I've been so excited for these chicken to start growing up. I absolutely adore tonight's. Those colours are incredible!

So the forest pups are definitely based off of bears, then.
I know that the one with the chest marking is a sun bear, and the one tonight is a black bear, but the first growth throws me off a little. I can't really tell for sure if it's a kodiak, a grizzly, or maybe a completely different species that I don't recognize.

Is the bear tonight blue? O.o or is it supposed to be black?

Interestingly enough, black bears are not always black, and one subspecies of black bear, the "glacier bear", has a blue-gray color morph!

However they do look a little more silvery than tonight's pup, so it might just be a style choice c:

Aw they’re so precious! Look like they’re missing the brown snout though. I wasn’t sure if I was seeing the color right, I mix up greys&blued, and greens&yellows. xD Tonights cub looks royal blue to me. But I like that its different. I like the first one a lot, but its way too similar to the ‘17 staff bear’s second stage for me.


If we get a polar bear I’ll die.

But if we get a panda I’m not going to be happy xD well actually we can’t have enough bears


Technically we have had some polar bears but I’d lowkey like a metallic dragon polar bear.

BEARS: Are these half-breed bears? Like the sunbear is too light, but it might be a sunbear mixed with a European Brown? And the GRizzly looks like a Pizzly (or Grolar) Bear - the half Polar, Half Grizzly. And now we have a blackbear morph, or possibly the black version of the Pizzly?

I think they're more like a stylized version of real bears than they are true interpretations of real bears. Like the things that make each species unique is slightly exaggerated? Grizzlies tend to have slightly two-toned fur, with the back being lighter than the belly, so maybe that pup has a stronger disparity between the colors just as a way to make it further stand out as a grizzly. Sun bears can actually be a very deep brown, so maybe that pup is a lighter brown to make it stand out as well? And black bears do sort of have a blueish hue to their fur in certain lighting (sort of like raven feathers), so I think making it more obvious makes that pup stand out like the others.

Tonight's chicken is super beautiful! I love the texture.
