Jazz sat down. He scrunched up as tight as he could, trying not to disturb the girl. So this announcement was about a dance. Jazz probably wouldn't go. He liked dances, so he could interact with friends and have a good time, but he didn't have any friends here. Plus he would also need someone to dance with. He was sure everyone else in here felt and thought the same way..about having someone to dance with that it. Not having friends. Jazz glanced at the girl he was sitting beside. He decided not to bother her with him introduction. He spotted the boy from first period. He hadn't been talking to him long so it wasn't a shot while asking him to dance. Jazz leaned back and decided not to listen for the rest of the announcement. Maybe he would hide in the washrooms until the dance was over.

Olin thought of something good to say, seeing this was the most awkward conversation he think hes ever been in. "Yeah! but so far its been over 15 minutes and not a thing has happened yet." He said the sentence slowly. Of course he didnt know how long they had been sitting there, but it felt like years. And it probably did for this other kid too. "Um, no you dont need to! Whats your name, anyway??" He said, trying to start up a nice conversation. He knew his voice cracked at the last word, but he ignored it anyway.

Kal pulls her legs up to her chest to let the boy through, and lowered them when he took a seat. Even though it's been a few seconds, she's already gone past the point of nervousness and is starting to sweat a bit. Although she is aware he means no harm or anything of the such, Kal feels incredibly uncomfortable. This causes her to miss a pencil stroke on the hair of her drawing. She cusses under her breath and fumbles for the eraser. After fixing the mistake, she goes back to her "nervous drawing".

"Yeah, it's taking forever," Devin replied. When the other boy continued talking to him and didn't ignore him, Devin was surprised. Especially since he felt like he was just annoying the poor guy. "My name's Devin. And yours?" he asked. Devin introduced himself so often that it became like an instinct. "Also, have you heard this assembly might be about a dance?" It was still kind of awkward trying to make conversation, but Devin was having less trouble than before at least.

"Right." He said, biting his lip. He looked at him when he said 'Devin', he didnt think he would give a real name. "Aw neat! I like yours. I'm Olin. Olin coleman! Pleasure to meet you." He took out his hand so he could shake it, only realizing he was infront of him, so he quickly put his hand down. He always did that when he introduced himself, so it wasnt the first time it had happened.

"...Maybe." Ezra said, keeping his tone mysterious. He was just a little too nervous to confirm it himself - besides, he thought, he was certain that Nathan would be more interested in someone else. Someone who would be able to actually dance or be able to have fun with. Not that he minded too much, though... probably. "Should I ask who?" Ezra asked, curiously, and then he laughed again. "Well... I wouldn't say that you're cool..." he teased, raising an eyebrow and smiling innocently.

"Nice to meet you, too," Devin responded. "And Olin, huh? That's a cool name." He'd never heard of the name Olin before. It was unique. Devin noticed the other boy tried to give him a handshake. It didn't exactly work with the way they were sitting, and Devin felt the corners of his mouth turn up slightly. "Well, I think the assembly might be starting soon, hopefully," he said. The other boy hadn't responded to his question about the assembly, but Devin decided not to mention it.

Olin had realized he hadnt answered his question. He didnt feel comfortable talking about the dance, knowing no one would go with him anyway. He took the compliment about his name as a shake of his head. He knew it was a cool name, and he liked being told that. "Oh! Uhm, sorry I didnt answer your uh, question. I actually... dont know." He said, shyly. "It better end though. This is taking up my whole day so far. My, whole school day I mean."

Nathan hesitated for a moment, wondering if it was really worth revealing. Besides, he didn’t know if Ezra had taken in an interest in him. After some moments of thinking, he might as well tell him a little. ”Sure. I’ll just give you a slight hint. First off, I just started hanging out with him. He’s pretty cool. Also, I’m talking to him.” he said in reply, blushing slightly. He then laughed. ”I am cool.”

"Nah, don't worry about it. I don't mind," he answered, assuming the other guy wouldn't wanna dwell on it. Devin smiled a bit at the boy's next words. "Yeah, it's definitely wasting time. But still, I think it's way better than being in class." For Devin, there was barely a difference. In class, he didn't really pay attention and tuned the one talking out. For assemblies, it was the same.
