Gingerpaw is lucky, he is built to be a warrior, but i'm a pathetic excuse for a she-cat, i will never be a warrior! Acornheart's eyes flickered in approval as she saw the tom catch something due to her mistake. She flicked her tail, indicating for Archhallow to come over.

"There's fish near the edge! What do fish eat?!" She whispered almost childishly urgently, set on catching one now, unsure how good their hearing was however as she had no experience with this type of prey.

Ashfrost's ears flickered, confused. "After what happened?" He repeated unsure with what his mate was referring to, he didn't press however.

"I choose you over patrol because for a start I don't want you endangered near that... mange," His tone got a bit irritated at just the thought of the loner, it quickly faded back to gentle as he continued talking however, "-and we've barely spent any time together since we were assigned. Also you shouldn't say such things about yourself, you're a good clanmate, and of course you matter. Tell me who says otherwise and I'll cuff them on the ear." He added playfully, trying to ease the mood. He didn't usually act this way around his clanmates, and though the prospect of a mate hadn't been his most favorable thought he saw no reason not to at least get close or become friends with the she-cat.

He noticed his apprentice Sorrelpaw stepping out of her den and flicked his tail for her to come over. Sleeping in so late! He was tempted to pawn her off to the elders to crack fleas or find moss for the nursery.

Elmwind flicked his tail. “Ok. Whatever you say.” He meowed plainly. He looked in the distance, seeing Sorrelpaw finally rising. He sighed and tuned out the cat’s. He drifted off to his own little world.

She shook her head then grimaced at the wound. “You should clean that.” She meowed in worry. It was in an awkward spot on his shoulder. “Do you mind if I do?”

Her ears flattened against her head as she sulked over to her mentor. She swallowed and clenched her jaw, ready for the lecture. She made sure to keep her mouth shut as talking back would only make things worse.

Ashfrost diverted his attention briefly from the queen and turned to Sorrelpaw, huffing. He could see she already looked guilty enough, and perhaps it was a mixture of blowing off steam before and the pressence of his mate that made him reconsider giving Sorrelpaw an earful. He grumbled before finally deciding some things can't be helped, still though, a tardy apprentice wasn't exactly the mark of a warrior...

"Sorrelpaw, up and early huh?" He commented dryly after a moment of consideration, "The warrior patrols have already gone out I believe. Since sleeping is clearly more important than training and I'm busy right now we can kill two birds with one claw and go out training tonight instead." He added, deciding to combine a punishment and lesson in one.

"A warrior needs to be able to navigate their territory at night after all, you never know when an enemy could strike." He stated, ears twitching at the thought of the dog and Leap. "Until then go make yourself useful and see if anyone in the nursery or warriors den needs clean moss." He instructed, his treatment of the apprentice chilly but fair in his books.

Once he had instructed the paw' his head swerved around back to Riverpool.

Elmwind blinked. He wished his mate was here. They normally had good conversations. He shrugged and watches as Sorrelpaw went over to the nursery.

“Yes, Ashfrost.” She murmured, somewhat surprised. Normally she would’ve felt as If claws were raked down her heart. She shrugged and decided she wouldn’t complain. She trotted over to the nursery and stuck her head in. “Hello!” She called gently “Any fresh moss orders?”

Tail lashing the torthoiseshell tom walked to the stream and used it's cold water to wash his bleeding cheek. Of course this was very risky, when the dog was just chased away and if the scent of blood got to it's nose the dog could go back. That's why he got furted to the camp, if the dog could come back, he could be first to face it and likelly first to die too.

She followed the older she-cat, staying behing when she run to chase after a squirrel. Her head shifting left and right as she watched the very talenting hunting show, so focusing that she didn't even notice when she got the squirrel down. She looked toward the squirrel who almost run away from her, but her instincts got grazy on her and she jumped to the long tailed animal, before it escaped to the second tree, killing it quickly.

Quietstar purred lightly when he licked her ear and laid her tail over his in a small show of affection. "To be honest Eaglefrost." she said glancing at him. "I don't believe he brought the dog here intentionally." her voice was soft again no longer loud and commanding. "I don't think he's.. conniving enough for that. And if he was I don't believe he'd let himself be caught by the dog as badly as he had. I think it was blind panic." she said as her gaze moved to look over Leap again. "He's young. He would have just gotten his name if he was one of us. If anything he got hurt and excited I don't think he meant any harm. Ashfrost didn't either he was just being protective. All he saw was a cat coming into camp with a dog and putting his clanmates in danger." she said. "So though he may have overreacted it was just because he was trying do what was best for the clan. I can understand that. His mate is one of the queens. The nursery is the most vulnerable part of the entire camp." she said. Though she was certain Ashfrost hadn't been completely upfront with her she did not think ill of him for it. Nor did she think ill of the loner she was more intrigued about how he'd gotten so close to them. Had he been in their territory before and they just hadn't noticed?

Hawktalon nodded "That sounds like a plan." he said as he rose to his paws. Glancing around he flicked his tail "Everyone seems a little busy now with patrols and such.. So perhaps we should just go alone for right now." he said before he turned and headed to the camp entrance. "We'll go to the training grounds and work on some moves and once you've got them we can try them against another apprentice soon." he said. He wasn't worried about the dog, with the hunting party and the two patrols going out. After his brother and the leader's mate had chased it out? He felt there was nothing more to worry about.

Reedgaze glanced away nervously, oh she was so bad at talking about her feelings. She looked at him again and nodded "Of course I do, Russetfox." she said softly. "We've been stuck together like glue since we were apprentices. There was never going to be anyone other than you." she said nudging him again. She purred lightly her own heart pounding in her chest from nervousness. She tried to ignore it and stay calm but it was hard to not get excited and nervous over all of this.

Giving her ear a quick lick he backed off before he nodded. "Of course.. Those are beautiful names." he said looking down at the other three kits. "I'll be back soon.. Do you want me to bring you anything to eat?" he asked before he moved closer to Ravenkit. Hesitating before he picked him up, heartbroken that he would not get to stay with his family. But he tried to stay strong, this was worse for Nightleaf he was sure. And he didn't want to add any stress to her, especially with how much she already had.

☞EAGLEFROST listened carefully to his mate, nodding slowly as he registered the softening in her voice. Though he was typically one to lean towards Ashfrot's methods, he did have to recognize and appreciate the way in which Quietstar considered and weighed things to discover the truth, always giving a cat the benefit of the doubt. It was almost... optimistic. Letting her finish, the flaming tom tore his gaze away from the young, small cat in front of them and turned to face his leader, pale green eyes soft. "That makes the most sense. This tom doesn't really fit the part of a tactical mastermind." The broad warrior agreed, chuckling a bit as he tried to help lighten the mood and make their little companion feel safe. "However, it will take myself as well as the rest of the clan some time to recover and accept him after bringing such a large threat into our home. Many of the warriors may find a reason to object to him becoming one of us, should that be something he'd like to consider, or that you'd be willing to offer him." Eaglefrost reminded his mate gently, speaking to her as any warrior would to a leader seeking advice. The large tom glanced between the two cats, feeling as though he'd gotten his concerns across in the gentlest way known to him.

☞WRENTALON looked on, her body tense and her breath held as the squirrel went scampering towards Mintslash and the she-cat almost missed it. When she watched the other hunter quickly recover, she was finally able to relax, letting out a long, quiet puff of air. The pretty calico walked back towards the she-cat, nodding approvingly. Offering her a smile, she glanced down at the decently sized fresh-kill, picking it up gently between her jaws, its fresh scent overwhelming her and making her mouth water. Quickly digging a shallow hole, the lithe she-cat deposited the prey before turning back to Mintslash, prepared to continue their hunting expedition. "We have to remain as quiet as possible. As it's newleaf, many creatures are beginning to emerge, but that doesn't mean they'll be any easier to catch. Keep yourself low and to the foliage or the shadows." Wrentalon murmured, keeping her voice as soft as she could before turning to face the forest once more. Jaws parted, the various scents of her world bathed her tongue and the hunter relished in it, body tingling with excitement. A small squeak caught her attention about five fox-lengths to the left, ears twitching madly. The fluffy she-cat immediately dropped to the ground, sliding through the underbrush, making sure to stay with the wind. Emerging from the new growth, she spotted the mouse practically right under her and with one sift snatch of the paw, a second piece of prey had been caught.

Surprised yet again by the gentle, playful approach of this usually touchy cat, Riverpool smiled. Maybe if nothing else, she could grow to like this tom as a friend; they were quite similar, in fact - both somewhat temperamental and hotheaded, but able to control it and kind to the cats they cared for. As Ashfrost lectured his apprentice, Riverpool noticed he went a bit easier on her. Interesting - maybe we can help each other handle things less impulsively. Her mate turned back to her and she gave him a friendly flick of her tail. “You handle her well; a good lesson and an interesting new training session in one is really smart!”
