hopefully no one is rude to you guys.

I've actually always had a pleasant experience with helping people ID their pets / find out values. Most users are thankful when they don't have to dig through years' worth of archive pages to find their pets. IDing is a minute matter for me and I've already got copypaste text sitting for explaining what a list pet and the three month rule are^^
It's a lot of work in the early hours, but I can't actually think of any cases on top off my head where anyone's ever been rude or demanding about it. If at all, people just sometimes worry their requests aren't seen because the threads move so fast.
Plus, a lot of times it's just really nice to be able to tell someone "hey, you've got a sun pup / UR / warrior cat there". You just know someone's day was just made
I've helped find pets before, and honestly it's not that hard to me. I just set the archives to only displaying the species I'm looking for, and I just flick through it really quickly. It's generally easy to ID litters, and then the correct pet, from there.
Dogs are probably the hardest to ID because you have to scroll down, lol.
ETA: yes it is possible to get old UR's. This is the only time you can get them, of course, so best of luck.

and I may join in this year w/ helping find older pets ^-^
It's not an official copypasta or anything, but yeah haha I like to keep a pre-written text for those two scenarios because chances are I will have to tell someone what the list is or something like that, and typing it out every time would take up a lot of time that I could spend answering more requests.
So basically, all I have to do is to manually fill out the part with the month and year of the pet, and if it's a listie also what name it goes by and what tier it's on.
The ID and FTT threads are always welcoming people who know how to help :D Personally I'm no good at trade advice, so I can never help on the FTT :(

I think a lot of people are more deterred by the lag in the first few hours, aha. I know most of the pets by heart and don't have to look, but man, the archive loads slowly for a while and that turns a lot of people off searching for the pets themselves xD

Lol I guess I tend to just steer clear of the whole game while the lag is so bad, I figure I can pick my pets up later after things calm down and I don't need them ID'd immediately.
