Ever since Jasperclaw was young he had always felt as if he was better than anyone else, this feeling only increased once he gained such a strong power. He was left bitter when his father left the clan for a loner especially because his mother died at birth, this evolved into his pessimistic outlook on life. His introverted nature drew him into fighting and hunting, which he became quite talented at. This made him believe a cat didn't need a power to be strong.
