He nodded in agreement and instantly turned his eyes to Marblepaw. He watched her with wide curious eyes. Almost like a kit seeing for the first time. The trees swayed together in the breeze, the clunking of the wood smashing together was weirdly calming. He sat down and tucked his tail between his paws.

Rowanflame shook his head in response to Bayclaw’s question, “He will come back. I just hope he doesn’t do something stupid.” The ginger tom sat down, ready to wait for Crowstrike until the sun went down. He knew his friend could take care of himself, especially since he was raised as a loner, but he also had a knack for attracting trouble and that didn’t always end so well.

Crowstrike stalked through grasses and past bushes, keeping his body low and all his senses alert. The forest was buzzing with life all around him, but there weren’t any cats to be seen, even though their scent trails were definitely stronger there. After padding forward a few more tree-lengths, he finally heard the sound of pawsteps. Crowstrike stopped moving and lifted his head slightly so he could see the stranger from his hiding place among some patches of herbs. But he certainly didn’t expect to see a beautiful she-cat headed his way. For a heartbeat he completely forgot about his mission and all he wanted to do was go and talk to her. Shaking his head slightly, the black-furred tom focused on his task, making sure to stay downwind of the cat so that she would stay oblivious to him.

Echosong

Echosong stirred, waking up from a peaceful, dreamless sleep. The sounds of camp reached her even in the back of the warrior's den and she knew it was about time to get up and get some work done. She stretched her muscles and shook out her fur before cleaning it thoroughly to get out any remaining pieces of moss that had gotten stuck in her pelt while she slept. When she was all done, Echosong padded out of the den and looked around. She spotted Hawkeye sitting not far away from the fresh-kill pile and decided to go talk to him. Walking over, she said with a smile, "Good morning."

Thistletuft perched on a branch lazily, his hind leg and tail dangling in the air as he gazed below. From his vantage point he could clearly see the camp entrance and the chocolate colored tom watched with a disinterested look as cats entered and left the camp.

Sandcloud padded out of the den, stretching in the sun. She then shook out her cream pelt and smoothed it back down with a few quick licks. All done, the warrior looked around herself for something to do or someone to talk to.

Wolfheart crept through the undergrowth, his steps silent despite the many crunchy leaves and small sticks underfoot. He kept his gaze pinned solely on his prey, a plump squirrel he was stalking. The creature was sitting at the roots of a tree, contently chewing on a nut of some sort. When he was close enough, Wolfheart leapt forward, landing squarely on the fluffy creature. Pinning it with his claws he killed it with a swift bite to the neck.

She watched her kits as they was focusing the moves Ivypaw showed them. She scretched her legs, before stood up and walked out of the nursery breathing the fresh air. Embergaze didn't know a lot about love, every time she thought she did she got it wrong. But what she assumed was that most mates were just good friends. That seemed to be the nature of the clan at least to her.

Though he'd really changed as he got older and more confident.

She hummed softly as she picked a few borage leaves "This could be useful for Deerhorn and Snowpetal." she murmured to herself. She made a small pile of herbs she was gathering and moved away from it. Heading over to the patch of herbs Crowstrike was in. Lost in her own little world and not noticing him because of his dark fur she didn't notice him until she was right up in front of him and had picked another patch of leaves, dropped it, and jumped back with a small screech.

But he couldn’t escape, not when she was close enough that the smallest rustle of grass could alert her. So he stayed put, hoping she wouldn’t notice him. But then she headed straight for the herbs he was in and within moments his cover was blown. She jumped back startled and Crowstrike quickly stood up, “I won’t hurt you.” He said hurriedly, keeping his voice down. The last thing he needed was for her to call the rest of the cats, whoever they were.

“Definitely someone older than you or myself.” Lightpaw replied, still curious as to who would be the deputy.

Rowanflame nodded gravely, "Well, now we can just wait and see." If he was being honest, the uncertainty was gnawing at him too. He was a mouse-length away from going after Crowstrike. But if there ever was a time to trust his friend to not mess things up, it was now.

"I honestly didn't expect you to find me. I apologize for scaring you." Crowstrike meowed, sitting down beside the patch of herbs and wrapping his tail around his paws to seem less threatening. How was he ever going to explain what he had been doing there without looking like a creep? He looked at her apologetically, but soon found himself captivated by the way her pelt gleamed in the sunlight like quicksilver and the way her eyes sparkled. Blinking, Crowstrike brought himself back to reality. This was not the time to get distracted by a beautiful she-cat.

Echosong stirred, waking up from a peaceful, dreamless sleep. The sounds of camp reached her even in the back of the warrior's den and she knew it was about time to get up and get some work done. She stretched her muscles and shook out her fur before cleaning it thoroughly to get out any remaining pieces of moss that had gotten stuck in her pelt while she slept. When she was all done, Echosong padded out of the den and looked around. She spotted Hawkeye sitting not far away from the fresh-kill pile and decided to go talk to him. Walking over, she said with a smile, "Good morning."

Thistletuft perched on a branch lazily, his hind leg and tail dangling in the air as he gazed below. From his vantage point he could clearly see the camp entrance and the chocolate colored tom watched with a disinterested look as cats entered and left the camp.

Sandcloud padded out of the den, stretching in the sun. She then shook out her cream pelt and smoothed it back down with a few quick licks. All done, the warrior looked around herself for something to do or someone to talk to.

Wolfheart

Wolfheart crept through the undergrowth, his steps silent despite the many crunchy leaves and small sticks underfoot. He kept his gaze pinned solely on his prey, a plump squirrel he was stalking. The creature was sitting at the roots of a tree, contently chewing on a nut of some sort. When he was close enough, Wolfheart leapt forward, landing squarely on the fluffy creature. Pinning it with his claws he killed it with a swift bite to the neck.
