she could enjoy drawing without worrying about someone splashing paint on her.
"Art? Cool! I hope there aren't any jerks in that class, I need a place where I can relax for once."
Ryse imagined the art class full of nice paintings and drawings and filled with a warm light. Everyone had their own place to work and there were plants hung in planters from the ceiling. It was certainly a far fetched hope to have such a nice place to work, but Ryse continued to imagine the perfect art room.
After a bit of this, Ryse shook the imagination out of her head and focused on turning her flames the color of the wall behind her. It was never a wrong time to practice. Especially when she wanted to curve her thoughts somewhere else.

Kora smiled. “Yeah, me too!! It would be horrible if the people that hurt Papyrus were in there. Sans might just stab them in the eyes with a pencil or something!” She laughed, glad that the mood was brightened a considerable amount. She opened her backpack and found some golden necklace chain. She strung it through a hole at the top of the vial wit the immortal flame and hung it around her neck like a necklace. The flame inside rested close to her where her heart was and warmed her chest. She looked up at Ryse to see her turning her flames the color of the wall. She stared in complete awe. “Ok, it’s official,” she laughed,”You’re officially the coolest person I have ever met!”

Ryse watched as Kora strung the vial through a chain and put the newly made necklace around her neck. A small smiled made its way onto her face and she moved her hand from her eye to the rose behind her ear. Though the rose was comforting, it felt cold compared to her flames. The cold of the rose and the deep shade of blue was nice change from her warm, red flames. After a minute of feeling the roses smooth, soft petals, Ryse put her hands on her lap and chuckled.
"If I'm the COOLEST person you've met, I suppose your the HOTTEST person I've ever met!" She said. Which completely not true. Ryse was the hottest person, she was sure of it. Kora was actually pretty cold by her standards.

Kora doubled over with laughter.
“That was really good!” She said.
She wiped her eyes and sighed happily. “I like this,”
she said, “Just being able to be honest with some one and being able to chat. It feels nice, don’t you think?”
She rested her head back aginst the lockers.
“You’re the first person I’ve told. I……haven’t told Sans yet. I don’t know why…I just could never find the words to explain.” She sighed in content. This really did feel nice, great, actually. She just let her mind wander calmly.

Ryse began to laugh along with Kora and felt a warm feeling that wasn't her fire. She ignored it as it faded away when she finished laughing. "Thanks! It was almost PUNINTENDED!" She laughed a little at that one and brushed a lock of flaming hair behind her ear. "But yeah. It's surprisingly nice."
Ryse waited for the bell to ring. Surely it had to go off soon. She waited silently, until Kora spoke again.
"I'd have thought you'd tell Sans before a stranger you've known less than a day. I guess I could say the same for myself though. Except, I'd not have old anyone until you came along."
She sighed happily and closed her eyes.

She burst out laughing at Ryse’s pun. She laughed until she couldn’t breathe.
“You’re killing me with these puns!” She gasped, still laughing.
Hearing what Ryse said next, she sighed happily.
“Well, you’re punnyness,” She said,”I’m glad I can give you peace and a good laugh. Well, you sure have been making me laugh. Seriously, you’re working my lungs TO THE BONE!”
She started firing finger guns at Ryse,”Eyyyyy.”

Ryse laughed at Kora's puns and prepared to sent a nuke of her own puns, but the bell rang before she could open her mouth. She looked up with narrowed eyes, grabbed her backpack and got up. "Art class, here I come!"
Ryse reached a hand out for Kora to grab and smiled. Time to sneak in a pun. "Okay get up you lazy bones." She snickered a little, but otherwise kept a straight face. Ahh. Having a friend like Kora to take Ryse's mind off everything would certainly be helpful.
