Yes, I agree. And Sharona was so tacky! Did anyone else notice that her clothes and hair were, to say the least, disgusting? xD

Hi, revisiting this thread nearly ten years later to say that Sharona is actually the superior character, I changed my mind. She's better written and more realistic. She holds her own presence and has a really great dynamic with not only Monk but Randy, the Captain, etc. Plus Monk's relationship with Benjy is a lot more interesting than his with Julie--you can tell he's a lot closer with Benjy and is more part of their family, and Monk serves as more of an awkward mentor figure. Sharona is strong and complicated in a way that feels very believable. She was there for Monk in the aftermath of Trudy's passing and I love that she think of him as more of a peer as she calls him "Adrian." I also have some slight annoyances with Natalie. Her backstory is more convoluted and ridiculous, with her military husband who abandoned his troop and her being part of some kind of toothpaste dynasty. She's more cute and cartoony, a true sidekick character. Sharona has a presence. Team Sharona.

How interesting that you changed your mind. I do see your point. I still like Natalie better because I think their episodes together are my favorites. But I definitely see your point about how Sharona and Monk’s dynamic is a little more interesting. My family and I rewatched the episode in the last season where Sharona comes back to visit. Very funny, if you haven’t rewatched it recently I highly recommend it xD crazy to think that almost 10 years ago I made a post about this show, and all these years later I still rewatch the episodes and still call it my favorite show.
