Personally I feel my only qualms were very well wrapped up in the video Mother's Basement made about GF. mainly so that some things were rushed and I wish some antagonists like Gideon had better redemption arcs, and also that Mabel hadn't gotten away with,,,, so,,, much,,,, over Dipper so often. All for guys who never lasted, he had to give up his part time job, time travelling, etc and it irked me a bit
I have no idea what you mean about time traveling, or someone's part time job, but about Mabel, me as well as a lot of other people hate the misconsception that she acted like a selfish brat.
I couldn't find the exact post, but I saw someone posted something once that sounded something like this:
"What everyone thinks happened in Weirdmageddeon: Escape to Reality- Dipper: Let's leave
Mabel: Not until you stay with me!
Dipper: Okay, I'll give up all my dreams for you.
Mabel: Okay! Let's go!
What really happened- Dipper: Let's leave
Mabel: No, reality's being horrible to me and I don't want to go on without you
Dipper: Reality isn't so bad whdn we're there for each other. In fact, I don't think I'm ready to be Grunkle Ford's appretince yet- I don't want to go on without you either
Mabel: You're right"
That's just from memory but you get the idea
Might I add, straight from the episode,
"Dipper, I appreciate what you said back there, but if you want to take Fprd's apprenticship I won't stop you."
"And miss out on your awkward teenage years? No way!"
The important thing to realize here is that Dipper is making his own choice to do exactly what he wants to do.
The only thing that bothers me is that I do agree with everything Ford had said to Dipper- about being special, about developing your talents instead of learning the same things as everyone else, about being made for something more and never letting anyone hold you back. I agree with all of those things, but I also know how much Dipper and Mabel need each other, and that one of the biggest morals here is that you don't have to grow up so fast. But you don't have to stay in the past either.
About all of the other things, Mabel's asked Dipper to give up things a few times for her, but she's never forced him to, and certainly hasn't acted bratty about it.
Besides, not only dod they address it well in Sock Opera, but Mabel giving up her sock puppet show is a bigger deal than those other things Dipper gave up for her, if my memory serves me correctly. It wasn't just about the boy, she put a lot of work into it. So, they're even.
I agree that I wold've like Gideon's arc to be more fleshed out.
I also would have liked them to go into more detail on screen about Bill, so I could stop calling the 'theroy' I described above a theroy.
Also, it's be cool to go into more detail about the complex multiverse that's in existance but not explained much outsode of hints. It seems like a really cool place.
