Lanie smiled, if a little tearfully. Alone, her chances had been pretty much inexsitent. Now... well, they were still pretty much inexsitent, but at least there was a chance, a tiny chance she might be able to make it....

But that would mean Jarvis would have to die. No, she couldn't be this years winner. Jarvis would stay alive until the end. And if she did, too... well, letting someone shoot you couldn't be too hard, could it? The answer came to her automatically.
Yes, yes it could. And it would be.

((I know some of my posts will be kind of short, but that's because all I really want to do in this post is say who got what training scores.))

Fálena smiled. She would be first up for the interviews. She wasn't nervous, not really. She was good at getting people to like her. Besides, she had gotten a a ten as her training score, which was pretty a good score, so that was bound to get her some people to go for her.

She waved cheerfully to the crowd as she stepped up, winking and catching people's eyes. The questions were simple to answer, and she never had to hesitate. That went well, she thought - without the slightest hint of sarcasm.

Marce was loving this. He had only gotten a nine as his training score, but that hadn't reduced his confidence in the least. Noone else actually stood any chance against him. Sure, he had disobeyed his mentor, but so what? He knew better than that annoyying halfwit...

Saylana wasn't smiling. Sure, she had a good training score. Okay, a very good training score. What did that mean, besides the fact that she would be the first to get targeted? What did she care about the impression she made on the people sending her to her death? Why would it matter to her what they thought? Who cared if she had recieved an eleven? She shouldn't have tried so hard to impress the gamemakers. Sure, she could easily shoot down a moving target, but did they really need to know that?

Andrew wasn't happy with the score he had recieved. A four? Honestly? Had he really done that badly? Okay, okay. Mabe he had tripped and made a complete mess of things at the end, but still....

Layla's score was a six. It wasn't too bad, really, considering she had spent more time wondering what was happening now back at home than trying to im[ress the gamemakers...

Lanie was starting to cheer up. Not only did she now have a ally, but she had scored an actual eleven! That'd show anyone who thought boys were better than girls. Sure, it hadn't been the best possible score, but it had been extremely close, and twelves were very rarely given...

Then Lanie remembered her new resolution, that Jarvis Painter would be the one to win the Games. An eleven didn't mean she had a better chance at surviving. It meant she had a better chance at protecting him.

Lucia had done, well, terribly. A three. No way had she been that awful...

Sánder couldn't help it. He was enjoying himself. Surely a nine was something to be proud of? It meant he stood a chance. If he could win this....

Sarayn had done exactly the same as Lucia, and she was kind of annoyed with her score.

Valie had recieved an eight.

Coal Tine hadn't done too badly. A seven was good, right? Average, but good, surely?

Victoria felt like she could fly. A ten! A ten! She couldn't possibly have hoped for anything better....

Alan was pleased with his score. An eight was good, for his district....

Salma was crying. Why had she recieved a two? She hated the gamemakers. What had she done wrong? She'd demonstrated her abilities, hadn't she? An what was worse, the scores were being shown on the television. Starla would have to see the score that made it clear, once and for all, that Salma didn't stand a chance.
