ShrikeFeather stood. The words echoing around camp couldn't be true.. Could they? SnowStar is dead. it was sickening to say let alone listen too a thousand times. It felt like the world had been swayed out from underneath the calico she-cat. She stood, her green eyes pleading to the other cats that it wasn't true. No one gave her reassuring glances but avoided her cautious gaze. They unknowingly had confirmed her fears and she suddenly felt very small compared to everything around her. She opened her jaws to speak but felt words clogged in her throat. Closing her jaws she looked away tears stinging her eyes as she held them back embarrassment the least of her worries. The worried glances of cats around her, the hum of the forest in the distance. The tears that fell to the ground silently from all around camp... She hoped the other cats would know what to do. She felt lost inside. Their leader was dead..

Was it true? Is their glorious leader dead? The tom stood straight and tall his gaze analyzing each cat as they moped. Inside he was dying. He always went on his leaders instruction and now snowstar was dead. The tabby barely kept his composure as he didn't dare choke out any words or risk tears to begin falling from his gold eyes. It was shock and anger came next. He smacked his paw into the dust in front of him gaze hardened in a matter of minutes. SNOWSTAR SHOULDN'T HAVE GONE THIS WAY! his mind screamed as tears began to follow his outburst. His composure broken he crumbled into a small ball of fur his golden eyes closed, ears pinned against his head and tears streaming he sobbed. What can I do now if i can't be strong for my clan..

TroutWhisker's shock was hidden by the cries of grief that escaped the tom next. He truly never was an emotional tom. He always liked showing off his emotions with posture and a flick of his ears. Unpredictable as he would call it. His head was down eyes closed tears streaming down his face. A death no matter which cat was upsetting enough but their leader. A strong cat who was willing to do anything for their clan. Snowstar was a practically perfect leader. He looked up his eyes watering still a miserable mix of grief and sorrow covered his face his fur clumped together wet with the salty tears. What would they do now? How could they possibly continue? Who would be the new leader? The obvious choice was ravensong. As the deputy she was the obvious choice correct? Was he correct? he didn't know anymore. What do I know with the leader gone.. I know nothing of the situation of what is next for the clan. Nothing. putting himself down with words caused the tom's gaze to harden as he narrowed his eyes at a stump in the distance. A small hiss of anger escaped him as he stood and stormed away ignoring the cats around him. His emotions a mixture of anger, grief, sorrow and anxiety.

She felt another cat slide flank her, before identifying the cat as Thunderjay. Looking up briefly, she made eye-contact with him, gave a small nod and blink in gratitude, before once again, lowering her head to grieve quietly. Elmwind and Thunderjay's warmth helped comfort her through her sorrow, and she was grateful to have such caring clanmates.

Noting that the black she-cat seemed to be a little shocked, Thunderjay was worried that what happened in Ravensong's apprentice times would repeat, and so, he slid in beside her to mourn Snowstar's death. Similar to her, he understood the pain of losing a loved one, and without the black she-cat, he would've also gone down the darker path. Ever since, the two have been like littermates.
She'll be fine, she'll get through this. She's a strong cat.

He picked his head up, done saying his prayers. He had wished Snowstar a safe journey to StarClan and Ravensong a strong leadership. He looked at the She-cat. He felt a pang of sympathy. He sighed and gently thoughts his muzzle to her head, then got up, leaving space for the next cat who needed their mourning time.

Seeing as how her mentors attention wasn't directly focused on anything, including herself, she silently snuck away. Avoiding direct attention from the crowd, she silently padded to the camp entrance, glancing back with caution, and darted as silently as a mouse down the barely cleared path. It was nearing the end of the sunset, and she knew it would be easier to move undetected in the darkness, and her hiding skill with shadows. She settled herself beside an oak trunk beneath a nettle bush and in a make-shift spruce leaf-nest. she sighed, relieved to not be near so many eyes that would stare and wonder why she wasn't joining them.

Ashpelt nodded as he made his way into the den. He picked up the bramble twig and turned to Creekpaw. “This is the bramble twig. If it needs to be used, you simply chew it into a syrup and give it to the cat that needs it. It’s use is to help cats sleep.” He meowed with a smile. He turned as he heard something behind him. “Oh, Silentpaw! You’re awake.” He smiled. “How are you feeling?” He asked as he walked up to her. “Here, eat these.” He meowed, nudging the seeds towards her.

Wait, is Snowstar ok?” She asked, confused. “Or was it real? Is she really... gone?” She meowed, eyes wide. “Oh, ok.” She meowed quietly before eating the seeds.

Lifting her head up, she looked at Tumblespirit.
"Tumblespirit, I'm sorry for the harsh words I said to you earlier, but now is not the time. I will apologise to you later, but all I wanted to say is that I'm sorry for what I said, and Snowstar's death just hit me really hard." she mewed softly, before once again closing her eyes and pushing her muzzle into Snowstar's fur.

ShrikeFeather stood and followed the other cats silently her gaze anywhere but up. Her white paws she watched as she walked her green eyes watched every detail as she lifted and placed it on the path ahead. Stopping abruptly she could tell without looking up what lay ahead of her. The other cats had already gathered around their fallen leader. The scent of death hung in the air and the sticky scent of blood washed over her pink nose. She stopped inhaling deeply she looked up and saw the limp form of her leader laying there gently in the grass. She approached her eyes clouded with grief. She looked up at the warriors gathered and spoke in a quiet disbelieving tone. "It-It's true. Isn't it. She's- She's gone.. Isn't she.." voice caught in her throat her gaze pleaded with the other cats as if begging for them to bring their leader back to life. She knew none of them could. Oh snowstar. If only you weren't taken so fast from us. Sleep well in StarClan.
