Wow, I don't know what to say right now. I just got a Magikarp through WT. Seems pretty boring, right? But! It has the gameboy Icon, meaning it's from Gen I or II. It has its Hidden Ability and rather nice IVs (3 best IVs, 1 fantastic and 2 pretty good). How rare is a Magikarp like this? It's Lv 5 and seemingly hasn't been trained before ovo;;

The IV thing is just part of how the transfer from the VC games to Bank works (Every Pokemon gets at least three Perfect/Best, the rest are randomly generated) and pretty much every Pokemon gets its Hidden Ability (exceptions being those that don't have hidden abilties).
So, nah, it's pretty common if someone just got their Magikarp from the salesman in RBY VC, chucked it in a box, then transferred it up (or, alternately, if they bred for it in GSC VC)
