favorite christmas activity: Catching snowflakes. Mainly because it is the only thing that seems to keep him calm. But also, it reminds him of when he saw snowflakes for the first time. Hiding alongside his brother under the protection of their parents wings. Until both were brave enough to try and catch the little frozen droplets by themselves. Starting a competition between the two, on who could catch the most. Now, in his older years, while many would try and find shelter, he would calmly sit outside and watch them fall. The crystal clear flakes, giving him a sense of peace and security. Only when no one is looking, will he then leap about. Trying to catch them with either his paws or tongue. Ignoring the fact that some of the snowflakes were already settling down on both his back and wings. By the end of the day, his markings are barely visible. But he would of at least added a few more numbers to his score, and would think fondly of his family, as he gazes up at the clouds above.
Extras:
Personality: He is a calm and patient individual. Often thinking twice, before making any final decisions. Considering that he would prefer to analyse the situation first, instead of rushing in blindly. But his patience can often be tested, when handling those who either push him too far or are down right disrespectful. Only then will he make a move. However, he does try his best to keep his aggression at bay. Often resulting in him becoming a bit of a prankster, or becoming slight sarcastic. But don't let this fool you. Beneath all of this, is a kind hearted marra. One who will do all that he can to protect the ones that he cares about, even willing to risk his own life for them. But if someone just needs a shoulder to cry on, or are looking for advice. Then he will be at there side in a blink of an eye.
Story: Aster released a small yelp, the moment something heavier knocked into him. Sending both of the young marras flying into a large pile of snow. It didn't take long for either of them, to poke their heads back out. While one was laughing, the other had a very annoyed look within their greenish yellow gaze. Only to flatten his ears, the moment the slightly older marra showed no intention of being quiet. Aster and his brother have always been at odds with one another. Something that wasn't very surprising. When you take into consideration, that one was clearly stronger than the other. Just as the older was about to speak, a white droplet landed on his nose. Causing him to squeak in surprise, and move backwards. Which in turn gave Aster the chance to laugh at his brothers startled expression.
However, he also fell silent, the moment a white droplet landed on his paw. Followed by several others, as they gently fell down from the sky. Much like a spider descending from its web. It only took a shared glance between the two, before both went running back to the protection of their parents. Both of their fur being puffed up like a balloon, as they took shelter under their fathers wings. Only when their parents explained to them on what snowflakes were, did the two brothers dare to peek out from under their fathers wings. Aster, being the more curious one, stretched his head out to try and catch one. When he felt no harm done to him, only then did he decide to try and catch some more. Turning what once startled him, into a sort of game. It didn't take long for his older brother to join him, as the two cubs playfully batted at the flakes. Trying to beat the others score. It only ended, when their parents took the tired cubs back inside and told them to rest. But both silently promising one another, through the dimly lit space, that this was just the beginning. Before slowly falling asleep, with small mischievous smiles on their faces.
Aster twitched an ear, as he listened out for possible danger. White paws touched the snow covered ground carefully. His grey markings now fully visible, after waiting years for them to show through. Greenish yellow eyes, fell onto the silhouette in front of him. A small smile stretching across his face, as he recognised the place he grew up in. Now long since abandoned, after humans got a little too close for comfort. Before glancing up at the clouded sky above him. Watching as the first few snowflakes began to fall down, some even landing on his head and back. Shifting his wings a tiny bit, in order to feel the currently calm breeze within the wind. His feathers each itching to fly. Crouching down, to a low and comfortable level. Before springing forwards. A few wing beats later, and he was airborne. Twisting and turning elegantly, as he flew along with the wind. Once or twice he would stick his tongue out as he did so, while silently counting the snowflakes he caught. Once satisfied, he then hovered above the tree tops. Watching the sun as it began to make its slow climb into the sky. His eyes squinted a little, as he looked at the amount of land that stretched before him. Smiling just a tiny bit, as his eyes focused on a familiar area within the distance." I wonder on how many snowflakes you've caught this year, brother?", he asked. It was a futile question. After all, no one was here to answer him. But it was still something he did. A small smile stretched across his face, as he thought of what his brother could be doing right now. Before falling backwards into a dive, only to spin back up into the clouds above. There were still places he wanted to visit, after all.
