A Day in the Life of a Rocket (Open & Accepting)

Sarah smiled at her and said, "My name's Sarah. I used to be a military scientist back during the war. All that work, for nothing. We worked day and night on that project, and what does Oak go and do? He surrenders, just to save his own skin!" she sighed, adjusting her glasses and said, "Apologies, many Kanto patriots have a bad opinion on Oak. The old man's a brilliant mind, and he was the strongest man in Kanto back then. And he gave it all up just to save his own life. If fighting for something he believed in ultimately cost him his life... at least it would have been an honorable death. Lance may act like he cares about Kanto's safety, but the day he actually does is the day I eat a dead Muk." she poured herself a cup of coffee and said, "I suppose I could ask one of the grunts to help us out with the testing when they get back from Mt. Moon. Hopefully the rookies manage to snag a fossil or two. I've always wanted to try and revive an extinct Pokemon."

Marilyn - 19 - Researcher - Tags; Sarah

Marilyn nods in agreement when she talked about Oak. "Trust me, I've heard my parents rant about him endlessly", at the end of Mary's comment, she laughs a bit. When Sarah says something about fossils, she perks up with interest. "I wonder what kind of Pokemon would be revived through some of the fossils? " After a while of thinking, she states; "Maybe that could be another thing we could sell. We can't exactly code extinct Pokemon, there might be new genetics in their forms. But we could still breed them, and imagine what lengths a trainer would go for those Pokemon! Anyway, about those grunts. Am I able to give some tasks to a few? I know your the Superior, and you can order grunts around, but I don't want to be a bother and constantly ask for you to order some grunts for simple things." She seems a little uncertain about herself, as if she was breaking an invisible rule.

"Oh, I'm just the head researcher, the grunts are on a different level than us, but researchers in general can ask grunts for assistance. I do like that idea about the genetic DNA though. If they manage to bring anything back, we'll see what we can do. I do have some doubts though. The entire team is made up of complete rookies, not to mention Petrel is the most incompetent of Giovanni's admins, but that's beside the point."

Caelan got another grunt to head back to Petrel and tell him about the fossils. However, while he was waiting, a 10 year old came along. He didn't say a single word, but it was obvious he was going to get in the way. Unfortunately, the boy's Pokemon were incredibly strong, he had a Charmeleon! The boy quickly defeated him and moved on to the scientist. Caelan could hear the battle end even quicker than the battle with him had ended. He ran over to the scientist and saw that both fossils were gone. Caelan growled and said, "That kid... he's not just strong... he's dangerous." The scientist said, "I couldn't do a damn thing before he made off with both fossils, I don't understand where a ten year old could get a war-grade Pokemon like Charmeleon!" Petrel started walking up and said, "Both fossils did you say? That's great. Just great. Well, the mission's a failure. We're heading back. Caelan right? Did you get a good look at the kid?" Caelan nodded and said, "Yes, I remember every little detail about him. His eyes... that gaze is burning in my mind." Petrel nodded and said, "You'll have to tell the boss about him. I'll see you when you get back to Celadon." before he started to head back, Caelan said, "Actually sir, perhaps the mission isn't a complete failure. I found this while I was down in the lower tunnels." He held out a piece of amber, to which the scientist said, "That's a chunk of amber! It probably has enough DNA stored in it to revive a Pokemon from it." Petrel smiled and said, "Not bad kid, not bad. I'll make sure this gets back to the scientists at the base safe and sound."

Marilyn - 19 - Researcher - Tags; Sarah

"Okay, that's nice to know!" She chirps happily. She thinks for a few seconds and then blurts out "If we're able to make Pokemon, shouldn't we keep a few to distribute to grunts? It'd be easier for everyone, and we could use the Pokemon as rewards for grunts doing certain tasks." She ends her thought, still slightly confused on how things work in Team Rocket.

"Well, Giovanni does give Porygon to grunts that have proven themselves, and if a grunt manages to recover a fossil, he or she will likely receive a copy of whatever Pokemon we're able to revive."

Sullivan / Sully / Male / 22 / Grunt / Tags; Open

Sully was far in one of the tunnels to the point where their were no more gurnts searching around. He then began to hear a clanging noise down one of the tunnels. He quietly walked down the tunnel and once at the end saw a old man, they looked like a scientist with their large over coat, digging a fossile out of the wall. Bingo! Sully smirked as he saw the old man with the fossil. He then stopped when he noticed the sleeping Rhyhorn next to the old man. The old man had now fully dug the fossil and was dusting it off. This guys must have wondered in here searching for fossiles not even knowing us rockets were swarming the cave. He slowly paced forward trying not to make any noise and wake the old mans sleeping pokemon. He was only a few feet away and the old man suddenly turned around and said who's there? Sully suddenly ran twords the old man and took the fossil then ran out tword where he came. The Rhyhorn woke up instantly and began to chase him through the dark tunnels while the old man feel behind not being able to run. The Rhyhorn was getting very close its loud steps and Sullys echoing through the cave waking up the Zubats. "Ekans poisin sting!" He shouted while running. His Ekans was still hanging on his shoulders like a scarf. It turned its head twords the Rhyhorn behind them and used posin sting aiming for the Rhyhorn trying to make it slow down. It was obviously a much higher level but the poisin stings did help for sully to get ahead and turn down a different tunnel to get the Rhyhorn off its trail. Sully could bearly breath he has probobly never ran that fast in his life but he got the fossil! It was all worth it. He caught his breath then began to head back through the tunnels leading to the exit unaware of the whole battle that went down with the kid and the Charmeleon. He found the exit and looked around for where the Surperiors are to turn in his stolen fossil.

As the team started to exit the cave, Caelan saw Sully with a fossil and pointed him out to Petrel. Petrel smiled and said towards Sully, "Good job! At least we have some competent grunts on the job. Two fossils almost makes up for that embarrassing defeat by a mute ten year old. Let's get back to the base in Celadon. You two will be rewarded for actually finding something." The group flew back to Celadon. Petrel took Caelan and Sully to the researcher's lab. "Sarah, the mission was not a complete failure, we have some fossils for you. Once you collect enough DNA from them, make sure to save a copy so we can mass produce them for the Game Corner. These two grunts were exceptional, so I want you to give them each one Pokemon revived from the fossils."

Sarah nodded and said, "Right away Petrel" she looked at Caelan and Sully and said, "I'll page you over the intercom when the revival process is done, so don't go anywhere too soon."

Caelan nodded and said, "I have to talk to the boss anyway, so I'm not going anywhere unless he gives me a mission." as he walked out of the lab with Sully, he smiled at his new friend and said, "Nice job out there Sully."

I get to keep the pokemon when its revived? Sweet! He thought to himself. Guess its worth it since he almost got taken down by a Rhyhorn. "Thanks Caelan." He responded. Its nice to not have to go anywhere and take a break now. But Caelan's mention of the boss made him think. "Could I come with you to the boss? I should probobly turn in my spearow to him."

"I wouldn't be so sure about that, the fossil you brought back might not be a flying type, and you'll need a flying type to get to new missions. I'm only going to tell him what I know about that kid who nearly cost us the mission." Petrel walked up to them and said, "Actually, the boss wants to see both of you. He's decided to give you both a well-deserved reward. Don't waste any time getting to his office." Caelan shrugged and said, "I guess you're coming too then." and walked with Sully to the elevator to get to Giovanni's office.
