That'd be a scarlet, not a red tanager^^ Red tanagers don't have such notable black on their wings, they're mostly one colour all over.

Tricky to guess! Scarlet or summer tanager sound like good guesses IMO. Crimson-backed tanager is another possibility.
I guess we'll see when it grows up. Though I would assume scarlet as it's the most well-known out of them?

i didn't even think of that possibility :^0 the whitish lower break and the matching red & black coloration give me a feeling that a crimson-back might be the right one! but like you said, we'll just have to wait til they're grown :>

(i have no doubts that i'll end up hoarding the entire litter but i'm trying to hold myself back until then, haha ^^)

am i the only one that still have only newborns for these guys? i just wanna make sure i haven't missed any.. they are taking a while to grow XD. asking because im really curious about these guys as they resemble bears? not sure if im the only one that thinks that
