I think I've seen people use the airbrush tool with varieties of blues purples and blacks. you could try that, and use the scatter too for some stars!

What a babe <3
As for the galaxies, I could make you a small tutorial later for how I do mine if you want. ^.^ I usually mix at least 3 colors together, a deep true purple, a brighter more pink purple, maybe a blue, and even sometimes a teal green color. I usually use an airbrush to lay down where I want the galaxy, then fill in the more "solid" parts til they aren't opaque. Then you just blend, and at the end I always like to put the pen tool down to 1 and turn it to the round pixel setting, then I randomly make small dots to resemble stars. I also make small + kind of things to simulate sparkles. If that helps at all!
