♔Raising her head with a pin of her ears as the sounds of clipping met Rosaline's ears, the mare soon relaxed her head down, lip drooping again, allowing Juliette to once again turn her attention to the mare's hooves. She was planning on washing off the mare, but there had been an abnormal sound as the pair travelled over the concrete, and so Juliette had wanted to investigate it as soon as she could, and so here she was, hoofpick in hand in case she needed to dislodge a stray stone.
The hind leg she was working on seemed to be clear, but before she could allow the leg to drop and move to the other side of the dozing mare, a splitting whinny caused both mare and girl to jump. Rosaline raised her head with a frightened squeal, snapping her hoof down and unbalancing her human, who landed on the hard stone, knees smarting as she stood quickly to get out of the way of the mare, who was now swinging her hind end to get a better look at the horse who had whinnied.
Dusting off her knees, the initial adrenaline rush from the fright fading, Juliette turned, half-imagining the girl from the showjumping arena to be standing in front of her. To her surprise, it was someone else - another redhead, but this time with a well-built, beautifully coloured KWPN in-hand. "Gosh, sorry, I didn't hear you approaching!" Jules half-laughed, retrieving the hoof pick from where it had skittered across the floor. Looking to both girl and gelding, tugging gently at the lead-rope to prevent Rosaline from reaching too close to the gelding, she noticed that both of them were in far more need of the washrack than she and Rosa. "I hope you weren't waiting too long, we'll be out of here soon! Did you have a good session this morning?" Offering the girl a smile, she reached for the hose, running the water for a second before turning it onto the bay mare, turning her pelt a darker brown. "I'm Juliette, by the way. And this is Rosaline. She's really nosy, sorry," Once again pulling Rosa's muzzle away from the gelding, knowing full well that the mare would squeal and wiggle if she allowed them to be too close for too long, she looked to the pair. Their equipment didn't seem like either showjumping or dressage equipment, so, adding that deduction to the fact that the pair had a good workout, by the looks of things, they didn't seem to be competition of hers, not just yet, anyway, so Juliette smiled. "Were you on the cross country course?" She inquired, hoping that their conversation would mean that the girl wasn't annoyed at her for taking up a wash rack.

♗Smiling easily at the man's query, a light worry bubbling in his stomach at the thought of the man watching him ride, Ty nodded. "Yeah, that'd be nice. I haven't had the chance to explore properly yet!" Striding forward, allowing the man to get his stallion ready, Ty took a deep breath. Why did the thought of Amos seeing him ride worry him so?
He was as good a rider as anyone else here - so worrying about Amos thinking of him as a bad rider was completely irrational...
But why couldn't he help it?
Entering the indoor arena quietly, checking to ensure that it was empty, Ty let go of Cersei's reins, allowing the mare to move freely at his side. She tossed her head, trotting haughtily for a few paces. Ty, watching her out of the corner of his eye, took off at a run, his movements impeded somewhat by the sand beneath his feet. The mare began to follow him at a speedy trot, bucking a number of times before falling into stride beside him. Changing his movements into a bouncy, strange gait, Cersei copied the man, pushing herself into a collected canter.
When she had come to him, the mare had been, frankly, rotten - snappy and haughty, rude and pushy, but through goofy play like this, the man had opened her up to him. Positive reinforcement training had helped a lot, too, and now the pair were working clockwork... okay, perhaps not quite like clockwork just yet, but they were much better than they had been.
Stopping, sending a wave of sand from under his feet, the man turned to the mare, hoping to catch her to begin their training. Cersei, however, had another idea, taking off at a gallop with a kick of her hind legs, racing circles around the small pen. Standing still, not engaging her but allowing her to blow off steam, Ty waited for her to return before fishing out a mint from his pocket and catching her reins.
"Hey, we're at an academy now, Cerse, there's no more goofing off like that." He murmured, swinging himself into the comfortable saddle. The palomino mare shifted beneath him for a moment, eager to get moving. Squeezing with his legs, pushing her forward into a low, lazy trot, Ty began to settle into the saddle, relaxing into the mare's familiar movements.

♖Chewing thoughtfully on his lip, trying to track the movements of the other students in the barn, trying to see if there was a particular direction that people were moving in, a light tension bubbled in Lee's stomach. All of the horses he was laying eyes on were all slim, long-legged, sporty and lithe. From what he could see, there were no heavier horses, no other horses there to drive. Suddenly highly conscious of both Nagini and Hedwig, their dinner-plate hooves and strong muscles making them stick out like elephants among deer, the man let out a low breath. Perhaps coming here was a mistake.
Hearing tense pacing from the stall behind him, low snorts and breaths making him turn, Lee pointed his attention to Hedwig. The nervous mare was becoming even more anxious, picking up on his racing mind. As he turned to look at her, the mare stopped, looking to him with doe-eyes, as though asking him why he'd brought them here, to this strange place.
"I know, my girl, I know." He murmured, placing out a hand and allowing the mare to place her nose into his palm, her deep sigh causing her whiskers to twitch, tickling the skin on his hands and arms. He didn't hear the soft voice from behind him, didn't notice the girl who had snuck up on him until he turned away from Hedwig.
The girl who stood before him was wide-eyed, her features decorated with a smattering of freckles. Her face was bright red- she must just be back from a hard ride. A sudden fear flushed through him - was this her horse's stall? He was sure that he had checked the nameplated before leading the horses inside, but perhaps he had misread -
Her voice cut through his thoughts, and he mentally laughed at himself for being so irrational. She was just being friendly, introducing herself. Extending his hand, he offered her a warm smile. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Lee." Glancing around, still totally oblivious of his surroundings, he looked back to her. "Ehm, sorry, but I've just arrived. Do you know where the tack room is?" While he'd love to remain and get to know the people he'd be working and training with, he was also fully aware of his tack, left in the unlocked trailer outside.
