"Leaf! How is Dawnteller in the tribe of Endless Hunting?"Wind asked as the new Healer walked through the tunnel into camp. Although she had never been friends with the former healer she was still concerned after being one of the first cats to join. "She's uh-fine. Said she was proud." her words seemed empty as she spoke, half empty. "And they said I was now the Chaser of Shimmering Dawn for perusing my dreams." her eyes shone happily. "That's great! I'm so proud of you." her mother continued, purring, only to be interrupted by Flicker. "Hey Leaf! Can we go train now?" Flicker asked eagerly, sniffing as she scented her way across the cave. "First we need more herbs. Wind, will you come?" Wind nodded. "Of course, Dawnchaser." Flicker squeaked, "A herb patrol? We need herbs for Ivy's eye. Also sorry Dawnchaser for not remembering your new name!" with that the to-be ran off to check on the herb supplies.

Weather Report.
It's Summer! The birds are singing joyfully as the snow has nearly thawed. The rich scents of the forest promise catching lots of prey. However there is a higher risk of rouges eager to cause trouble and dogs with their twolegs who have also grown excited to escape their nests.

weather: it is green-leaf! it's very hot, and drought is a possibility as the season progresses. prey and herbs are flourishing, kittings will pass smoothly, greencough and whitecough are extremely uncommon. cats will be more abundant and willing to join the tribe. be wary, though - predators are also plentiful! overheating is also a possibility.

[ the border patrol encounters a friendly loner who seemed quite interested by the tribe cats, willing to take on any role - will they let him join, or will they chase him away? ]
[ the herb patrol finds x2 cobwebs - they are about to, reluctantly, go back to the camp, when a she-cat approaches them. she appears to be of to-be age, and carries a cobweb. she explains that she'd been watching the tribe cats, and, seeing that they had not found the last cobweb they needed, had managed to locate one just over the ridge. if the tribe is willing, she would like to join - if she does join, the tribe will receive x1 cobweb in addition to a new to-be. otherwise, they can chase her off. ]

[ silver doesn't quite master the swimming skill - perhaps it should be revisited next moon? ]

Icefinder purred as the two cats returned back to camp. "Nicely done Sun," he mewed, glancing around. "Go ahead and put it over by those rocks," he said, stretching. "We can share some later," he meowed, glancing around. "Why don't you hunt again while I go ask for a protector?" he suggested, heading out to the area to speak with Tribe of Endless Hunting.

Sun nodded and trotted out. "Alright Icefinder," she meowed, glad to be helpful to her new tribe.

As Flicker scented just in case there were more herbs, a she-cat burst out of the bushes, a wad of cobwebs on her paw. Faint bird cries in the distance told Flicker that the patrol wouldn't be getting any birds today. "For you. If I helped, you don't have to tell me to shoo, right?" she asked skittishly. Flicker stepped forward hesitantly. "Why do you think we would do that?" Dawnchaser's voice was was soft, as if she was cautious not to scare her away. "Uh, 'cause." she answered. "You did help! Why are you scared?" the blind to-be stepped in, turning her head towards where the sound was coming. Branch hissed as Flicker stepped in but Dawnchaser stopped her sister. Flicker could sense Wind's sympathy for the fact that she was "young and foolish" and "a blind cat who doesn't understand" as she had heard from the older cats. A slight rustling sound told her that Silver had stepped beside her, eager to possibly do battle and prove her skills to her leader. Pearl purred behind them in amusement. "Is there a fox?" Silver asked. She clearly was itching to use her battle skills after not enjoying the swimming. "No." the younger she-cat snorted. "Where are you going? Can I come too?" she asked with enthusiasm. "back to our camp. If you want to come, tag along." Dawnchaser continued calmly. She was also clearly enthusiastic, remembering how Dawnteller had done this all the time. "O-Ok!"

The Tribe of Breaking Waves

Tideteller sat atop a rocky outcropping, the warm breeze ruffling her pale fur. The last few moons had been a bit sad, as only one cat had come to join her tribe, but she smiled as she watched Gull hop about on the stones below her. Gull That Flies at Dawn had come to join Tideteller deep into the winter months, frozen and starving, and she nursed her back to health in time to see the green of spring return. Now she was a trusty friend and a feisty young cat with boundless energy. They always had enough to eat under Gull's stealthy paw. Now would be the perfect time for more cats to arrive to join the two of them. They could learn the territory and be ready before winter arrived. She would be sure to speak to the ancestors tonight.

Gull sniffed around under the bases of the large stones. They were hot under her paws and she could not stand in one place for too long. She silently thanked the ancestors for gifting her with a white coat so that the sun did not strike her so harshly. She sighed after another mouse slipped through her claws and slid down onto the sandy beach. She watched the soon to be setting sun shine brightly against the crashing waves and breathed in the salty air contentedly. Thank goodness she had found Tideteller and this beautiful place. She would protect it with all her heart. With a flick of her tail, she turned and resumed her hunting mission.
