disclaimer: i did not come up with the original idea for this game. kaden is attributed to originally creating it while katrione currently owns the first create a __ game, create a clan. please consult katrione if you wish to create a game like this.


    it has been many years since these lands have been populated by magical beings. it is time once again for covens to be made. only the best covens will thrive - will yours be one of them? will your coven be the one to show others the way? or will your coven be doomed to fail, like all of those before them? can you make the largest, strongest coven to ever exist?

HOW TO PLAY
    Starting Off. If it is your first time posting, you must tell me about your coven. You can describe things like your coven's name, nature, reputation, territory, what species it is made up of primarily (i.e., if your coven is just witches or just faeries. if you do not specify, you will received a random assortment of species as your coven advances), and the personalities of the members. These things help us decide on what your first coven leader will look like! We will quote your post with a picture of your first coven leader. You can decide on things like the leader's name, age and gender.

    Getting More Members Your coven will start off small and you will have to build up its population. You have two options for finding coven members: patrols and your leader performing a ritual. You are only able to perform a ritual once per week, and your leader can ask the Coven of the Stars for a new coven member; you can ask for a specific rank, or we will give you one at random. You will be able to pick their name, gender and age as well.

    Patrols. You are able to send up to 6 coven members out on a patrol at one time. In one post, you are only able to send out two hunting/gathering patrols and two border patrols. There are only a few things that can happen on patrols: you can find prey, which will keep your coven safe from any attacks for 12 hours; you can chase off a threat, which will also keep your coven safe for 12 hours; you can find a new member at the border (however the further along your coven gets the less likely this is to happen), you will usually only find warriors and apprentices but you will sometimes find children at the border if you have mothers available; and you can find a leader of a rival coven that will ask for an alliance that you can accept, ignore or even decide on becoming enemies.

    New Ranks. Whenever you have a coven member old enough to move onto the next rank (10 years-child to apprentice, 16 years- apprentice to mage/gatherer/scout/tamer), you can make your leader perform a ritual to announce to the Coven of the Stars that a member is advancing. You must also do this when promoting a member to second-in-command, or retiring a member to become an elder.

    Healing/Herbs. When you find your shaman, you will have the option to choose 5 herbs to start off your medicinal storage. When you send your shaman out to find herbs, you can only find 2 every patrol the shaman takes to find herbs. Once your shaman gets an apprentice, you will be able to find 3 on one patrol. You store your herbs in the medicine store and they can be used to heal sick or injured members.

    Mentors/Training. You will be the one to assign a certain mentor to a certain apprentice. Before your apprentice is allowed to advance, they must complete 5 training sessions and they must be at least 16 years old. Your apprentice learns a new 'move' during each training session.

    Aging/Death. You must age your members up 1 year for every post. If in one post, you had an apprentice who was 10 years, then in the next post that apprentice would be 11 years. In this game, there are 5 possible ways for your members to die; being born stillborn, old age, being attacked severely by a dangerous animal/another coven, mothers can die during childbirth, and by not having injuries treated within 2 posts of them getting injured and/or sick.

    Alliances. If you meet a neighboring coven while on patrol, you can choose to become their ally. Ally covens usually act friendly towards each other and resolve disputes without fighting. You can give herbs to an ally coven if they don't have the herb they need and you do, but only if they are in desperate need of one. You can also trade members with an ally coven, but this can only happen at gatherings. If your coven is under attack by an enemy coven, your ally coven can join the fight and defend you as long as the enemy coven isn't their ally. If your ally defends you in an attack, you have a much less chance of your members dying or being captured.
    If you meet a neighboring coven while on patrol, you can choose to become their enemy or rival. Enemy covens usually act hostile towards each other and often argue and fight. You can steal kits, apprentices, elders and herbs while raiding an enemy coven's camp. You need 4 members to do this and the only way the coven can get these back is if they attack the coven. Attacks can be fatal and there will often be members injured, captured, or even killed during attacks. You can make peace and become allies with an enemy coven during a gathering.

    Gatherings.

    Relationships/Having Children. Without children, your coven would struggle to thrive. To have two members to get married/develop a relationship, post them going for a walk together and one of them asking the other to marry them/be with them. In my post, I will time skip to the woman finding out that she's expecting children, then you will have to wait two posts before she gives birth. If you wish for the woman to not have her children yet, make sure to tell me. If you want a couple to have another child/children, please specify in your post.

    Forbidden Romances. Forbidden romances are romantic relationships with either a shaman, or a member of another coven. Members can form romances with other people from both ally and enemy covens and can sneak out of camp to meet them and bond at gatherings. However, if the relationship results in children, they will have to find someone willing enough to cover up as their father. It can be arranged at a gathering for one or more of the children to be given to the parent of the other coven. It is extremely rare, but some covens may find out that the children are forbidden and the parent(s) and/or children could be exiled from the coven.

    Prey. Your first three posts are your coven's fasting days. This is when they don’t have to eat and you have the chance to start gathering and/or hunting for your coven. After the third post you will have to provide the correct amount of food for your coven or one coven member will die per post. Once per week, your coven leader can perform a charm on the crops, and your coven will receive double the normal amount of food on your next post.
    You must specify which ten pieces of food that your coven eats.

    Seasons. Each season will last two weeks, with each season having one gathering. After the gathering ends, a new season will start, going in order from Winter to Fall. When your mod replies to your post, the mod will write what type of weather your coven has for that day, which will ultimately affect how things go for you that day.
      Winter.- The Season of Winter. The changes of your coven members getting sick is high. If you send the same member out multiple times in the same post, they are more likely to catch a cold, which will lead to a more serious ailment, possibly causing death.The sun will start to go down early and it will get colder once the sun starts to go down. You will catch less prey and gather less food. You are less likely to find more coven members.
      Spring.- The Season of Spring. During Spring, births will run much smoother and the chances of the mother or children dying during birth will go down dramatically. There is also a higher chance of finding more food than usual. The chances of catching any sickness will lower. With all the snow melting, it is very likely that your territory will start flooding. There will also be more storms that will contribute to the flooding. The odds of finding new members is very high.
      Summer.- The Season of Summer. During Summer, you will find a max of 6 pieces of food. During patrols, you are more likely to run into predators such as hostile dragons and chimeras. Rogue groups of witches will most likely start to try and settle on your territory so keep an eye out. You are still likely to get floods, but there will be more droughts towards the middle of Summer. Your coven will still receive new members but not as much as you would in Spring.
      Fall.- The Season of Fall. During Fall, it will start to get colder so the amount of food you find will go down. The sun will start going down earlier and earlier and this will continue into Winter. Birthings will start to get a little bit harder so make sure to stock up on birthing herbs like fennel, chervil, ragwort leaves and raspberry leaves. You will also run into predators, such as chimera and other hostile beings.

    Ranks.
    Coven Leader: the leader of the coven. makes all big decisions, performs rituals, casts charms on crops. Welcomes new members, exiles members when needed.
    Second-In-Command: the leader-to-be. will take over when the coven leader dies. consults with the coven leader, is of high authority. controls when patrols are sent out and who participates in them.
    Shaman: the coven's healer. keeps everyone healthy.
    Mages: perform magic. used in battles. keep everything orderly. deal with predators and enemy covens. patrol the borders - double as scouts.
    Gatherers: composed of both hunters and those who tend to the crops. they are the providers of the coven. without them, the coven would likely starve.
    Tamers: usually people with an affinity for animals, they tend to any animal companions that the coven may have. they can patrol the borders to search for new animals.
    Apprentices: young people of at least 10 years of age. they are in training to become a mage, gatherer, tamer, or, in some cases, a shaman. there can only be one shaman's apprentice. the apprentice gets to choose which rank they wish to study - if they decide at any point that they wish to study a different field, they must start over completely with their training.
    Mothers: They are the ones that bring new life to the coven. They can have one child (common) two children (uncommon) three children (rare) four children (very rare). A mother can try for another child when their child(ren) turn five years of age though this can cause complications.
    The Young: Children from 0-10 years of age.
    Elders: The wise people of the village, or so they like to think. Their experience is taken into consideration and they often converse with the coven's leader. Ages 75+

    Species. Your coven can have many different species - from mermaids to nymphs, the coven can choose to accept magical beings of any species or they can choose to only allow a certain species. pm me if you have any ideas that you think should be added to this list !
    Witches/Wizards , Mermaids/Mermen ( Must be a body of water nearby ) , Centaurs , Elves , Satyrs , Nymphs , Fae , Werewolves , Vampires , Sirens , Sahuagin , Angels , Demons , Banshees , Selkies , Genies

    Companions. Your coven can have magical animals that are considered companions. Most of them have a special skill-set, and if sent on patrols they may bring back items, new members, or even other companions. pm me if you have any ideas that you think should be added to this list !
    Pegasi: Flying horses. Can sometimes find other members for the coven. Friendly, though hard to locate as they tend to live in high places.
    Unicorns: Single-horned horses. Can sometimes find other companions. Friendly and easy to tame, as they enjoy companionship.
    Dragons: Flying reptilian creatures that can sometimes breathe fire. Excellent at finding shiny objects, can sometimes find other companions or members for the coven. Hostile and hard to tame.
    Hippocampi: Creatures with the upper body of a horse and the lower body of a fish. Must be a body of water nearby. Excellent at hunting in water and finding other water companions/members for the coven. Skittish and hard to tame.
    Griffins: Creatures with the body, tail, and back legs of a lion, the head and wings of an eagle, and an eagle's talons as its front feet. Can oftentimes find other companions and members for the coven. Are excellent hunters. Hostile and hard to tame.
    Kelpies: A finned swamp horse that lives in water, not to be confused with Hippocampi. Much more hostile and harder to tame. Excellent hunters.
    Phoenixes: Fiery birds that live in dry areas. Intensely loyal. Rare creatures and take a while to bond. Excellent hunters, can oftentimes locate new members for the coven and other companions.
    Jackalopes: Horned rabbits. Seen as a beginner pet, are common and easy to tame, though their horns can hurt if irritated. Can occasionally find an herb or a vegetable to be used for the coven as food.
    Kistunes: Nine-tailed foxes. Flighty, uncommon creatures. Hard to find, even harder to tame - tricky and willing to steal. Good hunters.
    Black Shuck: Massive, black or green-eyed shadowy dogs. Vicious, rare, and hard to tame. Are excellent ground hunters and have amazing hearing and sense of smell - can easily find new members for the coven.
    Cerberus: Three headed dog that guards the underworld. Easier to tame while they are in their two headed puppy stage, and much more hostile and difficult to tame as a three headed adult. Come in different varieties resembling normal dog breeds. Can often find new coven members, new companions, and prey.
    Chimera: Powerful creature with the heads of a lion and a goat, front body of a lion, back body of a goat, and snake for a tail. Occasionally has dragon wings. Extremely hostile and difficult to tame. Can often find new coven members.
    Ahuizotl: Strange aquatic dog like creature with a human hand on its tail. Extremely dangerous, hostile, and difficult to tame. Must be a body of water nearby. Can often find other water-dwelling companions, coven members, or prey.

The Seven Sins Coven is an accepting coven, rarely turning away anyone who wishes to join.
This coven has made their home in a large mansion nestled in the woods, far from most civilization.
They preform most of their rituals in the mansion's garden. Here they grow and raise their own food,
always thanking their ancestors before eating. Near by is the stables where their companions are kept.
Lastly one of the other features of the coven's territory is the lake.

🌸 Sacred Lotus Coven🌸

The Coven of the Sacred Lotus is a peaceful elven, Nymph and fae village gathered around a large lake filled with lotuses, each one said to have sacred healing abilities and to be a spirit of a deceased fae. The waters are pure, and legend has it those pure of heart can be walked on, but those who are cruel will be dragged down under the lake never to see the light of day. The forest surrounding is like the walls, and the large clearing is called the Glade of Spirits. An island is in the middle of the Sacred Lake, home to the Council Hut, a home of healing as the Shaman lives in a separate room with her patients. Tribe meetings where the fairies, nymphs and elves gather in peace; the council hut has been formed around a tree and a stairway along the trunk leads to the coven leader's home. The Fairies live around the lake in small woven huts, and on the four sides of the lake (as if it were a clock) there is the food store, Mother's houses in a cluster, the tamers den, and the Second-In-Command's den. The elves have settled in the trees of the forests surrounding, a deep forest said to have multiple paths that always change. In the forest Tamers and Apprentices live. Companions roam the forest freely, but before that they are kept in a stable until they are tame enough. Smaller companions usually live with their most suited person.

The shaman is always a nymph, as are the tamers, but the tamer can rarely be a fae. Apprentices can be anything. The mage is always a witch, and is the only witch in the entire Coven. Gatherers are usually Nymphs and Elves, however it is not unheard of to be a fairy gatherer, and Nymphs harvest crops and Elves hunt. Scouts are always fairies or elves. The leader can be anything, as can Second-In-Command, Elders, Mothers, and The Young.

weather: it is spring! during spring, births will run much smoother and the chances of the mother or children dying during birth will go down dramatically. there is also a higher chance of finding more food than usual. the odds of catching any sickness will lower. with all the snow melting, it is very likely that your territory will start flooding. there will also be more storms that will contribute to the flooding. finding new members is likely.

The Glade fresh in the morning dew shone like an emerald. The winds were whistling with ancient tales and each lotus above the lake's waters were finally open. One elf was trekking through the forest eagerly, listening out for anything unusual as he went on his daily adventure to uncover new paths. The trees were thinning out at last, and as he blinked shining light reflected from the lake. A new home for the elven coven, he thought. A haven for fresh hunting. As the elf walked into the glade the wind was whispering with promises of ancient stories, and for the first time since his old coven had been forced to leave he felt at home. The lotuses were a sight to behold, fresh and young as they basked in the morning sunlight. This place holds the key to safety. the elf continued thinking, stopping at the edge of the lake where an old boat floated, pointing in the direction of an unseen island where an old tree spread, it's branches long and mystical.

Pausing, the elf mused as he held the oars of the boat. "Finally somewhere I can rest." Cedric breathed a sigh of relief as the harsh brambles and hissing Griffin's left his mind. Awkwardly he held the oars. Rowing was not a thing they did often in the old coven. Rowing in circles was his only skill on the water's surface, but he had to give it a shot.

this coven has a reputation for being dark and manipulative, known for black magic and human sacrifices. this all
-women's coven's main populace consists of witches, vampires, blood elves, mountain nymphs (oreads), mermaid
s, kelpies and dark fairies (unseelies). the witches are known for their lethal hexes. the vampires kill mortals for b
oth fun and necessity. the blood elves practice blood magic, and act as the main mages and gatherers. the oreads
are relied on heavily for their knack of taming companions and tending to food. the mermaids are known for lurin
g unknowing sailors into shallow waters, with the help of their kelpies. the unseelies are known to torment border
ing covens, whether provoked or not.
the members are the most elite of their kind, as the head witch is very particular with who she allows in her coven.
from the years spent underground, their skin often has a grey undertone, and dark hair is common, but not assur
ed. as the coven is only women, when two members choose to have children, a coven-wide ritual must be held to
grant pregnancy.
the main source of food comes from the forest and the river. commonly meals consist of rodents, fish, small anim
als, birds, and deer. root vegetables are also grown inside the cave; a small, dirt-filled clearing with sunlight filter
ing through a man-made opening in the rocky ceiling.

    the elder grove is a coven consisting of nearly any supernatural creature in the book. from witches to sirens, werewolves to mermaids, the only thing linking the members of the elder grove together is their docile natures. their territory consists of a large cave that is preceded by an enchanted path of flowers. the flowers are charmed so they never die, even in the harshest of winters. the cave itself is draped with glowing flowers that provide illumination throughout the cavern. natural sunlight is able to filter in, as well, through various openings in the cave's walls - openings that are charmed to protect humans from falling in and potentially injuring themselves. a section of the cave opens up into a cavern of bioluminescent water - a small arch on the far wall provides an exit to the beach just outside the cave. a staircase littered with more of the glowing foliage leads to an enchanted meadow where unicorns, pegasi, and griffins roam freely. dragons also make their home in the cave system - their dens exit from high caves onto the beach below. they are free to enter and exit as they please, and fly at their own discretion.

    the members of the coven vary in size, stature, and species, though they share a common gentle demeanor. local villages speak of dryads who lead the lost from the forest, of witches who heal the sickly, of sirens who sing to worthy sailors and, once they are close, place crowns of glowing flowers atop their hair. mermaids who frolic in the shallows are also noteworthy, as are werewolves who protect those who cannot protect themselves. they are seen as a 'soft' coven, not particularly a group to be feared.
